Your last video was a great help to me. My fife male canary had to go to a vet for a mite check, and he needed his nails trimmed. We were terrified regarding how to get him into a travel cage. (We lost our previous female canary from a broken leg and had very bad experiences with going to two vets. We don't know how she broke her leg, but she died anyway) "Julius" is in a flight cage, so the day before the appointment I put the travel cage inside, with his foods and treats inside. (I got the idea from your last video on training your birds for show) He did acclimate to going in the flight cage to eat within one day. So the next day we attached a string to the flight cage and carefully and safely trapped him. The good news is he was only molting and did get the nail trim also. He made it home and it was a big relief. I couldn't bear to lose two canaries in 2 months! Thank you!

Hi Matt great episode again. Just one thing regarding classification of Fawns, do variegated and h/v fawns all belong in the Fawn class or can they be shown in variegated or h/v whites?

Hello from California , I’ve been watching your shows learned a lot thank you !! New to Canarys and I love it . Got myself 3 pairs of glosters , 3 pairs of red lipochrome , question for the life of me I can’t find a cage fronts in the USA for sale , have any recommendations for those of us that like DIY ? 12x14

Will there also be a category for a singing canary at the show? How would they judge a singer? Have any of your canaries ever won a ribbon for singing? Great info by the way.
I’m not sure, if there is I’ll film it! No the Fife is a type canary, although it does have a nice song
Thanks for another great video on the wonderful Fife Canary, and for your show team tips; but especially for your teaching on the important point of over showing birds and show team planning to avoid this.
Also, I'm very happy to see that the cultural fairness that was an integral part of Canary showing, when I was active, has made it into the digital age and is still prevalent, and continues to be promoted by example. I remember reading about the reason for having a regulated show cage, and what came before the Border Canary show cage was developed, where certain breeders could be identified by their show cages, and so receive consideration and even an advantage in the judging. It's good to see people being openly careful on not identifying easily identified birds that will be at a show.
