I came to this site because I just watched a really nice documentary made about 40 years ago narrated by the late great actor James Mason, one of my favorite actors. Being an American and never having the opportunity to visit outside of my country, the people there seem very nice, blue collar and pretty much the same as my home town in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Everywhere you look, things have changed, some good, some bad, as with my town. I find the people of England to be very nice and I feel, coming from a blue collar background, living in Philly, Huddersfield kind of reminds me of Philly a bit. I wouldn’t say to anybody that their town is the worst. I think there are some areas of my town that are run down and some nicer. The main thing is the people make the character of the town and I find Huddersfield to be quite charming.
Certainly not the worst place ive ever been. I mean did these people who did the voting even see Wolverhampton and Coventry. ??? Or some of the places around Glasgow, like Cumbernauld and Paisley ??
It's got it's positive and negative aspects like any other place. Also depends on the area of Huddersfield you're taking about, I mean, we have one of the best parks in Yorkshire: Greenhead park
Huddersfield was once a good clean arts and crafts town. Then it brought all the foreign immigrants in in the 1950s and 1960s who had no regard for it other than to better themselves and make profit and he there were the black arts towns and cities surrounding it, the main culprits Halifax, Elland and Dewsbury, Leeds and Manchester that took advantage of its naivety and purity

DEFINITELY Huddersfield isn't the worst . for me i lived their in 2009\2010 and it was one of the best places !
