Thank you for reminding people to take care of their pets. Fresh water daily. Wash their bowls at the end of the day with the same liquid dish soap you use for your plates (or first thing in the morning before feeding them). Wash their toys (but do NOT soak the plastic toys that squeak in water, as mold will grow inside if water gets inside, just like children's bath toys do). Love and appreciate your tips! Just wondering if you clean inside appliances, i.e. washing machine, dishwasher, or garbage disposal. If so, what products do you use? Can you make a video on that?
Keeping that toilet seat down when flushing (in non commercial toilets) is so important for keeping a cloud of fecal bacteria from spreading all over your bathroom (and in commercial bathrooms with *multiple* toilets, don't touch anything you don't have to touch) and always wash your hands to prevent e-coli infection of yourself and others.
@katie7748 not true. I will see if I can find the luminescence experiment video. A special dye, placed in toilet water, before flushing with lid open, showed that dyed water sprayed up all over the place. It was visible under a blacklight.
These r some good ideas, never knew i could take the blade outta my blender, ty! I clean my toilet plunger after each use and keep fabuloso in my toilet brush holder. While washing a load of dirty clothes, i wipe the laundry basket down with lysol wipes before putting the clean clothes back in it.
Thanks! Also remember the broom and dustpan and vacuum and waste-paperbasket. (I think "dirty laundry" baskets and "clean laundry" baskets should be different types or colors so clean laundry is never put into a dirty basket.) Cleaning laundry baskets often is a great idea!
I think I'm going to make some fabric liners for my laundry baskets so I can throw them into the wash with the last load of clothing that needs to be washed. This way; I will always start collecting my clothes inside a fresh environment.
This is what I have (linen liners) in my laundry "baskets" (more like top-load cabinets), one which is 1 wicker, the other reinforced natural rope (prob jute or sisal). I have strips of velcro affixed in order to easily secure and remove the linen liners. Pop 'em in with the laundry, Voila! (The vessels are relatively heavy, so they live in the closet.) I also have oversized drawstring laundry bags (2 linen, 1 mesh-top nylon) which were manufactured for that purpose, so you can pop 'em in with laundry, too. Easy-peasy, and takes up a LOT less room. (For anyone w/o baskets, who might read this.) Since I got into the habit of folding my clean clothes in the laundry room, they get put right back into those bags, slung over my shoulder, until I get back into my apt. Do it, Debbie! (Create or buy some.) So many times, many of us have a great idea, or come across a creative solution, and we procrastinate. Don't just think it, DO it. 💛 (Not to myself, too. 💯)
I have laundry bags that I throw right in the washer with my laundry. They're the 1st things I pull out after the dryer is done, then scoop everything straight out into the clean bags.
Remember to clean your washing machine, especially the entire agitator - I'm always appalled how dirty my agitator blades and post gets in a very short time. Also don't forget to clean inside your dishwasher under the bottom of the dishwasher door and the gasket that is beneath that bottom edge where you can't see. If your dishwasher leaks at the bottom, you've likely got buildup on that gasket like we had that prevents the door from properly sealing. Also, wash off the bottom of milk and half & half containers before putting them in your fridge.
Great tips Pam. I'd also add, anything you 'handle' (esp in the kitchen or bath) should be cleaned periodically - cabinet/drawer pulls, door knobs, spice jars, buttons on appliances, garbage bin handle/lid, etc. I'm not a 'germaphobe', but it doesn't hurt to include these things we handle daily. Like you I avoid bleach when I can, primarily because bleach is corrosive to any metal and over time can really damage various surfaces. Also, whatever cleaning solution you use, be certain to read the directions. Many, many products require sitting (wet) on the surface for 5 minutes or so in order to actually "disinfect" or sanitize, so just wiping something off may not do anything more than remove the surface 'dirt'. Did you know that your treated city water from your faucet (not well water) contains enough chlorine to kill most common bacteria (which is the purpose of treating the water to begin with, to kill harmful bacteria such as E coli)!
Pam, we are sisters from another mister😂 I do all of these except I never thought of the paper towel thing. I stopped your video to go look and it was atrocious. I had to take care of it and come back and finish your video after I was done lol love your channel. Keep being you.💫💞
I do clean all of those. Plus my towel holders, my toilet paper holders, my shoe racks, soap holders if I use bar soaps for anything….its so nice to know this is normal because my husband thinks I’m nuts. My kids think it’s OCD which I do have but I’m more worried about the germs in our home due to compromised immune systems. I routinely clean my door knobs as well.
@ no. I have multiple autoimmune disorders, husband has congestive heart failure, son has type 1 diabetes and hashimoto’s. We literally catch everything. The only positive is that I don’t have the receptors for Covid. My husband has had it once. Our son thankfully hasn’t had it, but hasn’t had any testing. My worst enemy is the flu. I end up in icu if I get any type of flu.
When I was younger, I moved into a small place. Cleaned everything with Lysol. Couldn't figure out where this smell was coming from in the bathroom. Guess where. The outside/underside of the toilet tank! I have never forgotten that one.
Hmm. I’ve never thought not to take the whole blender apart each time. Didn’t know some considered it optional. I take some kitchen and bathroom items like the drain board, hamper, bowl brush/holder outside to pressure wash them in season. So gratifying!
Such a LUXURY!!! too many people truly do not realize how much of a luxury having [private] outdoor space is, and oft underutilize them. Breaks my heart. Having a _hose,_ let alone a POWERWASHER...What a dream❣
@ It “breaks your heart” that other people own two items that combined cost around $100? Many, many people live outside of cities where even some apartments have some yard access to work with. Mostly, I think my priorities are different in that I am willing to live in a shabby house with an outdated 60s kitchen and old flooring and carpeting, and I drive a 2012 used vehicle I paid 7K for so I can have a private yard … and a pressure washer I bought mainly to prep the house for painting to save money. You’re probably causing yourself a lot of unnecessary heartache if you think you know the sum of one person‘s existence by one line on a UA-cam comment….

Another common one to forget is the base of your coffee machine. I have a Keurig, and it’s easy to forget to wash the metal plate and plastic pull out base the mug sits upon while brewing. It’s always filled with dry, sticky coffee residue.
Excellent video. One of my biggest pet peeves is putting just washed clothes directly back into the same hamper you had the dirty clothes in. Thank you for covering this. Here’s my solution. I use pillow cases to hold dirty clothes. I can put small items (like underwear and socks) in one, dress shirts in another, etc. I just bring the loaded pillow case to the washer, adding the pillow case in the load. Once everything is dried, I hang up shirts and pants, and throw the small items back in the (now clean) pillow case.
The one item that I clean every time I use it is my electric can opener. The cutting blade can get really dirty. Also I wipe down all of the unit including the very bottom before I put it away.
Thx 4 the info pam. Ur amazing!!! I clean all that u mentioned except the laundry basket & the toilet brush & the plunger. U better believe I will now. Thx again. ❤❤

Great advice! And you use the same 3 main ingredients I use to clean with! Dawn & baking soda in a lil water is amazing for the toilet bowl! And I clean almost everything else with vinegar!
Pam, I do all this . On a note, when I got cancer. The Drs told me throw cleaners away & use vinegar, baking soda & alcohol, Peroxide. It all works to sanitize. Cleaners r just chemicals that needs to be rinsed off after cleaning - which is another step to do. I bet most people don't rinse it though. I found it off that they didn't include bleach either!! Thanks for video. People are so freaking NASTY,!!!
@Catty-g4v I agree all of those cleaners are so toxic! I don't even use my microwave anymore (I keep it unplugged)...if it weren't for my bf needing to eat his breakfast early (& heat it quickly), I would throw it out the window!
I try to get as many items as I can that are dishwasher safe.. easier to fully clean. I also use it to clean, in a different load than dishes, things like toe and fingernail clippers, vaccum parts...
I clean my blender completely every time I use it. Clean my dog's bowls every day. The water gets that pink mold in it. I throw his toys in a lingerie bag to clean in washer. Other ones, I put in the dishwasher. Yay on telling about toothbrush holders! I clean them with isopropyl alcohol when I've been sick. Love that rack! I switched to the drawer method, so it's easy to clean as I go. But I love your spice rack! I have separate baskets for clean and dirty clothes. But thank you for saying to clean them. I always clean the edges around my washer. A friend told me I was crazy because the clothes going in are all dirty. My reply? "The clothes coming out are clean!" Mic drop! Excellent job on these!
I _love_ your energy here, Pam. It seems so much more chill, but still sweet and intentional. Feels more authentic and balanced, with no less warmth. Much more welcoming to me. 💖 I'm going to check out your other channels. Happy & Blessed 2025!
I also dry the water well of my Mr. Coffee. Most of the time i use a black coffe maker because it doesn't show coffee stains Last year ,our Mr. Coffee broke and we could only get it in the color white. Well,lo and behold, one day i was about to fill the coffee make r with water, and I noticed the entire bottom of the well was full of blue mold. You would NEVER see this in a black coffee maker. I dry out the water welll every use. Totally freaked me out
You just make me happy with your common sense attitude and your sense of fun. You give such good advice. I've shared your channel with folks I think need more Pam in their lives.
Thank you Pam for all your videos! I normally use soap and water to clean my kettle. I used your method today and my oh my, how easy! I was amazed at all the mineral deposits at the bottom portion of my kettle before I started! Genious!
My daughter fought me tooth & nail there was no need to clean the toilet brush & holder. I didn't want to touch it knowing soap & hot water didn't touch it after a cleaning. I keep a cap of Bleach with water in the holder, which usually evaporates in time for another cleaning. Replace t&b as needed or 3/4 yrs. My plunger is cleaned with Bleach & water and placed in a bag when dry. Trauma from being responsible for cleaning 3 bathrooms 3 days a week for 5 people from 11 to 18 years old.
I use a tall, empty prescription bottle to store my toothbrush in. Just clean with dish soap, then let dry. Be sure to thoroughly clean the toothbrush, then store it upside down, to prevent exposure to splashing toilet water. When the bottle gets cruddy, just replace it, with another one.
Love your videos. Always good info. I like that you don't use harsh cleaners. I love baking soda mixed with a few drops of dish soap and a few drops of water. It mixes into the nicest scrub for pots and sinks.
I use wintergreen alcohol in a spray bottle and clean with...Also spray bottles of vinegar and hydrogen peroxide. You can just spray a laundry basket and other things
I clean my entire blender after each use, which is daily. I buy a new toothbrush at Dollar store just to scrub my blender blade. Gets all the stuff out of the small, hard to clean areas under the blades. Also, scrub that rubber washer between the blade and the bottom cap,and use that same toothbrush to clean the grooves on the bottom screw on cap.
I always clean my blade and the inside of machine where the blade goes. I clean that I made sure it's clean, I just cleaned my electric tea kettle the other day. With vinegar and warm water and dawn dish soap
Also, clean & disinfect kitchen trash cans! The easiest & most sanitary way to clean the toilet brush is to clean it in the toilet bowl. After thoroughly cleaning the toilet, I pour bleach in the toilet water & place the brush in the water. I also spray the handle with a bleach, water, detergent mixture. I also pour this mixture in the brush holder. Let them sit for 15-30 minutes, gently pour hot water over the brush handle to rinse in the toilet. I do the same for the holder. You also wipe the brush handle and holder with disinfectant wipes. Flush the toilet, spray disinfectant cleaner in it, let it sit & flush again!
I always forget to clean the bottom of my hand mixer. I remember to clean the beaters, but the bottom is usually covered with splatters and they’re dried on. But my question is what is the ratio of vinegar to water to clean the toilet bowl and brush?
Don’t forget your refrigerator and freezer handles. Also knobs of any kind. And if you’re like me and still have a landline,, wash those phones.oh , not only the tub area. Thank you, Pam and that’s true. I cleaned them. They need to be clean cause it’s plastic.
From now on I won't forget to clean laundry basket and toilet bowl Brush, thaks Pam!
Thanks so much for sharing! Have a great week! 🙂🥰😘❤
Thank you Pam. I never knew I could take the blade out of the blender. ❤
Not all blenders. I have a vitamix and it doesn't come apart. You actually fill it and run it to clean.
@chiaralistica Thank you for this information. Appreciate it. ❤
You are so welcome!
Thank you for the tips.
Oh my goodness Miss Pam - you have really given me alot to think about. I'm going to be going all through the house tonight that is for sure!
Lol
I _love_ your energy here, Pam. It seems so much more chill, but still sweet and intentional. Feels more authentic and balanced, with no less warmth. Much more welcoming to me. 💖
I'm going to check out your other channels. Happy & Blessed 2025!
I also dry the water well of my Mr. Coffee. Most of the time i use a black coffe maker because it doesn't show coffee stains
Last year ,our Mr. Coffee broke and we could only get it in the color white.
Well,lo and behold, one day i was about to fill the coffee make r with water, and I noticed the entire bottom of the well was full of blue mold. You would NEVER see this in a black coffee maker. I dry out the water welll every use. Totally freaked me out
@@cherylawitherell1800 that’s exactly why I ditched our Keurig! The thought of that reservoir grossed me out bc it can’t be taken apart.
Oh my!!
Good reminders.
Great ideas, many of which I will tackle tomorrow morning, thanks.
What a great video! Thank you for all the reminders.
Maybe I am crazy but i clean my broom often . I also clean my hairbrush every time i shampoo my hair with a baby toothbrush and Dr Bonners
You're not crazy 😊
You just make me happy with your common sense attitude and your sense of fun. You give such good advice. I've shared your channel with folks I think need more Pam in their lives.
Keep up the good job Pam !!
Thank you Pam for all your videos! I normally use soap and water to clean my kettle. I used your method today and my oh my, how easy! I was amazed at all the mineral deposits at the bottom portion of my kettle before I started! Genious!
Thank you Pam for always sharing God bless you and happy New Year ❤
Same to you!
❤Remember to wear household /cleaning gloves in the process. Also to wash/clean them when the job’s done😊
Also your K- cup holders. They catch dirt also. I wipe mine down ever other day.
Fantastic information!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks, Pam! Those were great tips. I never knew about dismantling and washing the blender blade. I will get right on that😊
Love your videos. Always good info. I like that you don't use harsh cleaners. I love baking soda mixed with a few drops of dish soap and a few drops of water. It mixes into the nicest scrub for pots and sinks.
Great tips thanks for this video.
Love your kitchen and that’s it nice and clutter free
Thank you!! 😊
We love all of your ideas! Thank you!❤
Glad you like them!
I use wintergreen alcohol in a spray bottle and clean with...Also spray bottles of vinegar and hydrogen peroxide. You can just spray a laundry basket and other things
@@janelsara6404 i do the same, and alternate with vinegar weekly, and spray disinfectant daily
Pam this was so encouraging. I actually do all of these!!!
Hi Pam, Please tell me the best way to clean laminate flooring. I am guilty of not cleaning the laundry basket!
Thank you yesterday I have containers that I was going through after going through them I decided to spray and clean out the containers
Wonderful!
If you have a filter that attaches to your faucet , before putting on the new filter, take a look inside and clean that also. 👍
THANK YOU MOTHER CLEANING 😄
I just love you! Thank you for sharing your tips! God bless.
You are so welcome
Good video, thank you
Thank you too!
Thank you 😊
I always clean my blade and the inside of machine where the blade goes. I clean that I made sure it's clean, I just cleaned my electric tea kettle the other day. With vinegar and warm water and dawn dish soap
So right,we don’t think about That tank Pam
How about our silicone scraper. I was surprised when I removed the scraper from the handle .Not nice!
Don't forget to clean your washer and dryer, too! Both inside and out. 😊
I always forget to clean the bottom of my hand mixer. I remember to clean the beaters, but the bottom is usually covered with splatters and they’re dried on. But my question is what is the ratio of vinegar to water to clean the toilet bowl and brush?
