In August, the tart, winey flavour of plum is gently softened with sweetness, making people want to take a bite of it in the hot afternoon. Sweet and sour plums can refresh your body and soul. I’ll use the juiciness of plums to prepare several refreshing appetizers. Using fruity ingredients to add aroma and flavour to our food is the essence of “One Fruit for a Table”. In this series, you can see familiar ingredients appear in surprising ways and imagine how stunning and joyful it is when it’s hitting all your taste buds. I hope you like this series as always.

看到今天的影片想起在阿婆家的小時後，隨手可摘的矮柿子樹，酸不溜丟的李子，二、三樓高的蓮霧，最喜歡偷吃河邊鄰居種的甘蔗，後院種的龍眼跟土芭樂跟琵琶樹，還有另外一種品種的軟柿子～真的好懷念！人不在變成老家，一言難盡的甜美回憶，以及難過的傷痛。我真的好想祢，好想祢。我也再也吃不到真正好吃的客家食物了！

been a fan of apenjie's video since pandemic hit. her videos are a breathe of fresh air. so comforting. so homey. i also love the family and the whole village interaction. It feels like everyone in the village know each other. It reminded me of my childhood. Also i think one of the unique factor of apenjie's videos is them eating together in one table and sharing the meals made by her. really what a beautiful family 💜
edit: Ahao is so tall now. The first time i watched the videos he was still a little boy. he grew up well. 😁

In the NYC area, we ate a lot of the black plums growing up; but lately, they became so exorbitant, that I stopped
buying them. Would not be surprise if they are $4 -$5/lb presently, in my neighborhood. (Cheaper in Chinatown.)
