FINDING BIG SILVER & OLD WORLD COINS Searching Foreign Bag - Bag #20
Вставка
- Опубліковано 28 вер 2024
- I received a ton of mixed coins as a bonus from work about a year ago. Instead of sorting through all of them on my own or all at last, I am breaking them up in to half pound lots (like a world coins loot bag or world coins collection) for me to search over the next year(ish?) We got to find a lot of cool coins in this lot, so I'm glad I had the chance to search it. How awesome is the German silver coin???

#2:15 If you consider ALL the coins as "World wide," in the grab bag you purchased and partitioned out into smaller lots, then you can say that 1832 US Large Cent included as "World Wide. Coins." (also that "V/Liberty Head" Nickel from the last lot.) #2:45 Yes, the Aussie pennies/cents were (and still are) bronze. Somebody plated and drilled it for a necklace. #4:32 "Etat Francais" = German occupied France (Vichy State)
love my foreign coins...the artwork was amazing.....
Totally agree Steve - the variety is incredible.

Glad you do! They're awesome.
Thanks TT. I think the prizes in the bag were either the Philipine nickel from 1938. Or the Dos Centavos from Argentina. They only minted half a million in 1896. Good score.
Peace.
I think so! Really appreciate it!

The man on the 50 drachma coin is Homer, author of the Iliad and the Odyssey. ΟΜΗΡΟΣ = OMÉROS.
Good to know Kenton - wouldn't have picked up on it (though I have read an English translation of the Odyssey for high school English). Always impressed with your detailed knowledge.
Awesome bro, have you seen what's going on with the 1971 2 new pence and where do you think it's going to end up. That's actually good to see what you're doing with all the different coins, just what I'm starting to get into. Thanks

The last time the British minted silver coins for circulation was in 1947. I believe they had to cease using silver for their coinage, because they needed it to pay back the US for lend lease.
Good to know - did not know about the lend lease and it's relation to coins!
That swiss franc is like 5.75 or something

#5:31 Franklin Memorial Medallion (not a coin). It is modern the dual date is Franklin's birth and death years. # 6:07 "ISLAND" = ICELAND (NOT Russian)! Russia uses the Cyrillic Alphabet.
The Greek guy on the drachma coin is Homer :)
Makes sense now that I think of it - thanks for the comment!
Beautiful, do you have a list of valuable old coins
I HAVE 1917 PEENNIG
Awesome!
I like the UK 10p
#2:09 The US is part of the world. You're collecting world coins, so yes, count it as part of the "package." (Maybe start a small "World's Ugly Coins?"😆 #2:40 Yes, it's silver plated AND drilled (ready for a necklace.) #5:48 Not a coin (Medal) AND from the USA.(Exonumia). #6:11 ICELAND (Part of Denmark) 5 Aura. #8:05 Another coin for your "World Ugly Coins" Collection.😆 #9:26 Check for a mint mark on that. I think 1938 Filipino coins might have a "M" (Manilla) mint mark.
Thank You 🍀
Well you commented that you didn't know much about the world coins. I just want to know how much they're in US money and what they're worth. I know I'm asking way too much of you. Do you have a site that would tell us about what I need to know. I want to start collecting World coins. Thank you very much. ATB & HH I love your channel.
Which ones? I'd look into eBay past sales or en.numista
Krause world coins catalogues are a good start 😉 They're pretty expensive but you can get pirated versions 😂Feel free to ask me download links
