This is what I call, True-hearted, wholesome, no frills, no stick twirling, no double-base, no show boating, but sharp, krisp, clean, righteous style drumming. In my book, the best drummer that ever lived! R.I.P. Marvin.

Marvin did use double bass tho , that's irrelevant to the craftsmanship of drumming . The thing about marvin is that he was the purist form of drumming ....period

If you listen to the live Fred Hammond show Radical for Christ he certainly and beautifully used double bass not constant just accented points and he did it so tastefully but yes outside that I agree what a drummer brother in Christ he imo he was such a good drummer and servant of the lord that the lord called him / promoted him to drummer in Heaven where I think he's Rocking heavens choir right now

I had the Great privilege of recording Maurette Brown-Clark's album with Marvin. He was my roommate during the days we we're in Baltimore rehearsing. It was Such an Honor to have spent time with this man of God and then to record with him, cementing myself forever in song with his gifting. We will miss Marvin, but i'm truly glad he finished his course...

He said that it was rough. This is tight! Great as always. Marvin McQuitty was one of the first drummers I was introduced to at an early age. Glad to have met Marvin McQuitty, and he was as great hearted as ever. On behalf of the musicians in Louisiana we send up prayers and an official shed session in your memory. RIP Marvin McQuitty you are loved!!!

For those who don't know; Marvin Maquitty was a great influence in my career as a drummer & song writer. When I first heard Marvin play, it was on Fred Hannmond's CD. All I can say is "Let the Praise Begin" wow! I wanted to be at that level and play just like him. At the time he inspired me to pick up the sticks after a twelve year lay off. I been a fan and on a mission ever since then to get to the next level as an artist & musician because of him. Its hardwork but loving it.Thank you MarvinRIP

These are they (with this kind of humility) that God will use and protect during the later days in which we are now in (Sat Mar 5 20220, 11:02 pm).I heard this guy on drums during Fred Hammond’s prime days. And I am here to tell you this guy is an off the charts Drummer!

Don't say shame on them. Look at Mike Clemons, he went from church to secular, and back to church. So, you never know, or can judge where GOD will take someone it's not our call. If it is GOD'S will HE WILL bring them back around.
