Given that removable nose-cone I'm really surprised the GBP doesn't fit. Guess it's future proofing for something, keeping the production lines simple, or some-such? Anyway, thanks for checking!
Yes, I would guess the nose is removable simply for production reasons. While a GBP VE-1 sounds fun, I'm glad they stayed true to the line art and didn't include the notch at the top of the chest. I did add a pic of a VE-1 kinda wearing the GBP on anymoon for you! anymoon.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/Bandai-HMR-VE-1-5.jpg
I think Bandai would respond to that by saying "Stay tuned!" They've been teasing larger VF-1 toys for a while now. The beauty of the much smaller scale of the Hi-Metal toys is that it allows them to make toys for the comparably huge mecha we see in the show, like the Regult, Glaug, and Monster.
Have you pre ordered the DX VF-31A Kairos? I just manged to get one myself very recently, luckily. Not a fan of the custom hero variants but the A kairos is a thing of beauty. Can't believe i nearly missed it! Hope you manage to get one so i can watch the review. Thanks for your great channel.
This thing is selling like hot cakes I think people who missed the Yamato releases and don’t wanna pay the $400+ for it now are living vicariously through this release 😆 happy to say I have both And the Chunky!
Thanks for this review. This is one of the coolest valkyrie variants.. and it only got like 3-5 seconds screen time?! haha.and only seen from the rear quadrant. Anyways, I had the Yamato version.. actually most of my last macross collection was from Yamato, but I have since sold it several years ago. However, I would like to get a good one going again and these Macross Hi-Metal R ones from Bandai look pretty darn good. I miss the larger scale of the Yamato ones.. 1/60? but, these at I think 1/100 are actually better for my limited space.. and, it puts them in close enough scale to some other Japanese anime model kits I have such as the starfighters from Battleship Yamato which are 1/100. hmm.. looks like this and the super Ostrich, which I had both in the original large scale Bandai and later the Yamato version should be next. I highly anticipate Bandai to eventually release all eligible mechas in the Hi-Metal R line in due time from both the Macross TV & Movie.
tamashii stage diplay stand act 5. But if you think the price to too steep, I recommend getting to knockoff chinese display stand from ebay. It is 3 bucks or less. I have them and they work perfectly
Should really be called lo-metal, but I like it. Having a bit of trouble getting gerwalk mode to fall into place. All in all didn't pay too much so I'm happy. The Yamato was a disaster imo.
ScorchedEarthToys are we talking the Yamato from about 10/15 years ago? If so it was a fiddly unstable mess. Ive got Spartan on the way. Curious to see how that stacks up. Looks nice.
Crazy how they make this lovely design just for a 2 second-appearance in the movie. Thanks for the video, my Elintseeker should be arriving soon !
Mine should be here this week. Can't wait! Excited for the eventual Super Ostrich as well.
Glad you showed the extension piece on the AWAC/Radome. Couldn't figure that out myself from the instructions

got the yamato 1/60 with the rainbow canopy, LOVEEEE IT, will be getting this item aswell...thank you for the video
Where can I get a display stand for this? I can't find them online
What a great and neat review, thank you for posting this Elint Seeker, its my most favorite
I love it! What a beautiful ship!
I'd buy each type of different brands, so they can be displayed in their best forms, and lessen wearing of parts.
You can actually see a Valk with a radome during the Force of Arms episode.
I like the looks of these hi metal pieces. But why don't they make them in the 1/55 scale?

This is my favorite Valkyrie design. It looks like something that could actually exist (despite the giant robot mode).

I do have a Kairos on order and plan to review it. Hopefully its arrival at my house doesn't coincide with Spring Break...

Does anyone know the time that it appears in movie?
Nice and thanks for sharing……
What was the name of the stand again please

Would this count as a p-bandai release?
No, this was a regular release.
😊👍

My Yamato review will be going up soon but I rather enjoyed it. What was your issue with it?

Ooooh, you're talking about the V1! Yeah... not a fan.
