At one stage, it actually looks like she is studying the Xray herself, understands, puts her say into the matter, tries to reassure Scott, that she approves, and that it's all ok.
😢 It makes me wonder, if like many breeders, if the other puppies were actually sold & they just didn't want to deal with her. Thankfully, they turned her over to the rescue.
Any possible damage could have had a better recovery had it been addressed as soon as it was DISCOVERED!!! Having a dead/previously strangled foot for a year?!!
can't say i'm impressed with the response time of the tortoise owners i know reptiles are experts at hiding health issues but come on, poor bedrock had her leg snared for hours and the owner didn't (or didn't mention) even take her in for a checkup til now? I don't know if it'd have saved the leg (infections can be picked up at anytime, and this may have been pick up well post injury) but it'd have showed more effort from the owner then seen here.
I have seen owners of cats and some dogs use chop sticks to 'brace' and support the broken leg of a cat, or twigs/sticks to do the same on a dog, they thought they were doing right by the animal, so wouldn't/didn't take it to a vet, for upto a month later!
I was just thinking that too. Clearly she wasn’t ok, and it took the people a year and a half to take her in? Pets need regular checkups like people, and poor Bedrock probably missed a couple routine appointments then too.
❤❤❤ Bondi Vets are brilliant all the animals you save and have to do amputations must be hard decision to make but you do because you have to to save them.well done ❤❤❤❤😢😢😊😊 bittersweet
Two minutes in and I’m already distressed😢 Poor doggy😢😥🆘😩 I think it’s upsetting that Annie’s siblings passed and that her mum was in labour for three days 😢😮
Feeling for my name twin!🥹😢 She is a special pup and soo glad she got to meet Dr Chris and his gentle care and expertiese! Please, let us know how she is doing in the future! 🤗 Bye from 🇸🇪
I am not a big turtle fan as a pet but Bedrock is absolutely beautiful! You have him at the right vet and he will do just fine no matter the outcome! God bless all of you!
Wow, really interesting to see how removing that underdeveloped leg actually allowed her to walk and run 10x better than before! Really incredible. Modern medicine is just amazing 🙌
Keep kitties inside. They don't get hit by cars or attacked by bigger animals. I've had both inside and out. My new baby 2 yo Oakley is going to stay inside with lots of toys. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Wise choice! I know some cats are very eager to get out and run, but there are so many other options that aren’t as dangerous to them. Cats also aren’t typically native to an area, so allowed to roam free they can district the natural ecosystem.
Yep! They also don't decimate the local wildlife. I will never own another outdoor cat (I have only had one, my childhood cat, but she was a homebody and didn't venture beyond the yard)
I see a lot of cats getting hurt from being outside on this channel. It's bad enough here in the U.S., but I can't believe so many people let their cats outside in Australia where there are even more dangers.
Seriously. I understand that some places don’t have as many cat predators as where I am (the US). However cars are pretty much everywhere, I know I’ve heard of places that don’t have cars like super small islands. My roommate had a cat that we are pretty sure was eaten by coyotes. I’ve never gotten over it really. I grieved but I still blame him being able to go outside.
After Anika’s amputation you could immediately see her walking had improved quite significantly. She could walk more in a straight line after the surgery. So her right leg was so much in the way and probably was a bit annoying to her
Amen to that! I guess it’s not always that easy to keep determined cats inside, though. I’m grateful that my two indoor girls have zero interest in going outside.
you can but i think it depends but on a growing dog you'd have to constantly replace or modify the prosthetic and that would probably be extremely expensive
If you listen to Dr Chris, Anika has a twisted leg that's basically turned her elbow around. Additionally, they pointed out that the nerve doesn't go all through the leg. With the leg the way it is, it ruins her gait by throwing itself backward rather than forward. At that point, the only choice is an amputation
Last year I lost my cat because he couldn't go to the toilet and he didn't Became a year before we had to remove him and my dad couldn't afford the vet so my dad's friend 😢Took him away and his name was Freke😢🥺😭 And his brother is alive but his other brother died of the same thing but one of his brothers is still alive and his name is diesel and he is doing great and he turns 2 in May love your videos so so much
Two cats in this episode seriously injured, and facing possible euthanasia, because the owners allow the pet cats outdoors. Pet cats should be kept indoors with appropriate stimulation. Letting cats roam in modern subdivisions ends in injury or death for so many cats, and is completely avoidable.
Really bothered me when he touches the wound without gloves on. Also idk if it’s just me as a disabled person and animal rescuer but euthanasia for a broken leg feels a bit much when wheelchairs, people trained to take care of disabled cats and medical intervention are all hugely available and I think a lot of that mindset comes from ableism and abled bodied people saying “they’d rather die than be disabled” and so on
I am becoming a vet when I am older and I find these videos helpful to me and I can learn from them
That's awesome. Best wishes for your future
Me too ❤ 😊

Anika is such a cute little girl. Thank you Dr. Chris for fixing her leg. Look at her run. That is so sweet. 🙏💜🙏
Bella sure is a talker. Beautiful cat. Great job Dr. Scott. 🐈⬛ ❤
You can see in her eyes she feels a lot better she is so cute 🥰

Anita is so beautiful, and I am so glad Dr Chris was able to give her back her quality of life 🐕🥰
She is such a beautiful dog! So sorry she needs to have an amputation. 😢❤

HOPEFULLY ANIKA WILL GET
A GOOD HOME BCAUSE
NOT EVERY BODY IS WILLING
TO TAKE A PUPPY WITH
A DISABILITY.
She seems so sweet and eager, she’ll make a great pet for the right people ❤️
want to see , Dr Scott and Chris together in a episode
Theres emma 26:13 ! You look great ! Nice to see you ❤❤❤❤
I want to become a vet when I'm older and these videos are making my dreams hopefully because a reality

I love y'all and what you do. Much much love ❤️
Awesome videos.
Happy Easter Annicha and Rosa
With Bella the cat, was this before she had her 2 kittens?
happy Easter Brller and to the family friend
Yes, it's true that accidents happen. But it's pretty close to impossible for your cat to get run over by a car if your cat isn't outside.
Amen to that! I guess it’s not always that easy to keep determined cats inside, though. I’m grateful that my two indoor girls have zero interest in going outside.
Agreed. It's hard to feel much sympathy for these owners who purposely let their cats outside. There are just so many dangers.
Exactly what I was thinking
It’s also illegal in Australia to have outdoor cats, at least where I live due to them killing and endangering wildlife
Obrigada Deus ❤❤❤

Where's nurse Emma?
Is it an Akita called Anita ???
Her name is Annika.
Can you not put a prosthetic on the pup?
you can but i think it depends but on a growing dog you'd have to constantly replace or modify the prosthetic and that would probably be extremely expensive
and if they're a young dog anyway they usually very easily adapt to having a lost limb so it becomes pointless anyway
If there isnt a joint to attach to then prosthetics aren’t much help, unfortunately. If she had more of a nubbin then maybe
@@bird2034not to mention the direction of the deformity

Insane concept but cats usually don't get run over when inside, idk, I might be thinking pretty high-level here.
Seriously. It's so hard to feel sympathy for these owners who purposely let their cats out.
Cats need to stay indoors. They are not meant to go outdoors where a lot of things can happen. There are cars and dogs and other animals.
Can those of you that have money for foreign adventures, please donate money to rescue animals in need?
Only if those of us who can't afford those trips also put our time to the same effort

Why no mask during surgery? Because it’s an amputation?
