Thank you for your first aid videos, they helped me a lot to stay up to date with my first aid knowledge. Btw, I'm just a layman, but some things I've gathered from other videos about tourniquets: 1. The cable of the improvised tourniquet shown is very thin. Wider tourniquets are more effective in stopping arterial blood flow and won't damage tissue and nerves as easily, so if you can, try to find something wide for an improvised TQ. Thin TQs are bad (but better than bleeding to death obviously). 2. the video says "place the TQ as close to the wound as possible". I think if you want to place it closely, you should go for 2-4 inches above the wound (but not directly on a joint). Reason being that a severed artery can get shorter so if you place the TQ directly above the wound you might not even pinch the shortened artery and then it would continue bleeding internally which would be bad. Also some people say that it can be difficult to properly pinch the arteries on the lower leg and lower arm because there are two bones inside. So some say you should place the TQ at least above the knee or elbow even if your wound is near the hand or foot. Some even say "high and tight" is always the way to go, meaning that you should place the TQ as close to the shoulder or hip as possible, no matter where the wound is. (If you only have a very thin improvised TQ this might be a bad idea because it will probably damage tissue and nerves closer to the body than necessary but with commercially available good wide TQs ( CAT, SOF TT-W) this seems to be no problem).
life saving info. There's been cases where arms have been saved after 6 hours of having a tourniquet on. If there's any doubt, use it, it's better than dying.
Jeez, this man has been cut, choked, was unconcious many times... he should definitely get a raise for all that they put him through.
He gets paid minimum wage part time too hahahaha imagine

What happened to high and tight??
From a few accounts I've heard, getting a tourniquet on hurts more than getting shot.
The poor guy is probably wondering when he's gonna stop filming and take him to the damn hospital lol
GINA SALOMON. Put it above the elbow .why he didn’t not put it above the elbow .please someone explain?
How long can a limb go with a tourniquet attached?
About 6 hours. But you have to led the TQ on until a traumateam can give the medication or an Surgury is avalible
2 hours maxx
