How to move a washer downstairs
Step one: Hire this guy.
The gentleman moving the washing machine takes pride in his work. He is a professional. I would choose him to do my moving. Hopefully his partner will be inspired to be more positive and adopt similar work habits.
I deal with the same it’s just one has a boss lead mentality and the other has a workers mentality.... moving is extremely hard and although you may not see manni as professional as ol boy he will always be there, he’s strong and he’s loyal
Man if I could afford a mover I could, yall are so pro, learned some great tips watching your videos. Thank you!
👍. Thank goodness for good professional movers. They earn every $ they get.
I bet my boss would appreciate your videos. We work for Veterans Moving America.
This actually gave me a good idea on how to install my front loading dryer and washer as I was trying to place the dryer on the pedestal "after" the pedestal was in place...which was quite a "lift" for a tight spot. Instead now I'll move the dryer to an open area along with the pedestal, attach them together there...and then place the dryer.
Well done.
Don't admit you did that
Love, did you take pride in your Work we need more people like you .
Thanks for sharing the video in a very professional way.
You just saved my back from having to be replaced 😃 I have to go help my friend move a dryer at 10 🤘 This video was clutch😎
Man😆..We had both the washer/dryer downstairs and loaded within 15-20 minutes👍 I sent him the video before I went over there and we knocked it out #NoSweat Thanks again☺
Excellent idea to use shrink wrap foil on top of blankets. Funny little argument in the beginning of the video. :-) Thanks for sharing.
You gave me such a great idea of removing the washer from the pedestal all alone.
They did a great job. The only criticism I would have is that there was no mention of installing the shipping bolts in the washer. They might have been installed prior to the video. But I didn't see the movers bounce around the unit very much in handling so they are probably OK.
EDIT:
I succeeded! Granted, I didn't have to move it UP the stairs, but down the stairs, up and down the ramp in the moving truck, and in and out of an elevator then into one storage unit then into another at the same storage facility, all with myself, any help from God, and a uhaul appliance dolly with its built in strap.
ORIGINAL:
This is useful. Thank you! It confirms I should be able to move my washer on my own given a sufficient dolly and ratchet straps.
Great job. Good prep, shows you are professional. A jack leg mover would have scratched the appliance. Customers do not want their stuff scratched, and landlords do not like damage to walls.
This was both entertaining and informative! 🤘🤣👍
Well, that was certainly uneventful. No cursing, no wrestling it, no appliance flying down the stairs and no people flying down the stairs. Oh, that's why it wasn't titled "How NOT to get your washer down the stairs". Good job!
Very helpful and professional thank you
No overly complicated explanations. Just do what I do... 😂
Nice.y done! Many thanks for sharing your expertise.
very good!! . But you can save plastic by wrapping a strong strap instead of plastic - just use plastic on the item not for the dolly , that;s the only thing I would change Thanks!!
Nice job can you video for how to move it upstair for appartement
Now add a twist in the stairs and hard wood flooring and finished walls to a real basement
And a real washer machine because that one is a dryer, more light.
Easy Peasy with a standard 27" width side to side unit... A whole nother animal with a 29" wide 5.2 cu ft mega capacity unit.
actually starts moving at 7:40
We have all the amenities of electric vehicle super fast computer drone and still dealing with washing machine with the size of a house. :(
What?
@@mutt8553 I think he's bemoaning the fact that washers are all computerized and automated yet they're still so big
Excellent!
This is a great demonstration, thank you.
Legit video all action awesome 👌
What did he initially put under front to pull it out?
I needed your services today!
You make it look so easy to move this heavy washer with the Magliner hand truck. I'm wondering if I'd be able to move my own washer and dryer as you did. I'm not super strong, but thought I'd ask if you are relying on mostly muscle power to balance the load on the hand truck as you move down the stairs, or is most of the weight levied against the hand truck? I'm not super strong, but wonder if this could be an option for me - I'd call you, but I'm way out of area! :-)
Thanks so much. I think I'll leave it to the professionals!
I know this reply is 3 years after your comments, but following this video's cue, I succeeded moving my washer down the stairs from my former 2nd floor apt and more (didn't need to move it up any stairs though) with a uhaul appliance dolly (which comes with a strap and strap-tightening lever setup). With whatever applicable help from God, the most strength required was with controlling it down each stair step, and then going up and down the truck ramp with it.
I have one of those washer and dryer combos where their stacked on top of each other that thing is very heavy it weighs probably close to 300 pounds I had to help the delivery guys bring it in the house.
Glad you helped a lot of people will watch until something breaks or happens then call in like yup they broke it 😂😭
Great job What kinda of dolly is it?
Lol thanks may seem like common sense but i almost broke my foot doing this and lost my 600 dollar dryer in the process
Thanks
Amazing!
Great video! Thanks for sharing. I learned a lot.
listen to that drum getting tossed about OMG
hello, nice videos! please what is the thing you put on the bottom of the washer to slide it?
Rescue Moving Services
Thank you bro!
He made seem sooooo easy for me just the washer would of been a 1 hour job
He a Pro. You a Warrior.
So are all pedestals solid under the bottom so you can use a handtruck? I have a LG and getting ready to move in a couple of days, Thanks.
🧐🧐🤭🤭 now I know why I was working by myself ..lol
LOl
I am a dinosaur. That shut him up:)
What are the little coaster things called you slid under the washer?
👍🏼 good work homie
Isn't it better to go up the ramp walking backwards?
Good job!!! 💪😁 why is manny 305 sounding like a hater 😂😂😂😂 all good tho💪😁
Impressive!
Where can I buy those sliding pads?
Curious why the tray under the washer was not removed first? Also why the washer is not strapped to the dolly? Perhaps the pros don't need to do that ?
was this a special dolly for the stairs or a regular dolly?
this dolly has sliders built on for maneuvering on stairwells.
What king of dolly do y’all use?
What did he use underneath
Slight waste of plastic.. u could prob use a bit less (y’all know, for the environment). But other than that, solid move!
He’s using the wrong moving pads, those are for carpet, the ones for tile have felt underneath so it will slide on the tile
Hey bro are those wheels air filled or foam filled? Tnx
What make and model is that handtruck
Before moving machines the transit bolts should be RE-added to prevent drum movement not a blanket. Especially in heat pump dryers where there's a refrigerant. Once placed these dryers then need a minimum of 6 hours to settle. It's pointless protecting the outside if you're not going to re install transit bolts. As professional movers shouldn't you be advising that?
moving jobs may need the help of robots. it gives me feels of some idea
Why do you need such a monster dryer
Dont put the camera on the way I'm working😆😆😆
Can't find the magliner . Is it named magliner ?
@@RescueMovingServices Thx
@@RescueMovingServices thanks! 👍
This is a good attempt however not the way professional appliance installers would do it. You are using the wrong hand truck, you need one with a strap or 2 straps preferably, and rollers for the stairs. An appliance this heavy could easily damage the stairs with the non roller sliding type of hand truck your using, and the wheels are too large. Also you should not attempt stairs without a helper. If you were to slip there is no stopping that 300 pound machine from killing somebody had they walked passed the steps.
Arent you supposed to pull a dolly as much as possible rather than pushing it?
Yeah... Try pulling one down the stairs...!
Dinde puedo conseguir ese hand truck por favor desde PR saludos
After such a professional job you ended by pushing the dolly up a ramp? Oh my heart dropped when I saw that.
OMG that’s enough plastic wrap jeez. Thinking of all that ending up in the garbage!
How are you doing this
Were those felt discs or plastic?
To be able to take that down a flight of stairs alone is impressive but without the shipping bolts being placed back into the machine I’m sure the customer had to replace the their washer.
Still impressive though.
Watch from 7:00
One washmachine 10 minute. Slowly.
Where you got the cover ? I mean what's the name of this cover ?
Jesus Christ... It's a couple of $7 ea Harbor Freight moving blankets...!
@@williamriley2528 thanks
I think we are taking a dryer
What are those things he is using to move it?
Sliders
@@RescueMovingServices Thanks!!
You're welcome:)
Avoid living on the 2nd floor or higher
I'm moving in 2 weeks, and I don't have any help. I don't have enough furniture to justify hiring movers, but I have enough that I need help...or maybe I dont. Guess who is gonna try to bump her dresser and bookshelf down the stairs on a dolly now...
Rescue Moving Services Maryland might be a little far for you! Lol
Use TaskRabbit next time!
You don’t need any wrap or pads for a laundry machine lol wtf. Poor customer getting filmed and overcharged
I dont like my appliances dented and scratched. Some people dont care.
Aprendi algo saludos
de nada y hay estamos para mas. gracias
Now that's what I call a professional mover... I cant say the same about your partner though.
why not use a two man dolly
Partner look & sound lazy
well that washer is ruined ! you didnt bolt down the drum where's the shipping bolts that came with washer you need to re install them when moving a washer like this every man knows this !
might as well throw it out now
راحل ولا رايح تخدمها برك وتقلبها
you have to hate trying to get appliances out of tight places I made skids that make getting appliances out of tight places easy you just slide under and inflate it and slide it out no lifting check them out at shankfloortools.com
Oh a front load just shove it down
What a waste of cling film
