Best time to visit Philippines is during the -ber months as Christmas season is from September 1 to December or even January mid. It will rain anyway. Several night markets/Christmas markets have also became popular there last year. BGC area looks similar to Singapore too. In Singapore, Lucky Plaza is the place to experience pinoy products. It's in Orchard road.
your observation is absolutely correct, Singapore is not a destination for window shopping or street shopping as you do in Thailand or Malaysia but for those from the west and far east wealthy guys to indulge into some high end shopping experience. This country is super expensive to survive so they are mostly designed to cater for the big bucks tourism dollars hence your experience will be very poor if you go for shady places to eat and shop unless you can shell out a few thousands of dollars for a week’s stay. In the end, you get what you pay for! thanks for presenting that Mugshots, i haven’t been there yet but it appears to be a great spot for Friday evenings!
