  • Christopher Windfield is an nationwide award-winning contemporary realist painter, filmmaker and illustrator from Jackson, Mississippi. Windfield’s paintings pay homage to his experiences and culture while finding beauty within everyday people and bringing it to life with mixed mediums to create a strikingly visual story. The driving force behind his artwork is an enduring interest in people, race, society, and Humanism, examining the dynamics of African American people, theories and how society paints pictures that either promote or hinder the progress within the Black community. From a young age, Windfield has adopted the belief that art is not what you see, but what you make others see. The artist earned a bachelor’s degree in graphic design from Jackson State University and a masters in web design and new media from Academy of Art University. He hopes that his work startles viewers and encourages them to ask questions that may traditionally be deemed as taboo.
