There’s nothing better than being the first to find something! See also, anyone who’s found a missing Doctor Who episode…
Interesting contrast seeing Simon Ward as Sir Winston Churchill at the end of Sir Richard Attenborough’s biopic and in that brief TV-AM promo in his younger self in real life.
Sounds like Adrian Juste voicing the Look-In commercial.
"The Knightriders"?! The VO artist is a mug! It's KNIGHTRIDER! There is only one!
I always remember the ad breaks on LWT, between every ad the white squares moving from left to right. Didn't have that on ATV, don't think they had it on Thames either. Oh, the memories of my uncle Ray in Erith and his 26 inch COLOUR set!
ATV introduced the eye going down very quickly but it didn’t last very long
@@rtc9063 I barely remember that, around 1973 ish?
Might have been a bit later - it was very much blink and you’d miss it. I think it was faster than the LWT blocks. I thought it was in You Tube. I’ll have to have a look

'Surprise to see "The Smurfs" on a Friday, even allowing for it being a bank holiday.
I suppose this was to compensate for having no Children's ITV programming on this day so younger viewers in London were in for an extra treat on this occasion!!!!
Still better than the Young Doc. Its seems only YTV, HTV and maybe TVS took it everyone else had they own fillers.
4:59 with The South Bank😂😂😂. Proper rivalry Thames & LWT
It thawed very quickly then. On 25th November, I have a clip scheduled of LWT from 1985, during which they play a Thames-branded trailer for Monsignor Quixote! By 1986, they had a joint “theme” for their Christmas branding, which was the cartoon of a snowman in a snow-capped London.
Prince and Princess. How much has changed since then.
Indeed so there then too of course?!
I remember when Thames were hit by a strike and there were no programmes on Friday until LWT came on the air at 5.15 pm. What if it had been the other way round - what would the announcer at Thames have said before handing over to a blank screen?
How would I know?
The LWT announcer was Ruth Anders.
I guessed that this was Good Friday then as it was not the usual Friday sort of schedule if you know what I mean so then too of course?
I mean all progress was free on itv bring back all free films and all free on TV no repeaps no more paying for films on TV or progress
You still paid for ITV through the products you bought. They factor that cost in to the price they charge you for buying their products.
TV in the 80s was great; Took almost no time at all to realise there's nothing on. 1, 2, 3, 4 .. OFF.
