AF because it's thick AF, nice AF, pretty AF, sounds nice AF, expensive AF, cool AF, etc. I always say I don't play jazz, I can only play jazzy. You played very nice jazzy.
Super 58 pickups are basically Ibanez's take on the P.A.F. sound. They're not a high gain/high output metal shredder pickup, that Ibanez is mostly associated with. They're made for blues, jazz, hard rock, country, and classic rock, and have a more mellower tone.
Really nothing new to the lineup but I enjoy the fact that ibanez still finds it useful to make the old school semi hollow and hollow body guitars. That semi hollow can be a total rock monster if you want it to be, kinda like an es335
The rubber on archtops and hollows is for the switch doesnt vibrates and rattles due the resonance of the top, also prevents the wood for cracks, softer than screw the switch direct to the wood.
Congratulations, both models are top notch. The AF2000 is my favorite. Your presentation is interesting, objective and impartial, and after this presentation, I am determined to buy and own those two guitars. Thank you for the quality presentation. (:
Think a bit about that rubber grommet Henning...it goes trough the top and looks close to similar on the other side. It is there to isolate the switch from the acoustic top and muffle the operational use, keep in mind that these type of guitars are mainly used with other acoustic instruments, so the ones that play them want as little klink and klonk as possible, without the grommet the switching operation would be a lot louder cause of the thick top on a hollow body design, there is a lot of resonance going on there.
I have to admit that I totally believe your clothes should match your guitar and that duck shirt goes fantastically perfect .... That being said, I completely agree when you mentioned something about the guitar taking you places! 💜💙
The washers having the sharp bit sticking up have bugged me so much recently on my own Ibanez SIX6DFM (these washers are to retain the position of the switch when surface mounted on panels, the thread has a notch in which line up with the washer and the washer should be turned over to lock into a metal panel) I took them off today, sanded them down with a Dremel and flipped them over. Now I am happy! Definitely not meant for a guitar though!
The white rubber might be to isolate the switch from the body to stop thumps when you wack the switch. Could have made it black. The hook on the washers is to keep tge switch from rotating, but not when pointed up. It's to go into the body into a small hole to anchor it.
Jazz - nice... Henning: check out the Spanish guitarist Carla Motis from the Sant Andreu Jazz Band based in Barcelona, she plays an Ibanez George Benson GB10, and she has tone for days :-)
Metaaaaaaaaallll wait what... jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazz ! All that something something something jazz sided! Jatel , metazz ... music don’t care what ya called it as long as it’s heard! Cool looking bridges on those big boxes.
Oi, cheers from Boston, Henning! you Berklee alum!, how did you like Beantown? :) and lol love sandman licks on this jazzbox spass why not! hugs to Noodle!!!!
My two cents: Fujigen made Ibanez quality not great these days. Just got a new AS2000 $3K top end unit with one thread hole stripped, tooling issues on the acrylic binding, settings all wrong and one Gotoh machine head very hard to spin. I have a telecaster made in Indonesia of better quality, and it was 1/3 of this Ibanez. Called Ibanez and they told me to ship it to the only one location they provide service in US on my money. Very disappointing! Ibanez, I've promissed you a video on youtube about what you sell and how you treat your clients. That will come shortly, I just purchased a GB10 so now I will be able to provide a broader picture of these issues. BTW nut is 44.5mm (1-3/4") instead of 43mm (1-11/16mm) as advertised by Ibanez. Their explanation is that it is the paint in top of the nut. Childish isn't it? In stead of a modern medium you get a wide nut.
What a stunning guitar. I have an epiphone Sheraton pro . Which I adore. Is this something similar would you say? And worth buying even if have the epiphone. Much respect from the UK. Your videos/humour keeping me sane in these long days.. keep up the good work
Same basic shape, but the AS2000 is higher quality than the Sheraton and the neck feels nicer to me with rounder edges. The Ibanez pickups are a little darker than the ProBuckers, which makes it easier to get a more traditional jazz tone.
21:50 When your dad wants you to practice jazz guitar but you're actually a metal head Pd: For next time, i think jazz guys would be also interested in knowing how it sounds with the tone rolled off or in 5 instead of just 10
I'd be playing jazz just as good as you if I had that guitar.....nope....sounds good. out of my price range and don't have the ability to make it worthwhile though
Nice review. However, when you started critiquing the two guitar finishes as ugly, my first thought was, "Have you looked at the shirt you're wearing?"
I'm considering saving up for a jazz guitar, to explore on, but am lefthanded & have a limited budget. Have you ever played or reviewed the ibanez AS53?
I like jazz guitars from ibanez but im not intending to use them for jazz only...high gain for me...and no i don't mind feedback, at all...as a hoby/home guitarist
Sorry to be negative. And you usually sound great. But using that delay in the beginning...not working with the jazz, in my opinion. Liked the Jazz though. Yep, I'm old.
To review a jazz box I really am against any reverb or chorus whatsoever on clean channel - but that's just me ... The sunburst on both these guitars is utterly cheesy. Looks like a giant guitar pick with an almost hard edge. Definitely assembly line stuff ... Nice review overall, thanks !
"The guitar has (fill in the blank) and I don't know what that is." 🤦🏻#facepalm. At least do a little background research on things about the guitar that you don't know about before talking about it.

Good review. The as 2000 is a semi hollow body. Absolutly not only for jazz. You may not dgent with, but from clean to hard rock, it's more than ok.

good explanation... might be better to make it black then
@@EytschPi42 yea, that is the usual color those come in
I gotta say, the djazz box through the REVV 100P was surprisingly amazing.
I have to admit that I totally believe your clothes should match your guitar and that duck shirt goes fantastically perfect ....
That being said, I completely agree when you mentioned something about the guitar taking you places! 💜💙
"Um no really I don't know jazz, really I'm just estimating."
Yea that's how you play jazz.

Lovely guitar, my AZ prestige needs another yibaneth friend. Great job HP, richtig!
We all knew that you would play metal on them. Loved it! They sound great!
You sound like a great jazz player to me . Really really nice 👍 they sound great .

That was sweet my German bro.You got that Jazz in you. Jazz is also about improve ,listening etc.You nailed it 👍🏿😊🕺🏿🕺🏿🕺🏿
Jazz - nice...

The Mr GooGoo works but you are missing the Fedora, the sunglasses and the (candy) cigarette.
I once saw cattle decapitation live and one of the guitarists was playing the lower end version AS93, so I’d say yes, it’s a good metal guitar.
Metaaaaaaaaallll wait what... jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazz !
All that something something something jazz sided!
Jatel , metazz ... music don’t care what ya called it as long as it’s heard!
Cool looking bridges on those big boxes.
Nicest black ducks shirt ever! Nice review on the ibbys btw
I have an AS73 from 2006, main guitar, best guitar... and horns look better than Gibsons.
Taking a wild guess ,maybe the rubber prevents those switches coming loose and moving ,through use ,as they sometimes do.
I have an AK95 and an AFJ95-7.Amazing instruments
Henning: "Jazz is good and all but have you played Bon Jovi wearing a shirt with black rubber ducks?"
EXACTLY!
I was saving up for a 175 but I think I want this af2000
Love the random "Aztec" camel creaping in! :-)

The bone was probably bleached. That’s why it’s so white 👍🏻

love me an archtop - keep guitar in tune... let's add a floating bridge to the equation..
Great review!
Just found this video... wow... this is a blues monster. Yes, great philosophy regarding of how a guitar speaks, and then run with it!

My AM73 is permanently drop D as my Tool guitar. Works great
No responsible parent would lead their children towards playing jazz music.
Trying to make sense of Ibanez part numbers is like looking the devil in the eye and taunting him
Es bueno verte tratando.
What about the weight of the AF2000 ? More than 3 kg ?
Look at Mr. Fancy Pants now putting control schemes on screen.
super fancy pants! My buddy Jason is awesome for making these!
You sold me. Thanks!!!
Very nice ...🤘🎸🎼🎵🎶🎵🎶🤘
Jazz, jazz, jazz guitar for few, batman, jazz !
(Search Kiss Shreds if you wonder what the fuck went through my mind !) :D
i think ibanez were very smart in asking you to review those 2 guitars
I'd be playing jazz just as good as you if I had that guitar.....nope....sounds good. out of my price range and don't have the ability to make it worthwhile though
Wooow, that's my guitar!

great guitars
@@EytschPi42 thanks. I don't suppose you have a review of one on your channel do you?
Great video (i wear black rubber ducks! - haha), thanks man!
what in the blue fuck!! love the jazz chops.
Tempted to get the AF to play Steve Howe licks on. Only money. And talent. Hmmm.
They should call them JAF standing for "Jazzy as fuck"😃
I love the AM size and the AS headstocks. I'm not digging the AM one. I also like when they match.
I also love the quick change 3 bridge from Gibraltar and i think they need a 7 string edition with fan frets and locking tuners. ;)
I like jazz guitars from ibanez but im not intending to use them for jazz only...high gain for me...and no i don't mind feedback, at all...as a hoby/home guitarist
Don;t think Aztec necks are good for Jazz. Shoulda been a Mayan Neck.
As both are extinct, you'll probably need a CITES certificate.
Olmec = truly authentic
It’s a hollow body. You don’t have to jazz it up. They’re used across the spectrum of music, as you can see. Minus the gold hardware, they’re awesome.
All that jaaaazzzzzzzzzz!!!!
Jep, it can !!😘🇦🇺🇩🇪 Jazz, Rockabilly, Blues and so much more, which U don't know! Sorry U are a lovely .....
Eierkopp! So sweet! 😂 😘
Sorry to be negative. And you usually sound great. But using that delay in the beginning...not working with the jazz, in my opinion. Liked the Jazz though. Yep, I'm old.
Ask my mom who makes the best guitars....
That sound is heavy AF
Sweet ,,Guitarist used one a Jazz Guitar
First things first : do you jazz ?
not really
Same design as the discontinued GB 200
32:34 - “For the Love of Wes?”
The description says you dont know how to play jazz but i do not believe you lol
Jazz oder Nie
