- The Tennessee Titans made news on Thursday when they signed veteran safety Jamal Adams. Adams is a former All-Pro, but that is a far cry from the player he is today. Adams' skillset is an interesting one and his fit in the defense seems simple. Finally, Adams adds depth, but it is hard to get too excited about this move.

Tyler come on bro - you reaching too high. Last year was his first year back from injury. He played 9 games which was good coming back from a serious injury. It usually takes 2 years to fully recover. He coming off an injury where his leg was in a cast for 5 months. Then the year before you mentioned he played one game *only reason he was injured that game. Damnnnnn then to say he’s not better than Elijah Molden is disrespectful. I think he’s going to prove you wrong.

This doesn’t stop us from signing Simmons in my opinion. Our DC is a DB guy. You could take a guess where he would like to load up on the defensive side.

B- …sounds weird now, but I would play him at Nickel backer, and dime backer, exclusively. Use his pursuit skills and use him as the 4th or 5th pass rusher coming from depth in pass situations. Dennard’s gonna throw some stunts in there that’ll keep the offensive line on their toes. Picture a 3rd and long pass rush with Weaver, Landry, Key, Simmons, and Adams getting after the QB. That might be kinda nasty.

I don’t think that this fully removes the titans from signing another safety. I don’t think they are still actively looking, but the money they are paying Adams doesn’t mean they can’t still sign someone else.

Tyler Rowland - first off I viewed two things as a fan. When Jamal Adams was with the Jets he was good with coverage and defense but when traded the Seahawks he was good but didn’t fit their scheme, his numbers and play declined. Injury happens and everyone wants to write him off

Scheme could be the factor. Clowney played well when he left the Titans.
Injury with him concerns me more than his coverage ability... He will be around the line of scrimmage on early downs and probably the blitzer on 3rd downs. Justin Simmons wants to much and doesn't want to do training camp... The Titans needed a safety to come in for training camp because it's a new defense.

Who said this was the last safety signing. Or that they will even treat him as a safety. They had enough sense to move James Williams to safety, even if Adams is listed as a safety, he essentially o going to be used as an attacking linebacker in sub packages. Expect a lot of blitzes and in the box activity even in coverage. Denard will k now how to use him. The titans definitely needed more physical players. There’s a theme coming with Denard. A lot of subpackages and physical play.
With this signing, it's pretty clear that the safety position will be addressed next year. Unless Justin Simmons brings his price way down.

Most players in the NFL are successful due to the scheme of the team. Let's see what Adams bring to the team.
We are definitely drafting a safety next season regardless of who was getting signed this season. I think he will be there for specific packages. I think Molden will get more snaps to see if he can be the long term solution as a starter.

This isn't that horrible of a signing we need to trust the system and what we have going on its year 1 for all new staff and 2nd year for our GM trust the process we'll make playoffs and saying Adams at 213 pounds is more a D Lineman than safety is absurd it takes time to rebuild most teams don't even rebuild as well or fast as we have it's rare so take a seat and enjoy the ride for what the future will be it's going to be A O K

Jamal will be a veteran depth piece. He won't be our safety 1 by any stretch. It is a spot we needed to fill, But with this signing, I think it's obvious that the Titans will wait until next season to address a more permanent Safety signing. I do agree that he will most likely play a linebacker role in this defense. You can tell the team is amp'd about it this signing, The OPT interview is already out.
