FOTN is Justin vs Max. You are kidding yourselves if you think otherwise.
KOTN I'll go Jalin Turner
POTN I think Kayla will win, if she looks good at BW.
SOTN I reckon goes to Powtan! Guillotine 😆

It's a joke that the bonuses have been $50k since _2013._ If the amount had kept up with inflation the bonuses would currently be $68k and that doesn't account for how much more money the UFC makes now. The bonuses for every card going forward should be something like $85k if not $100k.
Agreed especially since they only give out 4 normally and sometimes it's just 2 or no one gets one. Yet dana brags about sold out arenas every week
@@michaeltmackii8054Exactly ! 50k is ridiculous nowadays, it should be 100k by now without a question.
Mate this is america wages keeping up with inflation just isn't a thing.
Forget keeping up with inflation, the UFC could increase fighter pay through it's live gate numbers and other revenue sources alone without even giving them a percentage of TV or sponsorship deals. This company made 1.3 Billion dollars last year, but these fighters will never fight for what should be theirs, so why even care. It's just sad.
I agree @ 100k the ufc could do that and still be plenty fine (I assume)

Honestly ive always thought if they wanted events to be more exciting in general they should have a mandatory finish bonus. If you always got paid more for a finish it gives people more incentive to not coast to a win

@@TrumpsaTerroristChangeMyMindFair point. Regardless the normal Fight of the Night and Performance of the Night bonuses should be increased. They've been $50,000 for over 10 years now. If they'd just kept pace with inflation they should be $68,000 and that doesn't account for how much more the UFC makes now compared to 2013. Bonuses should be $75,000 for the prelims and $100,000 for the main card.

Dana only ageed to 300$ 😂
Genius move by Dana, he knew this decision would be a good one
Pretty sure it was a staged question. For a big organization like the UFC, Dana wouldn’t be able to make a giant financial decision like that on his own, especially not on the spot. That decision was made in a boardroom ahead of time. Reporter was either a plant or Dana was going to announce it later, reporter just coincidentally teed it up.
Predicting this now, A RECORD NUMBER OF FINISHES ARE ABOUT TO HAPPEN!!!!!! Watch how crazy this card will be
Saying Moicano "curses too much" is a dumbass take. How many other fighters have vulgar language or talk some wild shit? They beat each other up for a living ffs.
Update: I wasn't aware it was supposed to be referencing comments on one of their older videos. Either way, I think it's a dumb comment.
They have the weirdest takes here some times
And how many of those fighters that are cursing nonstop actually have good trash talk that people are interested in listening too? None stop Cursing is just a sign of a limited vocabulary and no creativity.

When those cage doors close, NOT ONE of those fighter is thinking about $300K bonus. They’re focused in on the man or woman trying to beat their ass. You’re overthinking this bonus. They’ll think about the bonus AFTER a good win or KO. They got away from Knockout of the night due to ESPN deeming it too “violent” sounding. Bleeding hearts.
I agree. However, it will affect Gameplans for some
Everyone who gets a finish should get the 50k, not just this weekend but in the future as well. Hopefully, for the fighters' sake, this is the beginning of being paid what they deserve. Ufc makes enough money off each card and sponsors to pay each fighter handsomely. The prelims should also get separate bonuses, not as high as main card but still some bonus because I've seen a few fights on prelims that's been better than some main card fights and they don't get the credit they deserve because they was the 3rd prelims fight for example
Over the last few months the prelims have usually been more entertaining than the main cards, especially for Fight Nights
@BiggieTrismegistus facts bro. It's a shame they don't get the recognition until they're on the main card 😒

Poatan- "why are they so excited about 300 "
About time y'all did another fight companion
Hearing that on the presser made me go and actually buy the card just to avoid the hassle of my usual streaming options...
Listen it's a very real incentive, no one is fighting less hard after hearing that.
Theres also the factor that they might not wanna end it to early, you coukd end up with an event that looks like a ufc 4 game trying ti stack knock downs
Dana might give more performance and fight of the night bonuses but the situation is is that the higher up on the card somebody is the more they stand to lose if they do try to do anything based upon really just trying to get that bonus as opposed to get the win because getting the wind is in the long run going to get them more money losing a championship of any type is going to cost you so obviously you're not going to do anything to jeopardize that but of course Justin and Max are going to throw down regardless and so probably to a good degree are Weili and Yan, especially if Weil keeps it on the feet.
And definitely there should always be a performance bonus strictly just on a finish because then you have people who are really a bit more motivated to go for it and it's a huge incentive for those with low show pay .. so maybe a 10k - 12k finish bonus
That shit bout to go right back to 50 after this event
Tbf offering more money for a great performance is only ever going to light a fire under people to perform better.
Good call out on it being sad that the fighters were like excited children in a classroom at the prospect of $300K. To average people like us, that’s a lot, but you’ll be hard pressed to put together a room of the top NBA players, for example, and have them so excited at the prospect of having a chance to win $300K. Fighters are paid far too little and have way more dangerous of a job compared to other professional athletes.
Everybody gonna be standing in the middle octagon swinging

Is the fight companion just for members?
Nope! Free for everyone
They gonna fight like it's Mortal Kombat
Pizza ordering fight LOL
Dana may have accidentally lit the fire and created the greatest card in combat sports history
"accidentally"
Imo it changed everything as there was not a boring fight on the card (Outside of Aljo, but imo Aljo is comfortable where he’s at and what he’s getting paid so you can’t pay him A million to be exciting he’s perfectly fine with his pay)
The sad part is it 100% backfired somewhat on the UFC as it showed them that their fighters truly are starving out there and were willing to let it all go for that extra 300k Bonus and the even sadder part was they weren’t your basic fighters who were on the come up that are starving hard but a majority of them were all Champions of their Divisions at one point and some even Interim champions as well, some even as far as having defended the belt.
But the UFC doesn’t see that therefore they won’t change the pay and the whole Fighter Pay issue is still a main part of the UFC. It’s like a f’d up deal as the fighter chooses to be paid way less then their worth just for the fame that follows the UFC, which is why I’m truly hoping that another organization eventually can rival them on that front as it’s widely known that other organizations pay their fighters very well and what they’re actually worth. And pay them like their lives are legit on the line. Only issue is Fighters never choose that promotion if ever offered as the second a UFC contracts is offered they eat it up regardless of how bad the pay is.
Can you imagine how much better the fights become if Dana were to make the 300k Bonus a permanent thing? I think it 100% creates the best fights possible as everyone chases it and with it on the line there’s not much of the boring Lay -n- Pray that is a huge part of the sport especially after the Dagastani fighters.
Any fighter that gets that 300K bonus needs to shout out journalist. He really made his question count rather than the usual sh*tty "when are you gonna have another card in X, Dana?" questions
I never bought a PPV but this might be my first one because 300k bonuses are gonna make the fights bangers!!
"If Dana can throw 300k bonuses out, why the fuck can't we get paid better?" -every fighter from here on out. Dana fucked up. Especially how he said it. 300k is a drop in the bucket to the UFC.
It's ridiculous that the bonus amount has been $50,000 for over 10 years now. If they'd kept pace with inflation since 2013 they would be $68,000 currently and that doesn't even consider how much more money the UFC makes now.
It really is baffling, especially when you hear time and time again how fighters had/have to take out loans and shit, sleep on people's couches, etc just to train and show up to fight. How they break down and cry if they land a 50k bonus..... them see Dana hand put snacks of bills to influencers like it's nothing to him. It okay though.... I, as well as many, will set sail Saturday night. Fuck Dana.
@@BiggieTrismegistusstop acting like these fighters are "underpaid". Do you get a $50k bonus for a good night at work?
@danelynch7171 "a good night at work"..... what a stupid comment. Are these fighters getting paid to train? Cut weight? Travel to the event? Are the coaches to train them get paid by company who host a "another sell out event at xxx Arena, we broke the gate record here in xxx state."? No. Hell does the UFC pay for the hotels the fighters and coaches are staying at?
You're an absolute buffoon if you think ufc fighters are getting paid what they put themselves through for our entertainment.

Them cheering for that bonus was the equivalent to me thanking a robber for not taking my cups
It’s a fact after this that Poatan is actually crazy lmao
The 300k wasn't to celebrate UFC 300. It was to celebrate the fighter settlement.
Make KO bonus higher than the others! Provide incentive to fight the way fans want to see it! Fight fans prefer stand up fights and KO's, provide the fighters incentive to do so!
Before I even watch the video, all I can say is I bloody hope so
My answer to the question posed in the title:
FUCK no! Bahahahahaha
The 300K is certainly a huge incentive but I'd rather they gave 50K to anyone who gets a finish. It wouldn't be as big an incentive for people like Gaethje but it would be a much bigger one for the prelim fighters (would probably be cheaper too)
People arguing that Dana throwing out 300k bonus means he can pay fighters better need to understand this is already a top 10 selling PPV with days to go, so they are going to have a record revenue from the PPV & this has drawn more attention than before so they probably make that additional $1 million back in additional sales. Maybe a way to incentive fighters in the future would be to have the performance bonus linked to the number of PPV buys, say $1 from every buy goes into the performance bonus pot, that way it is an incentive to every fighter on the card to help sell it.
The guy who asked that question became the most popular guy among the fighters that night
And will also never be allowed back into a press conference ever again. Just like all the rest that dared to ask provocative and interesting questions.
@@GengoSenmon atleast we have John Morgan to ask stupid questions Everytime
@@GengoSenmon Whistle blowers/people who stand up for whats right always pay the price. Respect to the person who asked the question and even more if they are not allowed to come to a presser again.
I got everyone ay my workplace a paid hour off work and pizza because my management talks shit. It did cost me promotion opportunities in my department.
I was proud of myself. The person who asked the question should be proud of themselves too. Hopefully theyll use that to get a bunch of interviews with fighters who know what they did and gain a benefit alongside the BS
Never understood why nobody was saying 300k for ufc 300 until now
Some guys will throw caution to the wind due to the large bonus but some fighters will just try to get the win. Like Cody Garbrant will try to KO DF in a brutal way to get that bonus instead of fighting smart
My views on bonuses.
Since the 50k has been a mainstay number for over a decade, it’s not absurd to say they can afford more.
I think every event the bonuses should go up by 500$. Around 46? Events a year so 46*500 = 23000 (extra a year added to the new bonus) so 73k for 2025, 96k for 2026.
Even after ten years the bonus will stilll be under 300k which they’ve now shown they can afford. And in ten years time, a 273k bonus might not even mean as much as it does today.
Also a tiered bonus system.
Have a general bonus pool, either fan driver or sponsors or something.
Then split the pool amongst all finishes.
There needs to be more incentive for finishes later the apex cards are trash. Ufc fighters starting to fight like bellator fighters.
Appreciate the quantitative analysis. You forget the qualitative variables though. Not only has the UFC thrived financially by being cheap and exploitative to their fighters for decades (and will continue to until the fighters are brave enough to unionize), they are about to take a major financial hit from the lawsuit, AND they were relatively recently acquired by Endeavor. Dana needs to impress his new boss, Ari, with year-over-year growth metrics.
Dana doing this is really gonna bring out the best in all the fighters AND he gave the bonuses to Bo Nickal already! Am I the only one who heard Curb Your Enthusiasm music when he came out at weigh-ins?! All those fighters fighting before him WAY more deserving of that spot!
This is gonna be an amazing card
The $50k was/is the biggest joke of a reward in professional sports history.
No, Gaetjhe said 100, someone said 300, and Holloway a second later said 300. I don’t who was the first that said 300.
Thanks
Let’s go, people making more than me in one night is so cool! Hell yeah, max and Justin for sure
Got a good laugh after Dana, having just agreed to raise the bonus from 50k to 300k, had a few seconds pause before proclaiming, " Don't ask me any more questions..." In response to him agreeing to a further 2 propositions put to him by the media in the literal 2 questions which preceded the aforementioned bonus raise request.
You got to appreciate both the generosity Dana showed by granting 3 hugely significant requests in a row, all massively beneficial to all the fighters (& potentially life changing to those who make less than 50k per fight)
... just as much as I appreciated his brutal honesty at the realisation of the costs his promises will incur.
He basically meant he wants to say yes to all questions but he'll get an earful off the owners lol.
100k for every finish would have been better than 300k to only 4 people.
Just like any Union workers they will do the least work possible or (safest fighting style) and ask for the most money. Money should always be an incentive to work harder or (put on a show)
Dana looked annoyed after agreeing to 300k bonuses even though it’s pocket change compared to the revenue made from the ticket sales excluding ppv sales
dana loved every second of that applause he got
I thought it looked planned LOL, good for fighters but clearly not impromptu
Fine I’ll do it “It’s stole my precious and we wants it”
Luke Thomas just broke this down. Geez it sucks how nearsighted I felt thinking this was a groundbreaking move by Dana
Imma tell you this shiiiiit right now… Diego Lopes is going for the finish 100% of the time and might become a star after he gets it. That kid is going to try to change his life tomorrow, I can feel it
Dana is like Commodus in Gladiator
Alex is.the only one sitting stoned faced heading about the bonus
Legit what I said they all looked like kids but in a good way😂
Holloway and gaethje really deserved that 300k. Not a fight that good in a while.
Justin the only guy asking for only 100k
All strategy goes out the window with this bonus 😂
It’s so smart because Dana got a ton of positive press and he’s going to end up giving less total bonuses than times when he gives out a bonus to every finish
