Fun Fact: the pre-Transformers Trainbots were a part of the same toy line as Devastator? They were added in Headmasters to counter Predaking because they couldn't use Skylynx.
Ooh, a combiner from The Headmasters? That's cool! (No pun intended) The Headmasters (and most of the Japanese Transformers works) have always been pretty underrated IMO
Some people actively try to evangelize the belief that they're all bad and would even go as far as saying that the Japanese shouldn't have been allowed to do a take on Transformers, which is ironic considering the origin of the G1 toys that inspired the Sunbow show.
@Wally Webbs Those key events you mentioned are all over the timeline of the season lol. All of this so they could give a push for certain characters, meant to advertise brand new toys at the time. Galvatron is sent packing twice, the second time near the end of the season to put more emphasis on Scorponok, Rodimus left pretty early after Optimus also died so Chromedome and soon after Fortress Maximus could be the main leader of the Autobots, and Ultra Magnus was killed off at about 2/3 of the way to make the audience pay attention to Sixshot.
I recommend getting this because when everyone is combined this version of Raiden looks way better while MPG Raiden in the other hand doesn’t look as solid.
One of the only occasions I can recall when a 3P is both Larger and less expensive than the actual TT/Hasbro product. I have pre ordered the official MPG Shouki. I understand it will be smaller than Moon Studios, and that's fine. If the quality is good enough then I'll keep going, if not I may switch over to the Moon Studio version.
"It's just a refrigerator." Words to live by. Based on the size of that foot mode, I think a new category may have to be developed to describe the forthcoming combined mode. 'Fuge' might be an understatement.
Yukikaze is actually a reference to the WW2 Japanese Destroyer that fought in many of the largest battles at sea, including the battle of Midway, Santa Cruz and Leyte Gulf just to name a few.
Coming back to this playlist with the benefit of hindsight (after the trainwreck of Takara's MPG version, pun very much intended), I wish I picked these figures up when I had the chance
I kinda want to see Yukikaze and Shouti together as those two are brothers! And I personally would have them all in their alt mode all connected on the track.
They're not built in they parts form but they do store in train mode and robot mode they store in a cavity in the back of the robot and bottom of the train and it gets covered up by the backpack so there's no combined mode kibble for the arm bots
This model is reminiscent of TFC's combiners- a panel bot. Personally I don't have a problem with that but I am still going to hold out for Takara's Raiden.
That train mode is absolutely gorgeous. The bot mode is so basic but I know it's accurate. Not my thing. I would be tempted to get the set just for the train display.
So they are making affordable train bots!! Looks pretty sturdy. They made 4 of the 6 members so far as opposed to the super expensive Takara one. Could you use Thomas Astrotrain as a comparison too?
@@emgo316 I just got the Dark Knight, with Ice Land close behind. You're right, in hand the plastic quality is very good. Reminds me of Unique Toys Sworder almost with that matte-soft plastic material. Looking forward to your reviews of the rest of the team!
Hey @Emgo316, When you added the magnetic coupling, do you notice any paint chipping on the plastic or does that plastic piece feel in any way that it will break? Just looks like it'd be something scary to chance using. I'm waiting on my first two trains to arrive soon and was looking for your thoughts. Thanks for a great review as always!
It will be interesting to compare Radiatron to HasTak's MP Raiden. When both sets are complete. Cynically I'd say Moon Studios effort is the only reason Takara even bothered to acknowledge Raiden for the first time in decades.
Hahahaha🤣.. i like that toy.. i hope it comes here in the Philippines.. i hope soon you will show the combiner mode "Raiden" in your next content sir.. God bless your channel!..
Not Big Boy... Union Pacific & Galaxy Railway joke there. But the Noel Galaxy Express 999 floating train is nice for my "N Scale"(1:150th scale) train display

Idk skylynx is an original usa bots?
@@kamal_jab Skylynx was originally made by one of Takara's competitors so they didn't want to release his toy.
Yes they were both part of the same Diaclone sub-line, they were always advertised together in Japan, and these pre-Constructicons were good guys
@@spacejockey9223 they were until Megatron turned them to the dark side...I meant con side.

18:11 “Hot hot! Oh, we got it! Hot hot! Hey, we got it! Hot hot! So, we got it! Hot chocolate.”
Yukikaze:"does the refrigerator have a good personality?"
Optimus: "it's just a refrigerator"
Yukikaze:"so, is that a yes?"
I literally know nothing about theses characters but I love theses figures already lol
I'm still extremely torn between this version and the Takara one cause both have their merits and it's so hard to choose. Great video as always tho!!
Why not get both? Get one now get the other later

The wheels fit on the outside of Lego tracks

Starting to get real worried about the Alien Attack Megatron…hope he didn’t suffer the fate of Toyworld BB Prime 🤣
It’s coming. Just a change of plans.
@@emgo316 I see, I think you’ll be the first English review of him so I’m looking forward to it! Keep up the good work and happy new year!

@@emgo316 If all good I'm buying. If not I'm out. So looking forward to your review.
According to TFWIKI Yukikaze means Snowy Breeze so Iceland is a very appropriate name.
Yukikaze is actually a reference to the WW2 Japanese Destroyer that fought in many of the largest battles at sea, including the battle of Midway, Santa Cruz and Leyte Gulf just to name a few.
Also, Iceland is actually green, while Greenland is not green.
In my opinion a comparison with Thomas FT44 was necessary here
Honestly think these look better in some ways then the MP versions being released. Like this looks cleaner than the Yuki Takara is doing.
Coming back to this playlist with the benefit of hindsight (after the trainwreck of Takara's MPG version, pun very much intended), I wish I picked these figures up when I had the chance
All aboard the Crazy Train.
This looks better than the official.
Man we need zeta to make more combiners. This looks awesome
Guess we’re not getting a video for Alien Attack Mackron. Too bad, I was really looking forward to it
It’s coming. Just a change of plans.
The gap at the front of the train is a total pain. Mine closes, but I really have to mess with it and squeeze with all my might.
Going to be Constructor sized, at least. He might be one of the largest combiners you've ever owned/reviewed.
Just received my figured yesterday. Can’t go wrong with this set. My copies came with the same weapons, glad you didn’t have that mishap.
Holy Unicron the combiner is going to be huge

I am really not a fan of trains transformers, but this one really nailed it. Pretty clean back and forth transformation.
More 1k and you be half million subscribers finally, Much love
This was a bit harder to transform for me compared to dark knight. I used your video. Thanks a lot!
I just noticed that it comes with magnets that attach to lego trains huh
22:23 hurray for combining instructions!
Can't wait to see this in full combiner
This model is reminiscent of TFC's combiners- a panel bot. Personally I don't have a problem with that but I am still going to hold out for Takara's Raiden.
When I saw the title I was excited because I thought it was a Transformer of the Yukikaze jet from the anime of the same name. Still, cool review!

I really like this guy! Trying to get the train and foot mode to tab together can be challenging but otherwise awesome!
I would like to propose that „tap in the palm/slot in the weapon“ might be referred to as „the GunPla method of weapon holding“ ;)

The return of teapot mode yessssss
