    "And it came to pass in those days, as it had come before and would come again, that the Dark lay heavy on the land and weighed down the hearts of men, and the green things failed, and hope died.
    And men cried out to the Creator, saying, O Light of the Heavens, Light of the World, let the Promised One be born of the mountain, according to the prophecies, as he was in ages past and will be in ages to come. Let the Prince of the Morning sing to the land that green things will grow and the valleys give forth lambs. Let the arm of the Lord of the Dawn shelter us from the Dark, and the great sword of justice defend us.
    Let the Dragon ride again on the winds of time.”

      Same here, some amazing moments and also some head scratching ones as well. I think they did great with this moment for sure. The visual medium is so different. When I first read the books I thought " hmm gee I wonder if the character we started off in POV with will be the Dragon?" lol. Not much of a shocker, I thought it was cool that they could actually play up the mystery more in the show.

    I never read the books, so this reveal was quite the surprise for me. They did a really wonderful job of hiding Rand’s ability to channel throughout the season. So naturally, I found myself shouting “Oh of course it’s Rand! How the hell did I not see that coming?” It’s so cliche, but man did I love it.

    I was frustrated before, but this episode was REALLY good. It showed he knew he was the Dragon Reborn the moment he channeled. But he had a complex with his friends. Also his chuckling and snickering this episode showed some of the taint seeping into his psyche. Really well done visual adaptation, too bad other episodes suffered. As a book reader I surprisingly enjoyed this.

      @@brandon7024 In the show it's really confusing. He checks the age and channeling parts, but in the show they haven't said anything about where the Dragon will be born (on the slopes of Dragonmount) and from whom (born of the Maiden), which are part of the prophecy. Just Min saying that she saw a baby that was "impossible".
      In episode 5 Rand is looking at the Karaethon Cycle in the library/books shop, which are the prophecies of the Dragon, but they don't explain it in the show and Moiraine treats all of them as very unreliable. They went a bit too extra with hiding him.

Also there are random consequences to first time channeling, and he feels like he is losing his mind when he notice his own weird behaviour and then fall sick. How are people praising this as a "great reveal"? It's absolutely terrible and objectively makes no sense. Moiraine specifically says that you cannot trust anything Machin Shin says, yet her and Rand instantly believe he's the Dragon Reborn just because Machin Shin said so.
    And that's not to mention how the few hints and indications that Rand is the Dragon Reborn are only shown to us AFTER the reveal. You literally can't even say "oh yeah, the hints add up!" like you SHOULD be able to, because none of the hints were even shown to us until the plot twist had already happened. It's literally lesson 101 in how NOT to write a plot twist.
    And then him being the Dragon Reborn amounts to nothing anyway, and he is completely overshadowed in the final episode by having his epic demonstration of power given to other characters. Why is the Dragon Reborn even necessary if five untrained women can take out up to 20'000 trollocs on their own in a matter of seconds? (Which also makes no sense considering how, earlier in the show, seven fully trained Aes Sedai struggled so much against maybe a couple of hundred soldiers.)
    This is a mess, and you have to be deluding yourself to think otherwise. Robert Jordan's books deserved so much better.

      As someone who loves Brandon Sanderson, but has yet to dive into the Wheel of Time, I had the same thoughts related to Machin Shin. As a viewer, all I could think at the time was "oh, well Rand is clearly being lied to because this is Machin Shin after all!". So that moment actually did not jell with me either no matter how dramatic/epic they made the "reveal" out to be. I watched Brandon's Season One discussion on his podcast and it was here I learned that Rand was the one who was supposed to showcase his power on the Trollocs, so I'm with you here.

      @@EternalMariam Rand doesn't kill all those trollocs either in the book though. Many just run after he starts to attack and the Fal Dara army takes care of the rest. He was also crazy overpowered at the Eye, unlike the circle in the show. Regarding the comments wars... well, the adaptations are never TOTALLY faithful to the books. Even authors like Crichton who were almost writing scripts at times saw changes to their work. So there are the people who realize this is going to happen and live with it because they love the material and characters, the people who realize this is going to happen but don't like the changes, and the people who can't stand the fact that the books got changed and constantly feel the need to complain that such-and-such was different in the book. I read something on the web and a lot of femminist are disappointed that the dragon is not Nyneve or Egwyne. For the first time in years the chosen one is a male, white, hetherosexual, tall, atletic and with light hairs. I am surprised that amazon made a so shocking choice XDXDXD

      @@drachna yes, but it not rare that the producer made change in the sex or color of the skin of some character to make happy the politically correct fan. An example is Triss of the witcher, from a you white girl with red hair, thewy chose an actor that is afroamerican of middle age. A drastic change that leads to nowhere. For these reason I was worried that they have changed something of the story for this reason. I am glad that this time was not the case.

      @UCtbi84Cv5wJkG-zTdJrDgGw For starters it’s called having an opinion where not everyone has the same view on something so I’m not a troll in case you were wondering. There’s shows I love, like, dislike and despise, this being one of them where I am simply expressing my righteous anger at a simply horrendous adaptation. And to bluntly answer you're question of how is it a bad adaptation? We’ll simply because this show has no respect for the source material where I am convinced the writers of this show did not read the books where it treats it’s characters unevenly at best to flat out disrespectful and destructive of their traits at worst. As well as disregarding and sh*t-ting on the lore and world of Robert Jordan’s work. Oh, it’s also a very misandrist show as well.

      Now that you know who the Dragon is, Robert Jordan always wrote two things, which the saga relies on:
      1) There were 3 ta'veren in Two Rivers (Rand, Mat, Perrin). Egwene was NOT a ta'veren in the books. But she may as well be, for the things she'll accomplish;
      2) The Dragon can only be MALE. Now, I don't know wether they made it possible for the Dragon to be female and shattered in five different bodies for politically correct or to make the mistery bigger (in the books you get it's Rand as soon as they leave Emond's Field). Perhaps the both of them.
