Thank you very much for this video. I'm in an apt, my closet is tiny, and I'm novice DIYer. I thrifted a giant TV armoire to convert to a wardrobe as well. The doors are very similar to yours and because I need the top, interior to hang blouses and sweaters...I needed to see how to address the doors and hanging rod. Excellent video...even someone like me can follow your instructions! 😊
This is one of those pieces of expensive furniture that has become obsolete because of new technology. Cabinets aren't needed anymore. I converted a custom made in France solid wood TV cabinet into a beautiful wardrobe closet. She spent 4K on this and wasn't going to give it away to anyone else. It's 7 1/2 feet high by five feet wide. Perfect for a room with no closets like in your case. Nice conversion job.
Great video! All the directions were easy to follow. This was almost exactly what I was looking for. We have an old entertainment center that no one wants for free. So I've decided to put a place for my suits and winter jackets in my office at home.
I'm using a Sennheiser SK100 G2 microphone system. Using ANY external microphone can make a video so much better than not using one. I also use a tripod and turn on all the lights.
That "closet pole" looks more like it was originally made for hanging draperies. I've never seen a fluted closet pole, but I have seen fluted drapery poles. Looks sturdy enough, and about the right size, though. You got a great deal on that entertainment center. It looks like a nice, well built unit that the former owners had treated with care. It's still very nicely finished. The only reason you would want to paint it would be to make it match other furniture in the room.
I actually found out that by leaving the back of the track open, it made it easier to get the doors on and off as needed, so it was a blessing in disguise.
Great video!!! Thanks for sharing! I like the idea of picking up things from the thrift shop and improvise with them! Being in the painting business myself, painting is a must for me! Ha.. Great job!
Must be a bit of an optical illusion in the video. The closet pole is mounted pretty high. Any higher and the hangers would hit the ceiling of the wardrobe, instead of hooking over the pole.
I am wondering if you could have used the rear section of the track to have your stops you wanted? I am not 100% sure if the front of the bracket makes much of a difference or not, but doing this could have saved you from having to have a screw in the metal.
I used some scrap material that I already had. It is the exact same size as standard wood closet rod. The only difference is it was free and slightly more decorative.
By “but” I’m sure you meant buy… Try Home Depot or any other supply house. Even Amazon has them… Sorry you had to wait 4 years for an answer just because of a typo…
Hi Ben ....I really enjoy all your video's especially anything about EV's. I'd like to know where you purchased the clip on microphone used in this video? I'd like to get one like it. It has terrific sound qualities. Perhaps you could tell me more about it in one of your video's. Thanks Ben Rick R.

Glad to know it helped!
Great job! Looks great!

What a clever idea! 😍
How do you get the screws to not show on the outsider?
Screws only go through the thicker, structural parts of the cabinet. Use short screws so that they don't go all the way through the wood.
@@BenjaminNelsonX gotcha! Thanks

Good job

Yes, I believe the pole was for drapery, but I already had it, and it was the right size AND color too!
You could simply hang the closet pole by mounts from the top.

It wasn't working right, but I fixed it now.
The "hang pole" was inconvenient, it's not working with the door when you push the door in and there all the clothes mess.
You might have mounted the pole a bit higher. Some sides on the bottom slider might have been better. Very nice project all in all, Thanks.

You cut up a curtain rod. But whatever works!😊

Why not just hang pole from top with brackets and lessen the work?
@BenjaminNelson So where do I but the closet pole bracket and a good closet pole?
The closet pole bracket installation is shown after about 7 minutes into the video.
