I found a 1960 hardback copy of this book (titled The Saragossa Manuscript: A Collection of Weird Tales at my neighbourhood bookstore and bought it on impulse. I finished it today and was struck by the narrative structure and the creativity of the writing. it's definitely a book I see myself returning to again in the future. thanks for the video!

This is one of my favorite books. I've read it at least three or four times.

Excellent synopsis and historical perspective. I read the book well over 20 years ago and it made an indelible impression on me as far...the multiple stories were interwoven seamlessly. Great video and many thanks.

Oh wow. Impressive. Thank you for this. I am extremely intrigued. I will pick this up from Barnes & Noble. I've experienced the framed story in Joseph Conrad's "Heart of Darkness" too. Keep up the terrific work. You have my support. People should read more.

Hello! I just discovered your channel and this video, as I received this novel for Christmas from a friend, and I wanted a good introduction so I wouldn't miss anything. This is the best introduction to the novel on UA-cam. Well done! I have watched a few of your videos now, and though I see you have not produced one in quite awhile, I wanted to let you know your work is very good. I'm 30% through the novel now, and I'm enjoying it immensely. Thanks for helping prepare me to get the most out of it!

I'm not sure what parts of this review even mean, but I would like to adopt a Baroque style of sorts to incorporate the Spanish genre of picaresque into my comment. Thanks for this video about a curious book. Not sure when I'll get to it since I have a pile of books stacking up, but I'm probably gonna buy it.

Creo que el video hubiera tenido más alcance en idioma español.
