Sir,it’s a comfort watching you videos… whenever I think ,do I need to get this lantern or stove or doodad … I just say to myself.. I bet Steve has got one… and that justifies it in my mind. So in a roundabout way…. You’re responsible 😂😂😂😂
Ha ha, ha ha Patrick. I need to have you and my wife have a cup of coffee together so that she doesn't continue to think i'm nuts. ??,?? Thank you, Patrick. I appreciate the support and for watching these videos. They are very fun for me and i'm glad to see that other people enjoy 😊 them
I rarely see this style of stove around here. I found one MSR but I gave it away. Thank you for showing these stoves to us, and for sharing your coffee with us. Stay safe and stay warm
Thank you, Sean. I can understand why I see so many mount Daring stoves. We're backpack stoves in my area. Probably because of all the hiking and mountains also m. Sr was founded in Seattle so. M s r stoves are very plentiful here
Two beautiful stoves , great backpacking stoves for sure ! The second one has a Big stance for bigger pans real nice simmer for cooking eggs ! Awesome Steve
I agree with you. You're talking about the one that I'm running on ISO butane, right? That 1 is really cool and I. Also failed to show that the legs fold back up into the body
Thank you, Jim. I really appreciate you stopping in and having a watch. I really appreciate you supporting my channel. As far as these stoves, they are very nice. However, I do see some design flaws that make me concerned of how long they will last. They certainly will need to be well maintained and handled very carefully.
God Bless You Steve, congrats on the boat sale and sorry for the double edge sword that your sad she is gone. Good choice on the Tim Horton coffee, that’s my favorite now because it’s very smooth and flavorful. Nice Primus stoves, yep that line took forever to burn out the fuel, maybe that is why MSR makes theirs short. Have a great week.
Thank you, sir , tim Horton coffee is now my wife's favorite. We're even looking into maybe even getting a subscription. This will probably be the go to house 🙏. Yes, thanks for the support regarding the boat. I think I'm over it. I uh, I just weren't wasn't putting it to good you. So the guy that bought it is going to love and care for the boat. Just like I did and I think it's gonna go to a great home. Regarding the stoves, I would not rush out and pay retail or whatever the going rate would be for these collectible stoves. But if you ever ran across them for a good price, I would grab them. I do see so I'm designed flaws. That I would be concerned if this was my only stove. You eld it the hose I think is the weak link. Particularly on the himalayan
Having my Sunday afternoon coffee before I go do some garden chores or that was the plan until I looked out the window to see hail falling, maybe be house chores lol. Yeah I sold my old boat couple of years ago, wasn't able to use it , had to tow it over an hour to launch, then my SIL bought a bigger boat lol. So figured best let mine go. There's one thing for sure , you're definitely not going to get stuck with not having a stove available to make yourself a coffee lol. Always love seeing that flame go blue and I always say as you did "Huston we have lift off " lol. Now I want another coffee ☕️ lol. Hope you have an awesome day and week ahead my friend.
She's down the road, gary even though I got exactly what I wanted and asked for I still hate to see it go, it is however, going into the hands of a really good new owner that they are going to cherish it just like I did.
Worse that could happen is that it goes, BOOM!! lol Better get your shirt sleeves out of there!! lol Hot stuff!! Does Houston even have liftoffs these days...that's something I'll need to find out. Sold the boat...so now there will be presents under the Christmas tree for Mrs. Winkelman!! And maybe even some extra treats for the pups...and horses too! lol Enjoy the week ahead!!
Ha ha ha ha ha, thank you. Bruce, I don't know. We should probably check now to see if there's such a thing as a lift off. Probably not unless china does it. Yes I sold the boat and although it's a sad day, I'm actually happy to see it. Go as the person that bought. It is really gonna take good care of it. And they're going to keep it in their family. Apparently they've been looking for the same vote for a very long time. I got everything. I wanted out of the boat financially but i'm still sorry to see it go I had a lot of good times in that boat and I had some serious plans for it. The upkeep and the maintenance and the storage is just not my cup of tea. Yes, Bruce, I will be careful. There is some serious flames going on there for sure.
Yes, lots of rain here. I've got lots of work to do outside. Also to get ready for a trailer that I'm bringing in that. I'm gonna park in front of my shop
@@doinsngoins Those were some of the same thoughts my uncle had when he sold his sail boat. Actually said it was an actually money pit toward the end...as the berth costs and getting it in and out of the water at the end and beginning of the season was getting ridiculously expensive.
I believe that version is called the varifuel. It’s a liquid fuel only variant that does gasoline type fuels as well as kerosene type fuels with a jet change. The multifuel had the more advanced hose end that took butane as well. That’s the only major difference. It’s a solid performer. It’s like the Primus version of the msr xgk.
Wow, thank you, Krubbs. I really appreciate that. That's good information for the channel. I actually really like the stove. But the hose is the one thing that I think is a designs law. I don't like the very fine threads on both into the hose. Especially if one were to be swapping out fuels. This actually sort of makes sense now. This hose would not be tampered with for the most part. Once put a news, you always go with the wet fuel with the pump bottle, right?
To give you an example up by that aluminum pump that you thread into the bottle. That's aluminum and then there is a mail. Frost fitting that you screw into the pump. When you disassemble the unit, it is a ultrafine thread. And I can't imagine that the engineers wanted that to be unthreaded. Peach and every time you store the pump away. So now I'm storing the pump. Hose and stove altogether all hooked up
The other weird thing is an m. Sr has a fuel cable. It's actually a piece of cable that actually goes all the way from the burner through the hose and into the pump. Right just before the Palm. This stops just before the cable goes into the hose. Therefore, the hose has no. Support
Listen, sir, I thought we had an understanding that you wouldn't show off anymore of my dream gas stoves?! 😂 Sorry the boat is gone, but now on to something new!
Haaa haaa , well , yes I'm sad about the Boat but also glad is ways . Now the stoves .... they are not my favorite stoves there are some weird things about them , do the get good reviews ? Particularly the Himalaya??? I was hoing to look .
@@doinsngoins the Himalaya is known to be a VERY solid stove, at least in my circle. Whereas the MSR plastic pumps can turn brittle in cold and leave you stuck without a stove, the Primus pump on the Himalaya seems bulletproof other than those pesky orings that will stick and split if left unused for a long period. But as far as compact, lightweight, the MSR is better, but Primus seemed to fix the few little shortcomings of the MSR
@@doinsngoins well, I pulled an all-nighter last night and only got to bed at 9am, so I slept the day away 😆 haha. We are FINALLY supposed to get rain Wednesday with chances of damaging hail and tornadoes, but we need it! We've been under a pretty bad drought. I'm looking forward to the rain
Lovely looking stoves Steve.
the coffee was a reward for a good job done.

I have to be careful even myself Howard, I hope I don't end up not being able to drink coffee long term, but I do take a break from time to time.
