www.pedestrians... Demolition of the Douglas MacArthur Elementary School in Alexandria, Virginia. Produced by John Z Wetmore, producer of "Perils For Pedestrians".
Wailing a way with that I-beam didn't seem like the most elegant demo method we've seen, but it seems to work. That fellow can sure make that machine do everything he wants. Picking up and literally tossing pieces of metal on the pile is impressive.
Hi John, Nice to see Berg in action. They are my favorite. This operator has a different way of operating. This job may call for more sorting of the metals. The roof insulation just crumbles and makes a mess. Will we see the completion? Great video?
Unfortunately, I had to film a different demolition the next morning and didn't capture the end. Sometimes things are slow, and sometimes I am filming half a dozen demolitions at the same time.
All six children in my family went to school here, good friends, and had good times!
I always know it’s a good video when John uploads it
Thanks.

Nice video Mr Wetmore, I like your demolition videos, what was the name of the school being demo'd?
The Douglas MacArthur Elementary School on Janneys Lane in Alexandria, VA.
Went to this school for my entire elementary school career before I moved to Texas
At least they recycle the metal these days. When our old school was torn down, it all went to a low area and was buried. 😮
Why can't we see the demolition through to the end?
That is where they finished for the day. I had a different demolition I needed to film the next morning.
