- Today I’m unboxing the 3rd generation Willow pump! I’m so excited to give you guys an overview of this wireless, hands-free, rechargeable Willow wearable breast pump. I also purchased the reusable breast milk containers to go with the pump. They now offer the 21 mm sizes in both the container and flanges to use with the bags. Yeeessssss!!!! I searched reviews and on boxings on Willow pump and I was looking through everybody’s and as soon as I saw yours I clicked on it because you seem to know a lot about pumping and things like that and I just felt like he would give more information than everybody else because you do the work

Do you need to get the useable storage containers, or can you pump right into the device and pour out into a bottle or other milk storage bag?
That's what the reusable storage container would be for! The default for willow is the bags. So if you didn't buy the containers you would have to pump directly into bags. And I personally preferred the containers over the bags. Hope this made sense!

I have the 2.0. There is. Learning curve to it. It pumps completely different then any other pump. It’s amazing though. Definitely my favorite pump.

i was debating on getting this one or the elvie but the willow had bags to collect the milk is this a new version that recently came out? i ended up going with the elvie pump n let me tell you these pumps are a game changer. ppl say that you don’t get emptied well enough with these portable pumps but you do they are awesome.

Im so glad you are doing this pump. I want one so bad for when i hve baby #2. It will make pumping in the go and at work so much easier and hopefully i cant pump longerbthen i did for my daughter

What breastmilk storage bags are you using right now. I used Medela ones last year and didn't like it so much. Same with the parents choice..I feel as if they have a freezer burnt taste to it.
I've wanted the willow 3.0 so bad, but because it's so new and reviews on it yet, I decided to go with the spectra s1 plus. Last year I went with the Medela Pump in Style. It pumped fine but I didn't care for it too much! Watching your videos helped me determine what pump to get! Thanks for the Willo 3.0 review!
I use the Lansinoh ones the most!

Reallllllly can’t wait to hear your thoughts on these. I’ve seen good and bad, but it’d be nice to hear the thoughts of an exclusive pumper. I hear there is a learning curve with the Willow and it takes some getting used to.

Have you seen anything for catching leaking overnight or while sleeping? I saw Lily pads which are reusable silicone stickers to block any milk from coming out of the nipples but idk how practical that is while sleeping

@@MommaAlia thanks lol and the hunt continues. Have you tried using silicone breast cushions for the medela? I know there are cushions that come with the Advent pump and I think there are some by maymom for other pumps. Wondering what your thoughts are for making the pump more comfortable since past experiences make me a little worried. looking into the lansinoh smartpump 2.0 but I would like to know if it's possible to use sillicone cushions with them

I had to stop using it due to unrelated breastfeeding complications. Getting back to using it now💕 I haven’t tried the freemie, sorry momma!

I plan on getting pregant soon with what will be my third and ive all ready been trying to find out which pumps are covered under my insurance i found out that the freemie one is... But I loved lanisoh so much I've been going back and forth on trying a new pump or not. My biggest thing is i want it portable for when i go back to work.. I really want the willow.. But as of right now thats beyond my price limit 😔
I wanted to much to love this pump and I can’t even use it without it hurting. I’ve done so much with them and consulting and changing sizes but it didn’t work for me. I ended up getting the Lansinoh 2.0 based on your review and get double the milk I did with the willow and Medela. Best of luck

Super curious to hear your thoughts on this. I keep reading comments that the Willow and Elvie are not the best options for exclusive pumping.. I’m not due until October, but I’m trying to learn about all my options ahead of time. My last pump was a Medela In Style and I had nothing but problems with it. I ended up having to rent a hospital grade Medela for six months. I’m hoping this or an Elvie will work out.
It’ll be coming soon! I’m going to have to use these hands free pumps more before I can form an opinion about how I like them for EP but I have heard the same thing😕
I just bought mine haven't tried it yet bc quarantine just nursing til I go back to work. I'm so excited. I will say that I'm in a couple Willow users FB groups and they mention using those flange inserts (I think you have done a review of one kind they use) Because the sizes are sometimes a little off. If you are having trouble or pain, they say its super helpful

I’ve been watching you forever and I was just watching your Medela Freestyle Flex review the other day and thinking to myself why hasn’t she tried the Willow yet? I’m so excited to here your review and experience. It definitely has a learning curve but I’m sure you’ll do just fine. I hope you start using it soon, it’s a game changer for most! Good luck!

Just a heads up, theres a learning curve with the willow but its totally worth it in my opinion. It took me a few weeks to really get a feel for it. Theres a Facebook page for both willow and elvie pump support that's been really helpful to me. Theres also a ton of how to videos on their app and website. Bra choice is important! They're a little heavy lol. I wear a stretchy bra with a stretchy camisole for added support when I know I'm going to have to pump.
The first time I pumped with it I got maybe an oz each breast versus the 3 to 4 I normally get. But I held on and I honestly havent even used my spectra since. Theres still some things that I think could be improved but its definitely worth it in my opinion. Last night I was able to pump while I was cleaning up the store I work at for the night. That's definitely a blessing in my book!

Yay! I am so excited that you got this! I am due in July with my 3rd & ordered the Lansinoh through Aeroflow and bought the Willow 3.0 yesterday with my HSA account! I am curious to see if you get the same output with the Willow?

No, I haven’t! Wasn’t a huge fan of it so I haven’t bought newer versions😕
I wish they made this pump more affordable for us common folk .... because I just can't justify paying $500ish for something I'd use for a year or less. Even with $25 off, that's insane. I'd love one, if it were $250-300 to me that's the most I'd pay for something like this because to me that's still a HUGE expense at $250-300 because I look at it like "It would take X hours of working for us to pay for this expense." My husband's the only person working right now, too.
Meg C. I ordered mine with my husbands’ HSA through the Willow website because there’s no way we could have paid for it out of pocket. Just to let you know in case your husband has a FSA or HSA through work.
I completely understand! I would have never bought this if it wasn’t my job. It’s a major issue I have with breast pumps. With something so crucial to some breastfeeding journeys they should be more affordable. Sara has a good point! Not sure if you guys do FSA or how much you put in it but most pump companies allow you to pay with it!
I wish they shipped to Canada 😭 this pump would save my journey. I find it impossible to be plugged to the wall while my boyfriend is gone working 12 hour shifts at the hospital.
I didn’t know it was an option for you guys😕 that’s a bummer! I think Helen has a good idea with the Mya Or Freestyle Flex plus a handsfree bra. Definitely not the same set up but may be better than nothing. Hope you find something that works momma!💕

That’s not my style of content. With it being an over $300 non-returnable breast pump, I like to take my time. Sorry if that’s not what you’re looking for but I’m sure another content creator has something quicker!
