SOUTH ISLAND MODIFIED CHAMPIONSHIP 2023.
Wow, 25 Laps of Modified action, great number rolled out, and it was on from drop of the flag.
Fantastic to see some of the North island Modified drivers come al the way down to fight it out for the South island title, thrilled to see the Brad Lane 1NZ back down here, but geee what a wild night for him, bit of a spin early on with the good ol Garry Lennon 9C carrying the "FLASHBACKMEDIA05" logo coming to a stop with slight contact. But both rejoined, The Lennon machine dam lucky to get to the end, as after the race, little inspection showed inside rim dented, thankfully not popping it of the bead, but later on took me by surprise, the 1NZ clipped the Thompson rear tyre and hell on wheels, it was into the wall, with extensive front end damage. Heres hoping the team managed to fix it over night and ready to smash it out tonight at Woodford Glen Speedway for the New Zealand Grand Prix.
Absolutely stellar performance by the 18C of Jacob Mitchell. By crikey, this kid can fly and well deserved, great clean race and what a cool donut, with chequered flag in hand, to bring the end of a great night at Woodford Glen.
