All Broadway musicals are filmed but not available to the public, but from what I’ve read this was not filmed until after Mandy left. Seeing a full proshot of the original cast would be incredible.
I'm watching this possibly for the fiftieth time (this is my favorite song from the show and this scene is just gorgeous) and for the first time I'm REALLY paying attention to the choreography, and wow. How Archie's dancing with a ghost who's just out of reach while everyone else dances around them, how he does manage to catch Lily and envision this brief moment before he is thrown back into reality. It's so poetic and so heartbreakingly beautiful.
Yes yes yes❤️ I absolutely adore this song and the choreography is brilliant. I love this musical because instead of of romanticizing a toxic relationship they created a story where a woman fell in love with a man because he was kind and brought her roses
We performed this at my community theater a couple years ago and staged that song similarly- Archie and Lily danced together but without quite touching for the majority of it. My boyfriend referred to it as "the Catholic school dance song" after he saw it, haha. I agree, though; that particular choreography in that song works so well and is so bittersweet.
This is my far my favorite musical of all time, its musical score is breathtaking. I am so sad I have never gotten to see it live on or off broadway. Maybe one day....
We have a cassette tape recording of this musical; I used to listen to it over and over and sing along at the top of my lungs…definitely top 5 favorite musical of all time
It's a real crime that this was never filmed for posterity, like Hamilton was. All those great performances lost. RIP Rebecca Luker.
