To anyone confused about what's going on...quick synopsis. Group A was trying to kill a big ship belonging to group B. Group A has THE BIGGEST ship that shoots a one-shot kill on big ship belonging to Group B. Group A pilot jumps into system at the "beacon (cyno field)" and attempts to shoot his big one-shot at big ship, but he has his safety one (just imagine a gun safety...easier that way). Before he realizes his safety is on, he warps off to protect his BIGGEST SHIP. Everyone laughs when they realize he screwed up over having his safety on.

If you attack a neutral(someone not at war with you) in high sec the "police" come and one shot you with their battleship so safeties will prevent you from doing something like that and losing your ship. However, since a Titan can't go to high sec I don't really see a point in having the safety on but maybe he was flying something else and then forgot about his safety as it stays the same if you change ships.

At 1.0 to 0.5 you can shoot anyone, but will unavoidably be destroyed by the "police" and every sentry will shoot you, also players are free to shoot. At 0.4 to 0.1 The protection from the Police drops and destruction can be avoided but, and here comes the rookie mistake in the big ships pilots action: Due to to mass suizide of pilots accidently activating a module causing them bein flagged as a pirate or hostile player, the game devs implemented a security button. If it's green you wont ever be able to take a hostile action or activate modules that could cause it, like the giant beam of death. If it would be set to red he would have deactivated all the security measurments and would be free to do whatever. Also there is 0.0 where that option doesnt matter because there are no player helping mechanics where those ships usually fly.
Super cap proliferation everyone. Why can't I shoot in low sec? Do you have your safety turned on? NO! [checks UI for what the safety might be.] I mean, yes. This is why I don't fear random super drops.

The safety didn't always exist - Some people have been living in null for longer than the safety even existed - and in Null safety doesn't mean anything. So many time someone who is not used to fighting in Lowsec may end up there and be like "wtf why cant I shoot"
Honestly, it is one of the things that you need to pay really good attention to when creating alts that you rarely use (such as a Titan alt). Other things include having diamond npc's on your overview, having the correct systems on your avoidance list if that's something you work with, sorting shortcuts and clearing those keys that you need for push to talk, keeping fittings (e.g. of your camper alts) up-to-date through the patches and many more. It is a lot that can go wrong, eve is a complex game. But you're not wrong. If you are flying a Titan, that's something you should have figured out. Calmer comms where he could have emergency-asked with a "check-check!" before he initiates warp help as well, and knowing your range ofc.
back in my day, a whole alliance would have quit the game forever if they gave a guy like that a Titan.... apparently, Titans are extremely accessible nowadays lol
titans arent given to people by their alliance, they are grinded for by single players and boughten, titan hull now is only about 50b which takes about a week to grind for in a carrier

Regardless it kinda takes a while to rat enough cash, about less than 230 hours ... You could however rat with a hyperspartial Nyx with damage and application instead of tank but thats a gigantic shitfit you don't want to get the shame having it blow up on your killboard. It has the benefit of pulling ~180mil ticks tho.

Not quite. The equivalent of 4K. You can play EVE for free, if you mine enough, or sell enough loot to make ISK ( the in game currency) a paid subscrition each month is about 20 dollars. Which currently at the moment gets you about 1.5 billion ISK. Big corporations have fleets that mine. So it's not like you actually invested 4 K of your own money into the game. You CAN, but most players are pretty frugal about spending thier own real money into the game.
So you can use real money to buy plex, which is a virtual currency. You can then use plex to buy ISK, the in-game currency. Therefore you can calculate the conversion rates of ISK to real money, and calculate how much in-game things cost in real life.
Most likely because people that fly titans have played the game for years and lived in Null so long they can't even remember there is the concept of a Safety.

You can DD in LowSec, just not AoE DDs. He had a single target one but he has his safety on, probably because his titan alt is older than the safety feature, and thats the first time he's had to use it in LowSec. He's probably never tampered with it on that account

this might be a stupid question, i have never played eve before so i ask, why would you need safety on a giant-ass Warship?

That’s not entirely true
The safety thing was not his ship safety but the fact, that you can’t DD in low sec, same as you can’t bomb or bubble
