Another tip for rubbing the transfer foil on the nail is take a piece of Saran Wrap, crumple it into a ball and rub it over the transfer foil. It glides smoothly over the foil with no friction.

These were all some great tips! Also, something I've discovered is that some foils transfer better if you apply the foil gel to the back of the foil instead of the nail, then you cure it, let it cool & it basically just turns it into a giant sticker.

I have a huge 3-ring binder full of transfer foils that I never use cause I could never get a really good transfer. I'm still learning I'm just DIY.. but the hack from daily charme (wiping the foil gel after curing) made a huge difference for me. I fell in love with foils before I even knew how to use them 😂. I had ordered several packs of assorted foils and some of them are the thicker plastic like... with super intricate designs that need a perfect transfer or there's no way of lining it up right, like mandalas etc.. anyway I was finally able to get a whole transfer 😄 SORRY FOR THE NOVEL

Have you ever tried to transfer foil on glass. I am trying to do a multi media glass painting and I want to use the foil for effect. Do the same rules apply for glass as for nails?
I have never tried anything like that, but I don't see why it shouldn't work. The only think is that glass is pretty smoothe and the foil gel may have a hard time sticking to it. If it's not working, perhaps try buffing the glass surface lightly to give the foil gel something to grip to, but of course do a test run before trying on the real thing! I'm so curious about this, if you try it let me know how it goes! ❤️

I too watched a bazillion videos on transfer foils and I honestly do not think that they said to wipe off the tacky layer of your gel color before applying the foil glue. I have so many foils that have been sitting in their cases collecting dust ...time to pull them back out and play 💅🏻

@watermelonlemonadenails so my mom and I do nail art together on weekends being as we are separated by distance. Getting them placed on the nail in 1 piece, I think has been hardest for us

@@KzooBeerGirl so long as the foil gel is properly cured I don't see why it would be an issue. Perhaps put a base coat or top coat over the regular polish, buff the nail gently and then apply foil gel if there is an issue

It can be used over regular polish, however the foil gel that adheres the gel to the nail is a gel that needs to be cured in a UV/LED lamp. I have seen videos on UA-cam where people use a base coat to adhere foils but I myself have never had luck with it
Most of mine are from vettsy or Amazon. You don't need "high quality" foils, I've found they're all the same. It's technique and foil gel that'll make the difference

Have you tried capping the free edge and around the sides of the nail with top coat? And if you've got longer nails perhaps try also coating the underside of the nail with top coat so the whole nail is encased in a layer of top coat
I do cap, but they still do. I do wear my nails super short though. But it may be lifting due to other reasons, so will try your hacks and see if they last longer! Thx so much for the awesome video!
What works for me is filing the free edge after applying the chrome and then top coating, and capping the free edge. I'll definitely try out my foils again. They've been left one side for a very long time (always get anxiety whether they'll work or not) 😅
I just wanted to ask if you're tried a thin coat of clear builder gel before top coat?Sometimes(4me anyway-everyones nails are different)this helps protect my designs.Just a suggestion. Good luck!💅

If you remove sticky layer from gel polish then my question is does this transfer foil gel stays secure 3 to 5 weeks on that cleaned polish and doesn't peel off?
Once removing the sticky layer, and then curing the foil gel and applying the foil, I apply 2 layers of top coat and cap the free edge and sides. I've gotten over a month of wear time with minimal chipping
Do you use expensive foil? Just wondering because I have been struggling and I don’t know if price makes a difference. I did get the beetles brand of foils and glue and I’m struggling but I will try these tricks and see if it goes better.
My biggest issue i have other then what this solves is the gel coming loose off of the foil after a day or 2.. do you have a tip for that? Ive only used smaller then the nail designs so the gel fully encases the design.. but just capping the nail isnt enough for a full nail foil.
I do sometimes get a bit of foil chipping on my right hand that is my dominant, primarily because I use my nails to scrub dishes sometimes (shh don't tell!) but my left hand holds up pretty well. Have you tried double top coating?
I've been doing the 2 - 60 sec cures too. I saw it on more than one video actually. I've not had an issue with that method and always let it cool down.

I have seen videos in the past of people using a base coat to transfer foils, but I don't have any experience with it so I can't speak to the success of that technique

As i watched this in my recommended Videos i grabbed some tips and foil gel, some so hated foils and the magic happened 😅i also tried overcuring,undercuring, let cool down, Clean the backside but it never accured to me to Clean the surface itself. My problem isnt transfering the foil but the top coat and foil peeling or chipping off so the designs on the nail end up not lasting

Yes and the higher the % the better imo as you don't want to add water/impurities to the nail
Just regular isopropyl alcohol from the pharmacy/drug store. Doesn't need to be fancy

How do you make them last? My foiled and chromed nails chip within days despite double top coat. Do you base before topping after foiling?

I also treat this like I would a chrome nail and lightly buff the free edge before double top coating and then making sure to seal the edges helps

Your info is good, but you way overexplain everything. You do a lot of repeating and use a LOT of words. Trust your audience a little more, that we're going to understand.

My goodness right 🥴.. another tip I just tried is wiping your transfer gel with alcohol after curing it.. I seen this from daily charme in one of their Instagram videos.. it was a perfect transfer ❤

@@lifeandrandomness1868 I only work with gel so I have minimal experience with regular polish. The foil gel typically used to transfer foils is a gel that needs to be cured in a UV/LED light. I have seen videos in the past of people using a base coat to transfer foils, but I don't have any experience with it so I can't speak to the success of that technique

Thank you ❤those tips make ALL the difference in the world. I am doing nsils for 6! Years now. I csn sculpt, work with acrylic and stamp like a pro but omg did i HATE foils😂. As i watched this in my recommended Videos i grabbed some tips and foil gel, some so hated foils and the magic happened 😅i also tried overcuring,undercuring, let cool down, Clean the backside but it never accured to me to Clean the surface itself. Also lerting it cool down helps a lot. Thank you❤we need to give you a Profit like femi beauty with her lazy girl method. , we should Call this the xy( your name) method😉
