The most intriguing thing to look at is the floor marker metal device. Somehow it knows when to stop braking

Shaft bar and Taco. The lifts leveling is calculated entirely from the distance to the next floor which is calculated from the taco. The shaft bars keep the taco in sync in case there is any cable slippage. The logic knows when the next shaft bar is expected, and when it appears it updates the taco count to stay in sync with the shaft. When the lift is installed it does a learning run to learn the shaft. Most modern lifts use this system.
