- Marvin McQuitty gave his testimony on May 22, 2008. This was the first time he gave his public testimony and it was powerful! This event was called "The Shed Summit" held at St. John Church in Grand Prairie, TX. To purchase this full video, go to www.theshedfoundation.com or email theshedsummit@yahoo.com
This is what I call, True-hearted, wholesome, no frills, no stick twirling, no double-base, no show boating, but sharp, krisp, clean, righteous style drumming. In my book, the best drummer that ever lived! R.I.P. Marvin.
Marvin did use double bass tho , that's irrelevant to the craftsmanship of drumming . The thing about marvin is that he was the purist form of drumming ....period
If you listen to the live Fred Hammond show Radical for Christ he certainly and beautifully used double bass not constant just accented points and he did it so tastefully but yes outside that I agree what a drummer brother in Christ he imo he was such a good drummer and servant of the lord that the lord called him / promoted him to drummer in Heaven where I think he's Rocking heavens choir right now
I had the Great privilege of recording Maurette Brown-Clark's album with Marvin. He was my roommate during the days we we're in Baltimore rehearsing. It was Such an Honor to have spent time with this man of God and then to record with him, cementing myself forever in song with his gifting. We will miss Marvin, but i'm truly glad he finished his course...
RIP TO ONE OF THE BEST DRUMMERS WE HAVE EVER COME ACROSS!!!
true worshipper. This is what drummers should aspire to. He is probably jamming on a solid gold set right now before our Lord. Bless his family in Jesus Name
Man... I wish I would've gotten the chance to meet him.... R.I.P Marvin
You and me both definitely.
He was such a wonderful and humble man. I miss him.
Truly Great!! Thank you Jesus. Thank you Marvin. We never met but you have touched my heart brother. RIP
He said that it was rough. This is tight! Great as always. Marvin McQuitty was one of the first drummers I was introduced to at an early age. Glad to have met Marvin McQuitty, and he was as great hearted as ever. On behalf of the musicians in Louisiana we send up prayers and an official shed session in your memory. RIP Marvin McQuitty you are loved!!!
Man...I wish I had gotten the opportunity to be mentored by this brother while he was alive. What a testimony! Amazing drummer with a great heart for Jesus! We're gonna chat it up and jam it up in heaven tho ahahah! :D :D
For those who don't know; Marvin Maquitty was a great influence in my career as a drummer & song writer. When I first heard Marvin play, it was on Fred Hannmond's CD. All I can say is "Let the Praise Begin" wow! I wanted to be at that level and play just like him. At the time he inspired me to pick up the sticks after a twelve year lay off. I been a fan and on a mission ever since then to get to the next level as an artist & musician because of him. Its hardwork but loving it.Thank you MarvinRIP
Claster Jones Jr. GOD BLESS YOU, AND YOUR GIFTS & TALENTS, BROTHER!
@13:30 he went in and it touched me ... Got tears in my eyes, RIP Uncle Marv ...
I met Marvin once at the Azusa conference in 1999. very gracious man. truly a great loss

Marvin the Magnificent !
yep! pocket all day! Also just an all around great man of God!
I got to meet him and perform in front of him at the Twinkie Clark recording. He was funny and cool... definitely one of my mentors I looked up too and took notes from.
Wow ! Even through his illness his pocket and groove was so solid ! More solid than most cats at full strength.
These are they (with this kind of humility) that God will use and protect during the later days in which we are now in (Sat Mar 5 20220, 11:02 pm).I heard this guy on drums during Fred Hammond’s prime days. And I am here to tell you this guy is an off the charts Drummer!
wow! so humble... RIP Uncle MARVIN
he was a true worshiper! worshiped God in truth and in Spirit
R.I.H Mr.Marvin Mquitty 🕊 🙏🏾🥁🔥🎶🎵👑
Big Brother,
We miss You

Love Miss & Admire U Marv.....blessings
Its been so many years I still think about you!!! Rest well sir🙌🏾
I never met Marvin but that part we he said he did not compromise the church for the world that what got my respect these other drums are so sad leaving playing the church to compromise for the world is sad shame on y'all
One of the main reasons why he's one of my biggest inspirations.
Don't say shame on them. Look at Mike Clemons, he went from church to secular, and back to church. So, you never know, or can judge where GOD will take someone it's not our call. If it is GOD'S will HE WILL bring them back around.
Awesome testimony. Man of God RIP.
Marvin is the first professional drummer i ever looked up to so hes my true idol when it comes to musicianship he will be truly missed but never forgotten.
Thank you and God Bless you Marvin for letting God's gift shine bright through you and touch the world. You are never forgotten but always remembered. Peace and God's blessings to the McQuitty Family.
My brother.. RIP🎶🎶🙏🏾❤
