- The First Semi-Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 will take place on Tuesday 10 May live from the PalaOlimpico, Turin, Italy. Ten acts will qualify for the Grand Final on Saturday 14 May.

Those who are surprised with Moldova … gosh he is a real showman and he knows how make people move. It was colourful, it was fun … between all those ballads it stood out. Moldova was lucky to perform during the first semifinal that’s all.

I have mixed feelings about these results. I'm very happy for Lithuania and Moldova (it was really unexpected, I didn't even dare to hope anymore given the other participants), but I'm also extremely disappointed that Albania and Latvia didn't qualify.
Big Up for Moldova's surprising performance, it was refreshing.
Albania was rubbish, Song was trash, styling bad, and she was just screaming. Croatia deserved it more.
I love the song, but sadly Ronela ruined it with the new staging and her outfit... should have kept it in a more traditional way as she did in the national selection, that was AMAZING! This did not fit to the song at all... Also her vocals weren't the strongest - as we know from the national selection and the pre-parties, she can do much better:///

I am so sad our queen Ronela didn't qualify... Latvia too. Their performances were among the top 5 for me. but at the same time I'm so happy for Moldova! I wasn't expecting them to pass so I danced hard throughout the song thinking it was gonna be performed on stage only once hahaha!!

This semi-final was a landslide victory for the slower-paced and quieter songs: Switzerland AND Lithuania AND Iceland qualified, which I never thought would happen (Netherlands, Greece and Portugal would gobble all the points leaving nothing for similar songs). I would still happily trade Norway for Latvia or even Denmark, who really showed themselves as worthy contenders in this competition

Have to say, while most agree that semifinal 2 is stronger i think its just full of middling songs that could all qualify, while semifinal 1 had the obvious non qualifiers (croatia, iceland, switzerland, bulgaria, albania...) but they were not enough and some good songs got robned because high competition at the top, while some (moldova) buy votes
