    My dad was given just six weeks to live with an aggressive form of cancer. He was told to go home ad sort his affairs. He went on to live for more than four years. What killed him in the end was the loss of his two brothers he lost the will to go on living but I’m convinced that had his brothers lived he would have still been here. He always had a positive outlook and the doctors couldn’t get over him

    Hey Dan. I am a 27 year old woman who lives in the Netherlands. This is something my doctors have said to me over and over. I have IBS and a health anxiety disorder (hypochondria). I have tried so many things in the last 9 years. Because of my IBS i get chronic stomach pains and always combined with having to go to the toilet. If i dont go number 2 at the moment i have servere stomach pain the pain does not go away. I have tried diets, doctors, certain medications like laxatives and psychologists. Now in the 9 years of this, doctors have turned me inside and out. They never found anything wrong with my body. They just say IBS (constipation) and there is no cure, and i have to deal with it, learn to live with it. And because of that i dont leave the house very often. I avoid doing a lott of stuff because of my IBS pain and fear. Now everytime i have this pain, i also get really scared/anxious. I always think the worst is going to happen. I think the pain will never go away or that im going to die i completley freak out and start hyperventilating, my whole body shakes because of insane adrenaline. I am such a scared person. Everytime i have a pain sensation my anxiety goes through the roof. Dan you have said so many things that make a lott of sense. I have been making myself anxious, by thinking the most horrible things. Im trying like u said to selfsooth my self. And knowing that my fear is a liar. And telling myself im safe. Just hearing u say that there can be a cure, gives me hope. I have been really exhausted over the last years because of the pain and fear. I want to get better, i want to live my life. Im still young and i can do so much still. All the things you say in ur video's is so incredible relatable. It makes so much sense to me why i get scared now when i feel pain. Because of my fear i have told myself over and over for the past 9 years that there is something wrong with me and that im in danger. But like u said im not in danger. Thank you Dan for making these video's. So many people go through this. Im so glad i found ur channel. I will follow this religiously. You give me and other people hope! Thank you!
    God bless.

    I was seriously thinking of quitting school and then I found your videos and it gave me just the amount of faith and hope I needed. I’m continuing my studies, I just enrolled in the current semester, and I have been going out more, I even went on a date twice. And yes the symptoms are there but they seem to not turn out into something terrible when remaining calm.
    It helps a lot also that you speak so calmly and confidently.

    Recently, I convinced my doctor that I wanted to try going off a medication to control a tremor that I have had for over 30 years. I had been taking a Beta Blocker all that time, but noticed that the tremor would come back in times of stress, even with the medication. My doctor was reluctant to agree with me stopping it as she was convinced my blood pressure would skyrocket. It took 3 weeks for me to decrease the medicine safely and had a few mild symptoms as the medication slows down your heart and remember, I was on it 30+ years! I have been off it now for 3 weeks and my blood pressure is perfect and the tremor I was taking it for is GONE! I would not be surprised if it showed up again during ties of extreme stress, but now I know what is causing it and can just wait for my brain to listen to me and calm down. Thanks so much Dan!

    "Keep trying" I have. Two months ago I learned that there are 2 types of people who don't recover. Those who put in a half hearted effort and those who overdo it. I am the latter so I took nearly 2 months off from recovery efforts. 8 days in to it the pain while riding my bike vanished. I'm still limping but that appears to be from being "crooked." If you're not seeing results it may not be from lack of "clarity." It may be from trying too hard. I think daily practice of any kind is likely to be counterproductive.

    I was told by a pelvic pain specialist that the goal for me was that I would always know it was there, but that it wouldnt "stop me from doing things". That statement crushed me.What that really translates into is we just don't know what to do with you at this point. Nothing the specialists or surgeons did ever made me any better. Since finding Dan a few months ago i have made so much progress. I spent 3 years in between an 8 and a 10/10 level daily pain, now I have lots of days where the level is so low I almost forget its there. And I am very rarely having pain flares anymore.Its still hanging on a bit but I no longer fear it, because I know whats happening. If levels go up i know its temporary and the next day is better. I'm not giving it the attention I once did anymore...thats why I've taken a temporary break from group. I've been busy off living my life again. Thanks Dan ❤

    One of the most classic is, there is no cure for depression .... (although here between you and me, mine is pretty bad right now and I have serious side effects of medications....I am doing ect soon and praying it will work...sorry if my statement here, now is not a good one.... I wished there was a Dan Buglio to help us with this dramatic issue ... ) In the past when my phisical pain was my only issue Dan hás done a lot for me and I'm eternaly grateful for that but unfortunately the depression which was prior to the pain came back stronger than never - increased by the use of sleeping pills...Thanks Dan !! I need help! Since I have cancer and fibro unfortunately it does require me to see doctors. I’ve been told by a NP I have a “reputation” for refusing the bunch of pills they are pushing on me I Know Dont Work! I have never had a physician even bring up the word fibromyalgia. But they sure want me to take a handful of meds! I just had a aspiration pneumonia due to my swallowing issues from scar tissue and was completely blown off that cost me 6 weeks in bed. How could I not be able to advocate for myself as a nurse of 30 years! I am getting better with Dans material! I don’t need pills. I don’t need a reputation for standing up for myself when my physicians don’t know the first word about fibromyalgia. Chronic pain, CFS does it matter? Not really. Keep up hope, have faith, no one knows your body like yourself.

    • @JochenBilderbeek
      @JochenBilderbeek 11 місяців тому +2

      What do you find absurt about it? It's a tool to feel safe with the sensations in your body. You just observe a sensation with lightness and curiosity. That turns down the fear and learns the brain the sensations are actually safe. In my opinion it totally fits Dan's approach.

    Hi Dan, I have spent last one year of my life with this pain obviously trying various therapies etc. The mind was continuously in turmoil reading horror stories about others. It has resulted in temporary aggravation of symptoms. I read Sarno's book in Dec last year but could not apply. Following your channel regularly now and attempting to practice. I have small kids and wanted to know if it would be ok to seek other therapies while applying the TMS approach to ky life. Some give temporary relief that makes it a little easier. What is your view on this ?

    • @1STBUCKLEY
      @1STBUCKLEY 11 місяців тому +2

      Personally I believe if you take other on remedies you give the message to your brain that something is wrong and the fear fuels more symptoms and sensations. If you have a massage for a massage only and not to fix something that's not broken that's a whole different concept. You really can do this but maybe you have to take a different path to begin with.
