There is no "original midi" as N64 sequence data use their own format, and it's even different for different games. I muted the velocity data in the real sequence data on the ROM file and played it back using the N64 sound output (which is done in software in the device). The result is authentic sounding backing tracks with the melody removed, anything done with midi data on third-party sequencers only sounds close, but not exact. I hope you enjoy it
you may have taken the melody out of the song, but the real melody keeps playing and playing in my head, simply the best game of my life
Wait... this sounds very similar to Color Splash's world map theme, was that song referencing this one the whole time?
Bro single-handedly discovered a previously unknown Easter egg in the least enjoyed paper Mario game. Very cool indeed👍👍👍
I can still hear this playing in my head lol
this is the best song in the game
I definitely agree
Wait, did you redo this to make it sound good? :0 sounds good :D
No, it's not redone. I believe the original MIDI was used to create this.
They decompile and recompile the tracks on real N64 hardware. I think they explained it in a comment on the Powerful Mario video.

Can you please do "Inside The Castle Walls" next?
I already produced this one but I found it to be a little lacking, but I can add it to this playlist if you like
@@VideoGameBackingTracks Ah, I see. I'd still like to hear it, yes!
@@VideoGameBackingTracks No rush, I was just wondering if you were still planning to release this track to your channel?
This feels... wrong...
