Limb Lengths & Deadlift Technique

- Ever notice how many top deadlifters have super long legs and arms? 🤔
Your body proportions play a huge role in all athletics, and the deadlift is a prime example. Longer legs and arms allow athletes to set up higher in the deadlift, creating a stronger starting position. Plus, a shorter torso means their spinal extensor muscles don't have to work as hard during the lift.
If you're on the other side of the spectrum with a relatively long spine, you'll need incredible back strength to maintain your position. That's why many shorter-limbed athletes use a squatty setup in their deadlift to keep their torso more vertical and reduce the moment arm. The good news? These athletes often excel in squatting! 💪

I find that yes i need to start my deadlift with a mini squat, like thrusting my hips almost towards the bar to deadlift, or else i think my back would hurt a lot
