I just want to say that essential oils can be very dangerous, especially if you have little kids. Putting them directly on your skin, undiluted, ingesting them, or getting them in your more vulnerable areas (like your eyes) can be really harmful, and they can cause allergic reactions. So frequently, the essential oil MLM people use these in ways they shouldn't, and it can be so damaging.

Yes, this! People forget that most things out in nature are "natural and non-toxic" but can still be poisonous to pets (eg. common lily flowers - lilium) as well as cause a variety of problems. Essential oils are unsafe to go anywhere near soft tissue like lips, eyes, nose and can even cause rashes and chemical burns (everything is made of chemicals, including plant based stuff) on normal skin.

Also there's no way that essential oils are really sanitizing or cleaning anything. I don't know what Purdy and Fig advertises itself as but it seemed like she used it as a cleaning product. It's a nice smell in an expensive looking bottle, that's it.

Yes!! They can be really dangerous for pets! Unless it states it is safe for pets, it isn’t safe for pets. They pick it up on their fur and feet and lick the oils off. It can be very deadly.

I feel like a lot of these types of videos are potentially quite damaging. You don’t appear to have a lot of knowledge about any of the products before you buy them.
This is just a suggestion but it makes more sense to save your money and research more before actually spending.
You clearly don’t have much of a skincare/make up background, so something like Beauty Pie isn’t aimed at you.
The essential oil based cleaners you used at your parents house are more often than not highly dangerous to cats and dogs. And can be harmful during pregnancy.
And from other comments here you either didn’t read the description for Huel or didn’t pay attention to how best to use them

  • @ailsalivingstone5249

Very unlikely that the cleaner has antibacterial properties. I think their whole argument is that you don't necessarily need those products in a home. Personally I would much rather use something I know is going to clean and is designed for that use than just some overpriced essential oils.

If you're looking for a cleaning product that's safe in pregnancy, essential oils are not the way to go. They're chemicals made by plants, but they're still chemicals, and a lot if them have been made by the plant for defence purposes. They're not gentle, they can be poisonous or cause skin irritation if not properly diluted in carrier oils.
If your priority is safely you're better off with an established brand like detol because they will only be choosing ingredients based on safety and efficacy not for marketing purposes

I know you said youd never buy Huel again, but i think you should try the hot and savoury product. I have a mixed opinion of huel. I used to be a big advocate for it, then i did a nutrition diploma and didn't agree with it any more. Also, if you have digestive issues the hot and savoury may be a better choice as obviously our bodies are designed to chew and swallow food. If youre drinking the shakes like a drink, you will feel hungry, and your gut will get a shock. You dont absorb the nutrients in the same way as whole foods. That being said my partner has food issues and finds it easier to have the hot and savoury at lunch than preparing anything. And atleast it does have the vitamins and minerals to help out his diet a bit rather than getting no veg or fruit at all.
Sorry this is is long but basically id like to see your opinion on the hot and savoury as it feels closer to real food.

I mean its still expensive for many of the people buying them though. Just because people are paid unfairly (which is horrible btw, companies like nestle are monsters for what they do) that doesn't mean that spending £80+ for clothes wouldn't be way out of league for many people. I don't get the point of this comment, because underpaid workers and overproduction are really sad and should be stopped obviously but it's not something the average person can actually change. If someone spends half their spare change for the month on clothes that they don't actually like, they shouldn't still feel greatful because in a perfect world it would be triple the price - that £40 is still alot for them, especially since living costs are rising everywhere and minimum wages are helping less and less

A cinnamon roll isn't a meal, and has no nutrients at all, so obviously the Huel will have more calories & ingredients. And agree the texture needs to be cold 😭

  • @thecrispymaster

I'm definitely more tolerant of protein products, but I have two main takeaways from the stuff I've tried and the issues boil down to two things:
    1) Whey Protein - I think it's this protein specifically that is the cause of the nasty aftertaste and texture that's commonly an issue with these products. On the occasions I do opt for protein bars I gravitate to vegan options that use soy or pea protein. However I think these taste much better with either actual sugar or just being salty/savoury which leads me to:
    2) Sweeteners - why are almost all of the companies insistent on pushing "sweet" protein products. Of the tastiest sources of protein that I don't need to refrigerate I land on either dried cured meats (like jerky) or dried beans/peas (which are also a good source of fibre). Both of these can be (and sometimes are) flavoured in interesting ways and they're both nicest when not trying to be too sweet. So why are these relegated to the sidelines in favour of trying to hide protein in fake tasting candy?

    • @elizabethrose7752
      @elizabethrose7752 3 місяці тому +1

Huel does a pretty good job. They are vegan, and use the pea protein isolate, but I just think Grace doesn’t like the chalky protein taste that comes with most of these products…because it’s just what they are.
Also, they use stevia I think to sweeten it, which is also an acquired taste, but of all the sweeteners, it is the most natural and gentle on the body for most people (as things like sugar alcohols, ie erythritol can be hard for some people to digest…me being one of them). I use huel because it does hit most of my nutritional needs, and dietary restrictions, and still tastes pretty good…but at the end of the day, if you don’t like protein powder, you don’t like protein powder. 😂🤷🏻‍♀️

Those clothes at the beginning looked like the cheapest things you could get from somewhere like Temu, and don’t get me wrong some Temu things are nice but those swimsuit type material dungarees were horrible. I’ve never tried any protein things so can’t comment on that. The Huel stuff I would never buy. So many of these things are awful and a rip off money wise and I feel like a lot of influencers are not honest about them

idk if anybody has said this but usually drinks that are intended to boost hydration only taste salty if you're hydrated and don't need to drink them! the way a lot of them work is that when you're dehydrated your brain will convince you that they taste sweeter so you drink more. if you always find drinks like Gatorade salty/chalky it's because your body doesn't need the extra electrolytes. super interesting!
also the youfoodz protein brownie is actually lowkey really nice haha

You HAVE to try the Fufill protein bars - specifically the Salted Caramel (is a teal coloured wrapper) and then my second fave is white chocolate peanut. Honestly the best protein bar I have ever had, and I’m very fussy. Swear down tastes like a chocolate bar instead of a protein bar. HOWEVER only try one from the shops, as myself and a friend bulk bought on Amazon and was a completely different recipe and product and tasted proteiny and awful. But seriously you have to try, all your ‘protein bar beliefs’ will be changed

I would say that to do a fair trial of it maybe you need to use it for a sustained period of time to allow the products to take effect, and maybe shop for your own needs rather than just what's popular on the site? Grace, have you ever tested yfood? It’s a meal replacement drink/powder, a bit like Huel, but I would imagine it tastes waaaaaay better!
I love their vegan chocolate yfood powder mixed with coconut milk (from a carton, not a tin), a big dollop of peanut butter, and some frozen bananas. Chuck it all in a blender and boom: a delicious chocolate+peanut butter smoothie, that is quite good for you* and tastes like you’re drinking ice cream 😋
(*yes yfood does contain sugar, but as someone with AuDHD who often forgets to feed herself / can’t always decide what to eat - this keeps me well fed on days when my brain doesn’t want to be helpful; and is definitely better for my body than a the stuff I’d find in a random cupboard raid 😂)

I stopped my subscription when I saw the same lady (wearing the same jumper as in the P&F advert) advertising another product that she again was telling us it was the best. Put me off completely.
Plus, pardon my ignorance but I have no idea what people are going on about with acronym references to religion. Is it relevant? I don’t want to have a huge discourse about it. It’s all been said. This is just a comment. Thank you Grace for your honest reviews.
