@@legharigaming846 Never had it, but I thought the Rhyme was an awesome phone! The charm seemed like a great idea for hearing-impaired users (or just people in loud environments) before smartwatches were a thing.

I still can’t believe this is ten years old. I was working at an AT&T call center back in these days. I actually enjoyed that job. Stayed there for almost five years and still hang out with my old co workers. Met my girl there. Still together with two kids. Boom

The first truly high end phone i owned back then was the HTC Desire HD and i really feel like it was ahead of almost every other phone maker back then.
Super simple to use, very high end feel, insane camera for the time and HTC were the first to come up with the news feed we now have when we swipe to the left, it was called "Blinkfeed" back then if i remember. Then in 2013 i begged my dad to buy me the HTC ONE M7 and it was just more of the same but improved in every way.
Damn i loved HTC, i would've stuck with them up until now if they didnt fall off along the years back then.

My first was the great Motorola Droid. I always loved the freedom of Android, the possibilities, the customization since the beginning. And I still miss that sliding keyboard to this day. Imagine a Note 10 with a similar keyboard?
I had a white HTC Desire (or Wildfire, not sure) and man, SenseUI was rocking back in the day. That combination of white, black and green was so elegant.

Oh yes, the good old days when HTC Sense was one of the best Android UIs.
This was my first smartphone. Before this, I only had a few touchscreen feature phones and of course, Sony Ericssons and a Nokia E51. It was crazy back in the day. Even the resolution seemed crisp. And the weather effects on the home screen were amazing.

My first phone was the ZTE Blade, sold in the UK as the Orange San Francisco. I loved it because of the modding community that grew around the device giving me the ability to root and flash the device, and ultimately customise it in to the phone I wanted.

In 2011 I was a junior in high school too. That was the year I received a Samsung Galaxy SII Sprint Epic 4G, that phone was AWESOME. Sooo many of the software and hardware features are now gone, no removable batteries, no notification lights, no micro SD card slots, no IR blasters, no port covers, no audio maniplation software. I used to change the settings in the music app on my GS2 to concert hall, can't do that anymore.

My first Android phone was an LG Optimus V (2011). It was nowhere near as good as this HTC Inspire, but as this was my first ever smartphone, I had no complaints and have been hooked on android ever since. I got an S4 a few years later, then an S7, now I'm using an S9. I'm waiting to see what the premium android offerings look like for 2021 before upgrading again.

My first phone was the Droid Incredible. I loved that tiny thing. I used it for YEARS thanks to CyanogenMod. I still have that same one along with all of my other old phones, I never sold any of them. Droid Incredible, Galaxy Nexus, One m7, Nexus 4 (white and black, neither one broken despite how slippery they are), Nexus 6, and one of each Pixel are all on a shelf in my room still. I occasionally still pick some of them up to mess around with. It’s amazing how good most of them still feel to hold, like the m7 and Nexus 4.

I got this when it launched.
My first smartphone, and thinking back, I had a lot of phones since then but this was overall my favorite. The weather widget with those home screen animations, the clock widget... it was all so nice back then, HTC Sense was the shit. It was also considered quite a big device, and 800x480 was an alright resolution.
Battery life really was crap but I always had a charger, and back then, I always played games on it like doodle jump since smartphones were a new thing to me.
Now it's smaller than "mini" phones. And 768MB of RAM? Damn :D
I still have mine, still works.

My mother got one used in 2012 and used it until 2014 when she bought a Samsung Galaxy S3. Today I have decided to switch it on again so I have plugged it in the charger and after a hour or so it was ready to use. Of course being such an old phone it can't be used daily but when I have installed Facebook Lite I was impressed with the fact that it could still run it smoothly compared to my first phone, a Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini. The problem is that the battery is many years old so it drains pretty quickly but with a new one this would be perfect for an elder person.

My first Android phone was the Galaxy S3.
Before that I had the iPhone 3g then the iPhone 4. I got DEEP into the jailbreaking world. Then I learned Android just kind of does a lot of that stuff out of the box so I tried it.
I immediately fell in love. Overtime I grew to hate TouchWiz though. So I did some digging and found out about flashing custom ROMs. There was absolutely no going back for me after that!

My first android was the HTC One E8, it was smiliar to the M8 but in a plastic body and a missing depth cam on the back. But regardless. It was a kicker. 5:47 My actual first Android device was a Chinavasion Avior, which was an off-brand Chinese ODM phone that ran what appeared to be AOSP Android 2.2 with some extra stuff, like a redundant on-screen volume control applet when physical volume keys were present, so I had to kill the process for that every time the phone started up, and it was so slow that I couldn't play Angry Birds or watch UA-cam on it! Then again, it was a budget phone and I was on a budget at the time, it was either that phone or the Chinavasion BZ Phone which was similar but had a physical keyboard.
Eventually, I made the mistake of upgrading to iOS 7 on my iPhone 4S I had later on, and right around the time, I received a new LG/Google Nexus 5 for Christmas, which ran Android 4.4, the first version of Android that I could use full-time, but the AOSP messaging app being replaced with Google Hangouts was an issue, so I used GO SMS, as I had never heard of CyanogenMod at the time, which had the AOSP messaging app. From there, I went on to the Samsung Galaxy Note3, which had Samsung's TouchWiz Nature UX software, which was very different from Android's stock UX. It was so different, that it felt to me like a completely different operating system that happened to be compatible with Android. Fortunately, I was later invited to buy a OnePlus One, which was my introduction to CyanogenMod, and I installed it on my Note3, which worked great except for the fact that I lost access to the Note features, but the Samsung annoyances went away too.

Funnily enough. In 2022 I still own a fully functional HTC Thunderbolt. I have been trying to put a whole lot of custom roms on it. Got an early touchwiz rom(android 4.0) and currently have 4.2 and it’s overclocked to 1.5GHz. So far Cyanogenmod doesn’t like compiling for this phone(I want to try to compile CM11 for it, and that way I can port Desire HD and Desire S roms and I guess this particular phone as well)
