  • Mental Health Education Day 2021: Celebrating Resilience
    Thank you to all who participated in our 4th annual Mental Health Education Day!
    Our program included a Resiliency Panel featuring key speakers (see below), breakout groups reviewing self-care and wellness activities/strategies for pharmacy teams, and a mindful meditation practice.
    A big thank-you to everyone for being open and sharing your stories with us; we are honored to continue to develop events & programming that promote discussion surrounding mental health, connection within our communities, and dissemination of mental health strategies & resources.
    Panel speakers with living experience in resilience:
    • Chris Cochrane (@krisnoir) is a Halifax Trans Activist, Educator, and has been a voice for Black Trans womxn and works daily to make sure to take up space for her community. Chris also sits as The Vice Chair of Halifax Pride.
    • Leanne Taylor (@leataylor8) had thought that the only way she would be enjoying the Olympic/Paralympic games was on the television but what started out as her life’s greatest tragedy turned into an opportunity of a lifetime.
    • Shayla Stonechild (@shayla0h) has always been a catalyst towards Indigenous youth and womxn unlocking their full potential by reclaiming their voices, bodies and spirits that have been silenced and stolen throughout history.
    Mindful meditation:
    • Guided by nurse practitioner Sarah Cochrane, who specializes in and researches trauma-informed yoga practices
    Conference packages featured goodies from BIPOC-owned companies:
