As a fellow aspirant, reach out to the vocations director of your local province. He'll be able to show you the path into the order should you and he determine you might be a good fit.

I love hearing how Mary and Christ call forth their warriors here on earth. We, as lay people, need to support and pray for our priests.. the evil one' literally on the move in these times and we need to support those willing to walk into the devil' crosshairs.

I wanted to become a Saint Joseph Province Dominican… (My mentor and spiritual director was Father Val LaFrance, OP - AND - I had four (4) Aunts who were Adrian Dominican Sisters!).... When I attended a “come and see“ weekend at the House of Studies, DC (I had just finished my Masters Degree in Music / Liturgy) … I was absolutely shocked & heartbroken at how rude and belittling the brothers who were there at the time were... not just to me… But to several other wonderful young men who really were hoping to find peace & welcome! I am now a fully professed Franciscan Brother. I very much remember how hurt & abandoned I felt when I left DC!!!… Now when a young man approaches me with the same interests & questions I had… I go out of my way to let him know that everyone has gifts to bring to the church of God… Regardless of race, color, orientation, and education level.

It is nice to be back in touch with you again and share my thoughts with
The "Feedback" that I give is not something that I can take credit for. It just happens right out of thin air. I don't copy right anything because this information is being shared with me freely. So I share it freely.
I have questions and recollections racing through my thoughts. Unsolved mysteries. Why the government seems to be more than one government trying to rule. And the newest revelation is than somebody has in mind to be King of the Whole World and Rule the whole world. I am Catholic but I don't think that Catholics should rule the world.
I have questions about why government killed all of those people in Haiti. I have questions about why government killed all of those people in Guyana. I have questions about why government is surprisingly indifferent to the extremely toxic, caustic, depraved and vicious, criminal, subversive activities of Clandestine corporations here in the US. Our government, at times, makes no sense to me because it does harm and injury and damage to its own people, and on the other hand is generously beneficent to it's own people?
I don't want to assimilate. I believe in God, and in Jesus Christ His only begotten Son.
I believe that I am requires to refrain from evil, and resist evil. I have an instinctive feeling, and some reading material which vaguely alludes to the idea that there is a very, very dark side to the Illuminati, even though there is a lot of Illumination. Every legal corporation seems to have a Ying and ☯️ Yang including a good side which ministers to me, but also dark side which is unpredictable and malevolent, pathological, and morbid. Like classic novel Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Hyde the Reprobate and Jekyll the saint.
It's just too volatile to be taken for granted and underestimated to doom.

@@jenifferkimeu5759 the reason most communities have age restrictions is because 1) if you are too young, you aren’t mature enough/lack the life experience necessary, 2) if you are too old, you become a burden to the community if you don’t finish formation before you turn 50. The church needs young and vibrant religious

It largely depends on the religious and the needs and circumstances of the province in which you live. Some provinces have a lower cutoff than others: for instance, in the US, the Eastern province, as of the time of writing, has an upper age limit of 35 while the Southern province has an upper age limit of 40. Other provinces will have other age limits or no upper age limit. With that said, these rules can be bent based on other factors like your level of education or experience. If you feel the calling, contact your local vocations director and talk about the possibilities with him. Get a spiritual director, too. It may be that your calling is to Dominican spirituality and not necessarily life in the First Order of the Order. Lay Tertiaries serve an important role, and in some ways serve as a greater witness than the priest can due to their perceived closer proximity to the people. I know this was posted a year ago, but I'll be happy to pray for your continued discernment.
