- Welcome to my let's play of Detroit: Become Human! This was another highly requested game and I'm finally playing it!
I was not ready at all for this episode. The choices I had to make were crazy. I never felt so much regret in such a long time. I will say a lot of outcomes I didn't expect to happen and it now makes me scared to make choices in future episodes T_T.

@@Blackrose128simple answer: they don't. Humans need to eat to fill their blood with elements we need to function. Androids just change their fuel and biocomponents when needed.
I think you didn't get the "optimal stress" thingy 😂 you had to stress him a bit for hil to talk but not too much for him not to destroy himself 😂 but its okay, no regret! 😂😂

Hank and Connor are the best part of the game. Their friendship, if they get along well, is everything. But I really wanted to have a chance to romance Hank when I was playing.

The confrontation between Leo and Markus ends pretty much the same either way, the main difference is that if you fight back he has more grounds to accuse you. But also dang that was a really smooth escape from Todd with Kara!!

I didn't know Marcus could go into the studio without Carl, this was my first time seeing that. I chuckled at you saying after the police investigate, maybe they'll see that Marcus didn't do anything. The police came in guns blazing, there won't be an investigation. lol
Don't feel too bad about the interrogation at the police station. From what I've seen, a lot of people had a hard time with the stress level on that part.

Good the Markus scene always gets me. Because on one hand I know it's the hatred towards androids that gets Markus shot BUT ALSO YOUD THINK SOMEONE LIKE CARL (who is famous) would at the very least have people who KNOW Markus and his situation with his son. So it's just...a lot of factors that are missing. But I also fully understand why it happened.
That scene made me feel so bad 😭
For real! Marcus placed the call, so they know that the man's android made the call and that there was a possible intruder. They show up, find the homeowner dead, with no visible wounds, the android leaning over him, there's a sketchy looking guy there, who immediately blames the android, and they don't stop to ask questions.
There was a path you could’ve taken to where you killed Todd but like the game says “you can’t go back” 😂

i think i remember that before going into alice's room, you could go into todds and get his gu.n, then when the game offers you the choice of joining alice or confront todd, then you take out the gu.n

I do think the wording is a bitt odd or a lot of players might miss understand the “optimal stress level”
It doesn’t really tell that you need to get the stress level higher so I can understand why lot of people fail to get any information out of the deviant
Idk that’s my opinion of it
Cuz I think they could’ve word it like “Get the stress level higher to a certain point to get the deviant to confess” or something along those lines
But my point is that it could’ve been better if they just directly tell the player to get the stress level higher
Anywayssss I still love to see the different outcomes and how people react to those❤

Quantic Dream is the company that made this game. They've made other games with similar controls, one of which is called Heavy Rain. You're again playing several characters but this time to try to find a serial killer that's on the loose. It was the first "serious" video game I ever played, and I got the worst ending where everyone dies and the killer gets away.
All that to say: DON'T WORRY ABOUT SAD OUTCOMES! It's a part of the experience of QD games! They're the masters at making stories that really hit you, so take everything in stride!
Also Markus is Like That™ because he's modelled after and played by the fine ass woke ass Jesse Williams.

Tbf nearly every LP I've watched, the player fails the interrogation; people seem to go with their gut instead of the information presented to you ("Too Low/Too High", the colors of the words, and the box indicating the sweet spot to stay in). They also miss the android's initial reaction to being probed. Good learning exp though
It's a bit more of a toss up with Markus vs Leo, but it seems like LPers I've seen think the calm/listen to the human approach is the "right" answer
Same with Kara and Alice looking for shelter; the path to the most comfortable shelter requires you to be more realistic than ideal and the majority of LPers miss it as well.
I can't wait to see more though, and see where you end up :3
I will say, for you rose, take a moment to BREATHE when those tense moments come up. You miss a lot of important information on the screen when panicked. Which is how Connor wound getting shot. I'm not gonna go into detail cause there's like five other comments. BUT GIRL BREATHE PLEASE

The little box area on the meter shows the level of stress needed. You don’t want to stress him out too much but you can’t have his stress be too low or else he won’t confess (which leads you to probing his memory which just makes his stress go to 100)
The interrogation was meant to be played as the "good cop/bad cop" trope, so Connor who is both had to stress the android enough for him to talk. I'm glad you didn't rewind for Marcus and listened to the game advice tho!
I knew it was going to happen, when you weren't stressing this android. You actually was supposed to do it, so you could get an optimal stress, but because you did it nicely he didn't told you anything. And of course when you probed his memory it was just game over for Connor haha. But I loved your choices and that made me realize you're really sweet person who would do anything to make their friends happy.
I think it was the intervening in the situation bc others haven’t probe his memory and still died

Love how your first instinct after Carl's heart attack was to go fix it, but very happy that you listened to main menu lady. (Also kind of crossing my fingers this is a sign we might get a second playthrough at some point. This game has SO MANY endings, but as with many choice games, I love seeing the main three ones: first blind playthrough, trying-for-good-ending and trying-for-bad-ending)
And I know someone already said it, but don't worry too much about messing up the interrogation. I've seen so many playthroughs where people just tried to keep the stress low instead of raising it to the right level for confession.

The funny thing is that this is still the beginning of the game. Sh*t is just starting.
The thing about the situation with Marcus, Carl, and his son, is that Carl tells Marcus not to do anything, but he spent the whole earlier chapter telling Marcus to think and figure out who he is for himself. Then, after Marcus obeys, leading Carl to die of a heart attack in the process, he again tells Marcus not to let anyone tell him who he is. By obeying Carl, he essentially went against what Carl has been trying to teach him.
I liked your reaction to Carlos Ortiz’s body. I played the game in 2018 and have done many playtroughs now and I get disgusted every time I do this chapter. Also you’ve now seen RA9 (the crazy obsessive writing in the shower.) You are free to make theories on it. The game never truly explains what RA9 is. 5 years later we still have people theorizing on RA9 including me.

About the Kara & Alice Storyline: you could have totally killed Todd. Remember that you found a gun in his bedroom while you were cleaning in the first instance of the Kara-Storyline? You could have grabbed that and then kill him in self-defense. But I mentioned it earlier, every decision you take will have a consequence sometimes very late down the line. So you can look forward to what will happen with the choices you make!
Edit 1: God the Markus Storyline always gives me heartaches. I cried when I first played it and the same thing happened 😂😂
Edit 2: Love how the indicator of stress level in the android during Connor's interrogation constantly said "Too Low" and Rose still went the nicest route possible 😂😂😂

Like you were wondering about the different endings with Todd and I really want to tell you but I don't want to spoil anything if you're planning on playing again and try different choices ^^' ... BTW, please try to ignore people who say you made "wrong" choices, the whole point of this game is to make decisions and your own unique story ❤

You could've killed Todd by taking the gun from his room earlier, when you put back the medication. At least that's what I did once:)

But but you really tested my patience in the interrogation, I literally started with the brutal ones and started calming afterwards😂
When I first played this game, I had to fight with Todd and Alice even died (the conflict in the room at 34:40) As a PC owner, I had bought a Playstation for the first time especially for this game. The game didn't yet exist for the PC. So I had no practice at all with the Playstation controls. I had problems pressing the right buttons fast enough :-) I think the game was over even when Alice died. But I played the game several more times to get to know all the possible paths. I also really enjoy watching Blackrose play here.
I’m not gonna lie I didn’t want to stress the android out at first in though the same way 😭😭but I played this full game 4 times in each time I picked something different learn something different there’s so many things to do in the game

I think the interrogation part is probably the hardest, its hard to maintain the optimal level stress plus also preventing it from self-destructing

I just wanted to pop in rq and rell you that you're one of the best let's players I know! You're thorough and try to take your time to interact with everything, instead of just rushing through, you accept when you make mistakes and try to learn from them. You're a delight to watch (even when that interrogation scene had me ripping out my hair, ngl XD) and I'm very glad I found you!

I understand you wanted to be nice with the Carlos Ortiz android, but that wasn't what you should have done... The game asked you to reach the optimal stress, you had a marker showing you where it was, that meant you had to stress him but not too much and not too low... You've been lower and lower, even if the game told you it was too low... And to finish, you made the worst choice you could make : probe his memory... I tell you for the next time you'll play this game you need to stress him until you reach the marker, and never ever probe his memory
She has no clue how this is gonna mess with the rest of her playthrough and I'm so ready to see her reaction

I was today years old when i realized you can just go to a certain chapter and replay it, meaning, after i completed the game for the first time, i wanted to change some stuff around. But instead of going to that chapter, i replayed the ENTIRE game for no reason
I haven't seen a playthrough of this game since jacksepticeye 5 years ago. I'm so, so enjoying this gameplay with you. You're so entertaining to watch! Can't wait for more!

I noticed that the stats on the sex article don't match up (which I didn't notice when I played): 68% of men preferred sex with androids, but only 52% said they'd tried it before... 🤔
You know they put in that line about sticking with your first choices on your first play-through because the devs knew people were going to have the same reaction you had at some point during the game 😂😭

Tho this is an overkill, so room for that defence would be slim anyway, unless you could argue something like temporary insanity from a history of abuse. But again, how much do we wanna bet androids don't have laws like that.
33:38 This is an EXTREMELY interesting thing to see. When Androids are given an instruction, it quite literally cages them to do it. They aren't physically capable of disobeying, unless like Kara, they're already in some way malfunctioning (her little circle thing keeps changing colour - perhaps because she's developing emotions after years of abuse, and watching Alice get abused - 34:39 even indicates that even when they reset her, Kara still has those emotions)

I'm sorry my comments for Detroit have been so long both times. This is a game I've been wanting to play for years, but never had the chance. And I have been so impressed with it thus far. I love how they very easily get us attached to all three of our protagonists and their stories, and for things to go so wrong so early is really interesting. You have a really great lineup of games you're playing right now!
I'm honestly hooked on this game. It's bad enough I get attached to characters normally but I'm really attached to ALL of them in this game 😭❤. I still can't believe things escalated so quick out of no where 😭😭😭(Your long comments are so enjoyable to read ❤🥰)
