For love day if you are flirty you can get the interaction "offer rose" which also satisfies the giving flowers tradition without you actually needing to get a flower
@@PeteyPlaysIt I add the flower bunny and watch romantic tv traditions for the love day, and combine that holiday with Easter traditions to form a spring holiday that involves attending a ceremony. For new year's eve i add fireworks and also add a second day called new year's day. which focuses mostly on resolutions and watching sports television as well as the polar bear plunge.
Tip for the gnomes: If you make them angry, just sell them immediately and they won't trash your house or zap your Sims/appliances. If you appease them, pop the gnomes into a Sim's inventory. They will spawn seed packets into the household inventory, and you can easily sell the seed packets and the gnomes for some decent money once Harvestfest is over. This also prevents them from spawning seed packets all over the house, they'll all be neatly in the household inventory instead.
Fair but personally I like seeing the gnomes popping up everywhere and scattering seed packets. It's the beauty of the holiday for me. Putting them in the inventory makes the holiday more invisible and is a bit boring to me personally.
So...true story...I once had my Mint Not -so-Berry sim sabotage the grand meal on Harvest fest with all her friends over. There was only one bathroom and three Sims died from embarrassment because they kept peeing on the floor in front of each other.
How do you do that? I never seen the option for this also I'm on ps4 Edit: I watched the video all through and figured it out...I feel dumb... Read more
I appease them, then put them in a Sim's inventory. They will then spawn seed packets into the household inventory. After Harvestfest, can sell the gnomes and the seed packets for good money XD
In my opinion they are not creepy, they are just annoying and weird. I always replace that with Invite Guests tradition even tho I usually never invite over anyone 😅
Some times, a Sim can celebrate the completion of a greyed out tradition. For example, the Streaking tradition is greyed out for teens, but they can participate and get happy from doing it. The Grand Meal have 12 servings.
I often have Chinese New Year 🧧 for my Chinese Sims and Lunar New Year for everyone else 😅 I may also add Dragonboat Festival or Mid-Autumn Festival or Halloween or Family Day or Self-Care Day 😊
what traditions do you assign those holidays? I want to add lunar new year and the mid-autumn festival, but I don't know what to do other than feed them a grand meal ...
buying and placing decorations from build/buy also counts towards the decorating tradition! handy for apartments where you aren't allowed to decorate the outside
So glad you mentioned what can appease these gnomes, thank you. 😂 Coming back to this video every harvest fest in my game. Tired of my sims getting struck by lighting 😅😅.
I added Easter, Summer Holiday, Memorial Day, and Halloween. Easter: day off, spring decore, 2nd Sunday of spring. Flower Bunny, Egg Hunt, Decorate and Grand Meal Summer Holiday: no day off, no decor, 1st Wednesday of Summer. BBQ, Party Spirit, and Invite Guests. Memorial Day: day off, no decor, 2nd Monday of spring. Remembrance, Fasting, and Attend Ceremony. Halloween: no day off, spooky decor, 1st Saturday of Fall. Trick or treat, wear costume, spooky spirit, and decorate.
I do the same! I also add Juneteenth, Oktoberfest (I use the travel tradition and send my sims on a pub crawl 😊) and fall/winter holidays with the day off. I'll send my sims on a camping vacation or to Mt Komerebi for fall/winter activities. Those might be my favorites 🤗
I have no idea why I didn't come across your channel sooner with the amount of sim info I watch. Great job with both quality and content, keep it up. You have a new subscriber :)
@@PeteyPlaysIt Thank YOU. Like many Simmers, I had a long period of stagnation and boredom, despite all the Exp. packs. You inspired me to come back and try new ways to play that I didn't know or thought about. Thanks for bringing back the joy of my favorite game :)
I try to get my sims super into holidays, if they are family oriented 😊 I decorate with the Buy Mode items and have the kids make decorations. I wouldn't mind adding the chaos of sabotage. It could really bring our rebellious teen to life 😈 Her mom is going to be so humiliated at her next Harvestfest dinner. Thanks 😊
With every holiday except new year, whenever all my sims reach the golden state I just finish the tradition so I can forget about refreshing it, like the feeling grateful will vanish and you have to repeat and repeat the interaction until 2am... so I just close it 😂
Emilia :). I'm really looking forward to it from what I've seen, but I'm hesitant to give a final verdict until it's officially released and I've given it a play :).
I think I've always deleted all the holidays and replaced them with my own. I don't understand why the New Year is at the end of winter when irl January is just as wintery? Every week ends up having a holiday. 😅
I never knew you could sabotage the decorations box, grand meals or the TV for new years. Also you can’t complete the decorate holiday tradition if you live in an apartment (In my experience)
The holiday schedule for me would be as follows since I use 28 day seasons: Love Day, Mourning Friday/Mourning Saturday, Resurrection Sunday/Resurrection Monday (second weekend of Spring); Love Day is the Thursday before Mourning Friday, with Mourning Friday/Saturday and Resurrection Sunday/Monday as custom holidays Leisure Week (custom holiday for last two weeks of Summer); two-week period where children are off from school; includes Dedication Saturday/Sunday and Labor Saturday/Sunday Spooky Day (second Friday in Fall); scheduled surprise holiday that takes place at night Festivus season comprises of the following four holidays: Harvestfest, Shopping Friday/Saturday (last week of Fall); Shopping Friday/Saturday are custom holidays that take place two days after Harvestfest Menorah Celebration (first week of Winter): Eight day celebration based on Hanukkah which allows work/school on weekdays but not on weekends; gift giving is allowed except on Saturday due to Shabbat Winterfest (second Monday of Winter) Kinara Celebration (the five days after Winterfest): Five-day celebration based on Kwanzaa; children off from school New Year's Eve and New Year's Day (6-7 days after Winterfest): focuses on celebrating the New Year based on the Gregorian calendar; changed to earlier date due to confusion with the Chinese New Year (Spring Festival) Additional holidays include the first and last days of school, as well as the football championship which takes place on the last day of Winter.
Cosuming the Grand Meal can make your sim Dizzy from Food Coma, and you che send a letter of thanks through the mail box to complete the Thankful Spirit tradition.
Since Sims can cook together, I think they should update the Grand Meal tradition to be one that even children and teens want to do. I always make them join in now anyway. 😆
Gnomes in the inventory continue to generate seed packets worth 100 simoleons each. The Sims team said it was a glitch, and that they've fixed it, but the ones in my inventory continue to do so 😳anyone else still having this "problem" ?
I have a really hard time finding the interactions for "Festive Spirit" on Winterfest. I usually get those interactions by using the festive tree and decorating it instead. I want to find the belly laugh, but I can't find it for anyone except occasionally with Father Winter. Is that the only way to belly laugh?
I've had a question asked and cant find the answer.. someone doesnt have seasons but gets harvestfest?? Is that possible if they have only basegame or holiday celebration pack?
I find those darn gnomes super creepy, but when my new Sims are at university, they have a nice Harvestfest, appease the gnomes, put them in their personal inventory, and then those seed packets collect in the household inventory. Over time, there are thousands of simoleons in there. When each Sim leaves the household, they leave with a tidy sum to start their new household. I don't really mind the easy street lifestyle. I also use this extra money, as a scholarship fund, as necessary. I turn into a little socialist, and share the wealth where needed. Since I play one save game, with dozens of households so far, there tends to be a lot of residual simoleons floating around. At some point, I may just have to delete that awful holiday tradition though. Who do they think they are?!?

I was wondering why I was getting so many seeds lol!
I had almost 200 of each lol

When I have no use for the seeds it gets annoying with them lying around lol
@@purplecosmonaut Yeah, but after many Harvestfests I got tired of it. And also of finding seed packets around the house like months down the line. XD

Harvestfest, Shopping Friday/Saturday (last week of Fall); Shopping Friday/Saturday are custom holidays that take place two days after Harvestfest
Menorah Celebration (first week of Winter): Eight day celebration based on Hanukkah which allows work/school on weekdays but not on weekends; gift giving is allowed except on Saturday due to Shabbat
Winterfest (second Monday of Winter)
Kinara Celebration (the five days after Winterfest): Five-day celebration based on Kwanzaa; children off from school
