    50 years ago David gentleman made a watercolor sketch sitting exactly at the same place you were sketching. It it seems not only history but also art also repeats itself.

    Thank you for this inspirational video. Can you specify the make/model of the camping chair you are using? For some reason, a lightweight chair with back support but without arms is almost impossible to find in the States!

    Hi Sophia, I love your art style. Can you please tell me how you find inspiration. I have creative urges often but I can never figure out what to paint. Thanks! Lots of Love

      Hi Akshita, thanks for your sweet comment. 😊 As far as your question goes on where I find the inspiration, I too have days when I feel uninspired to paint but one needs to treat art like any other important task - set a non negotiable time and just start work. It may not turn out to be a masterpiece but each time one creates, one learns 😊 Another thing one needs to stop doing is comparing oneself with another. And thirdly, be assured that with consistent practise, one will improve. That’s all there is to it 😜

      @@theabcworkshop This is helpful, thank you so much!. Also I have mainly confined myself to watercolour landscapes and I also want to do some still life. Since your sketchbooks are full of them, I was wondering if you could guide me to sources that would help me learn. Thanks again

    • @theabcworkshop
      @theabcworkshop  3 роки тому +2

      Akshita Rai I admire artists who can paint landscapes effortlessly. 💕I instinctively enjoy still life more since it’s easier to observe and sketch. I have several books on the subject but nothing helps more than keeping an object in front of you and doing a value study. Take any object- stationery items, utensils, fruits and vegetables. Draw them individually or arrange them as groups, different view points. And there is so much free resource available on the internet to kick start and inspire. All the best and keep me posted with your progress ❤️

    The watercolor cup from Faber castle is so expensive........I mean 2000 rupees for a cup!!

      Agreed. Lot of the imported products are expensive in Indian markets. Hope some Indian brand can start making something similar. 😊

      She is using Chitrapat 440gsm/640gsm. They are a good and cheaper alternative to Arches which all watercolorists swear by.

      Rj Rivi aah!!! I finally figured out which spray bottle you are referring to. Apologies for my delay in spotting it. It’s actually a face mist spray bottle that came in an airline travel kit. I don’t think it’s available to purchase but if I come across anything similar, I’d definitely let you know 👍🏻
