Not even 2 full minutes in and you helped me with the problem I had the last time I curled my locs. Too much product! Very informative video. Thank you!
Thank you.. but no lie..I have on the head band Bluetooth and it's 3am when I tell you.. I woke up my whole house from you scaring 20 Years off my life lol.. when u said 🗣" just a little bit" lol I almost jumped fully up yelling ok!! Lol definitely woke me up and I promise I will only use a little bit! Lol thank you for the tutorial & the scare! 💜
Beautiful! My sisterlocks are on the heavier side and I find pipe cleaners to be stressful on my roots while they dry, but if I make the parts smaller (5-10 strands per pipe) then its almost like my head has no space and I can forget about sleeping or reclining. Usually I just braid my hair into a zillion braids and then wear that for a week, but I get cute wavy curls not your bombshell curls. I want your bombshell curls!!😭😭
Great video. Thanks for the Detailed Walk through. I am going to try this soon. I was thinking about get the Wrap a Loc tools but they are much higher. So Will try this. Thanks.
I appreciate the time you took to show this. I especially love how you demonstrate how to get them tighter by pulling down towards the end. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 Thank you. I wasn’t going to try pipe cleaners on my Locs for concern of the spikey look they have but I’ll go check them out and might try this. 🙌🏽🥰🥰🙌🏽 Thanks again.
No problem! So happy you found this helpful :) And pipe cleaners are actually super soft. I recommend using black ones or whatever color matches your hair color. The way I make the pipe cleaner curlers helps with them less spikey; I've never been poked by them! Check out how I make them at the beginning of this video if you've never seen it before 🥰 ua-cam.com/video/N8eqhgUrOkY/v-deo.html
@@ImaniGoodridge it’s just the little spikes, frizzy material it’s made of; makes me think it might snag our Locs but I’ll try it. Thanks so much! 🙌🏽🥰🥰🙌🏽
Thank you so much for this amazing tutorial. I’ve been using setting lotion and wondering why they’d fall. Now I know why! I can’t wait to give it try!
THANK YOU 💋💋💋💋💋. This is the best pipe cleaner curl tutorial I have ever seen!!! I'm going to try this after my re-ti on Monday!!! Have you ever tried Lotta Body Setting Lotion, olde school one, not the mousse? I have used it off and on for 40+ years. I absolutely love it on my sister locks. My style lasts until I shampoo it out. The curls/braidout etc... are firmly shaped but soft and bouncy😍😍😍. It has never caused me any hair damage.
Ahhh thank you 🥺❤️ And I haven’t! I tend to try to keep my hair as product free as possible as it holds curls very well on its own for 3+ weeks. But I’ll definitely have to give it a try if I run into curl hold issues in the future. I may even try it on my mom’s super long sisterlocks! Thanks for the suggestion ☺️
I just need a little more length so I can finally try this style! If I tried it now I'd be looking real young, like Shirley Temple But like I always say...you're hair goals! 😍😍
Glad I found this! Very informative!!! Do you think it be dry and curled before 24 hrs? Like 7 hrs?? I do 2 strand twist and braids and it usually is wavy.. but I know this is different
Thank you! And yes. Length doesn't matter; it's more about the thickness of your locs. As long as the sections aren't too thick, you should be fine. Thicker locs = less locs per section OR smaller locs = more locs per section. Hope this helps! :)
😍Your hair turned out gorgeously! I am seriously considering pipe cleaner curls. But I heard that they can be damaging to locs, as they tangle and tear the locs when being unravelled. Was this your experience?
Thank you! And nope! That's never been my experience. My hair has never torn or go tangled in them. I guess it depends on how someone sets them; but my way is simple and tangle free for me!
My Pipe Cleaner Curls Tips
- Use minimal product
- Curl on freshly washed, damp hair
- "Curl & Push” Curling Method
- Uncurl when fully dry (air drying takes about 24-72 hours depending on hair thickness & length)
- Patience & Practice :)

How many pipe cleaners roughly did you use please ? Or maybe a range as we have similar loc size.
Thank you so much
Great Video! Thank You
Is it possible to do this look all the time or is it damaging?
I wish I had your patience..😂💜 your Crown is Beautiful.😍
Lol it takes practice. And thank you!☺️❤️
How long did your curls last?
2-3+ weeks
Thank you!! You were talking straight to me when you yelled JUST A LITTLE BIT! LMAO
I knew somebody needed to hear it haha :)
Beautiful! Do you suggest 8-9 locs on a pipe cleaner on shorter locs. Mine are just past my ear.
