Cool sketch and great tutorial. Question: Instead of white, have you thought about using a light orange/peach to lighten the red of the chair?

Thanks. Yes, and even allowing the white of the paper to shine through for the highlights. Trouble is that this paper is terrible for markers and light, medium and dark tones don’t work very well. Instead greys and white pen/pencil. Why do I use this paper then? I just use it for my Instagram sketches, and nothing much else. I know that the sketches will be dull and a bit flat, so I’m not under pressure to produce presentation sketches or artwork. This frees me up to focus on sketching for communication instead. Quick, descriptive sketching that helps me to explain my thoughts. It’s one of many strategies I use in my teaching, for reducing pressure. Hope that makes sense.
