This video is sooooo helpful. I live in USA and I always had doubts that I am having hissing because of extreme cold but couldn’t verify until I watched this video. All of the reasons mentioned here I have experienced while learning. Thumbs up for putting to gather such an informative video.
Sir,very well explained.Thanks.My experience regarding G# flute is that the flute which was perfect was not sounding properly after use of two years. Some people examined it and suggested me to change it. My flute guru was blind.I told this difficulty to him.He just tried the flute and immediately told me the reason.The lowermost hole (7th hole) was partly covered in a small amount by the loose colored threads of flute which were fitted again properly and the flute started sounding good as was before. Nobody could make out this defect.It was my Guru who was quite expert in identifying the defects in flutes just by hearing their sounds.To my bad luck my Guru passed away because of Corona in last year.

@@ChandradeepFlute I think you should try pvc also 😁. There is less maintenance of pvc flute and they sound good irrespective of weather, temperature or any other factor.😁I bought it because I didn't know anything about flute maintenance.
Sir when i blow into the hole with flute turned little inwards. the sound is clear but the note dips a bit, however if i turn it outwards, the note tune is correct but then I get lot of airy or hissing sound, could you also please do a video on the right way to shape the lips and blowing pressure techniques
I will try. But this is too subjective and varies from person to person. As long as you are getting correct sound according to your comfortable position its always correct. For hissing as i had mentioned try to tighten the grip near chin.
Chandradeep hi. You have explained in a very nice way about long notes and hissing sound. I am learning flute. Six months have passed but I am facing problem in blowing P. I have G# base, F# base and A# middle (small) flutes. I request you to kindly help me out from this. Txs
I would recommend you to practice long notes as explained in my latest video. Also practice, p to P alankar as explained in Saptak video. Also, if possible see a good guru to learn it in a better way

I use a C flat PVC flute...Its nice but i get good sound in morning...but there is that hiss in the morning...which is so irritating, There was blowing leakage early on but still there is a hiss even today

I have a pvc flute and there is a hissing sound in dha ni and sa . I bought it from Radhe flute
Haven't used pvc ever. So difficult to comment. However, the techniques i have explained here should help for pvc too

Just try sitting and you will feel it. Any kind of dhyan, pranayam is done while sitting. Hope you are aware of that fact
