      Doron Sharel imagine using only fg% to gage efficiency and saying objectively wrong things like he’s “below average in everything else” He’s obviously the best iso player in the league, second in assists the past three years, and was second in steals (obviously I know he’s not amazing on defense but that’s just because he gives no effort kinda like LeBron)

      He carries his team to victories. So he is not a stat chaser. And example of stat chaser is Russ. Back in Russ’s triple double average season I saw him get a triple double in a blowout loss to the Charlotte hornets. James harden is the second best player in the league. The difference is James harden carries a heavier load. You have have got to start realizing that the greatness of the warriors players will always be nullified because there’s so much talent on one team.

    Definitely a fan of Stephen Jackson. Very smart. Great insights on people and the big picture. Others are so focused on stats and analytics that they forget that those don't measure some intangible things. Morale, synergy, team work, leadership, etc. Analytics can't measure those. That's why Westbrooke can pad his 3-ple stats all he wants, but they will never win a championship. And he won't reach the heights and respect that he craves for.
    Same with Harden. This 1-on-1 and single or 2ble or even 3ple player egos are not going to take them to the next level if they encounter a team that plays 5 people in harmony, each one knowing their roles, and are allowed to create on the floor. Also a team willing to take risks and put in their 2nd stringers in crucial points, if only to teach and train them. If a team can roll in the the lesser player and inspire them to be the next Curry, Green, Thompson, etc., then a fire is lit where the 2nd stringers step up and know they have a future. The Harden, Westbrook, and even Lebron James style does not inspire the lesser players. So, when the chips are down, the main players are injured or have a bad night, there is nothing to pull them up. And this happens only when Management and coach + coaching staff are all in sync and have a mindset of a TEAM, not individuals, or selected holy trinity of players.
    Funny things is, this is not new. This is old news. The history of the NBA has shown that a superstar can take you only so far. But it takes a team working in sync to the championship. And to repeat it, one requires it. Even MJ eventually realized it. That is why they can go back and win it the following year and so forth. Yes, having a superstar is good. Even 3 of them, but in the end, basketball is a team game. The sooner coaches and the front office realize this, they will forever be wondering why they can't go the final mile. These guys also better stop focusing too much on data and analytics. They don't measure other things and that is why they are befuddled why GSW wins even if they are not the best in many metrics (8th in 3-pt shooting for example).
    It is a shame that Stockton-Malone didn't win a ring. I am a fan of Stockton. Always will be. Unfortunately, MJ and his crew were better and denied them a championship. Sad. Had MJ retired, they have a good chance to have won. But that is reality. Same with my other idol, Pistol Pete. One of the greatest, but never won a ring.
    I also win counter most analysts that KD will move to NY or elsewhere. I agree with Jackson here. If KD has his ego checked and not for personal glory or is worried of his history as others are (cough-cough - like Lebron or Westbrook), then KD will create a new path to his own immortality. He will cement his legacy. But not what he thought the path most take. For him to leave GSW, he does not know if the new team has that synergy to take him to a championship. He does not know how he will gel with a new crew. If there are egos in there, it's going to be an uphill battle. They can be successful in the regulars, but it will not take them to the final mile. Maybe it will, but that is a big question. Now it is a gamble for KD if his new team mates. If he moves, he is going to be guessing what his future will be. If he moves only for the money, he will get it, but his legacy might be diminished.
    Once he is healed, with what the others are doing, he will have to step up and prove his mettle. If the 2nd stingers and nobodies are inspired, then he knows that he will have to step up and show them that he is worth his pay and he is as good or better. Overall, this will lift the team as a whole. And who knows, maybe he will start to learn the system. After all, he can now see the wisdom of Kerr and how a team really works in harmony as a whole. Maybe, he will start to learn the GSW way. For sure, this will elevate his stature and skills further. If any, and he likes that kind of play, he may not even leave anymore! :)

      @johnb3898 5 років тому

      gullintanni I would have Stockton as top 5, pretty much 4th behind Magic, Zeke and Curry. Those 3 have multiple championships and were the clear leaders of their teams. Stockton didn’t win 1 and kind of shared it with Malone. Still a great player tho

    • @gullintanni
      @gullintanni 5 років тому

      @@johnb3898 I think he was better than Zeke, even though Zeke won 2. Zeke got lucky that Bird injured his back or else he would have not won anything. Zeke was also his teams #1 option so he got to shoot a lot more shots than John. Stockton shot an unbelieveable FG%, and is the All time leader in assists and steals. That should count for something. Steph and Magic are better, I can give them that.
