Its a joule thief with a extra coil , not OU . And there isnt any proof of negative resistance with this setup . Not bad mouthing it , just facts . And yes i have built it . But am glad your back into the experiments .
The device does operate in a negative resistance quadrant for a portion of it's cycle. For some reason, people feel that's OU. All that means is the coil on one side is acting as a current sink and allows a bit of ground current to flow into it. Every AC transformer with a ground-bonded secondary as a negative resistance portion of its cycle. I see the direction this experiment is trying to take. They want the negative resistance region of operation to exceed the normal resistance region. And there lies the rub...
