Love those Hologram cards. I remember trying to find those as a kid. I have a couple unopened boxes of this on the shelf that I plan on opening on the channel soon. Can't get enough of the nostalgia in this Junk Wax stuff.
When this set was new, the rookie standouts 'subset' cards were hot. Can tell them by the rookie standouts icon where the team logo normally is. They acted sort of like an insert set, but were numbered as a normal card. N that Larry Johnson base rookie was real hot, along w mutombo. Fleer had a rookie sensations set, (I believe from same year, had Payton and Gill in it) but it was super hot for a while, and I suspect one day it will have a resurgence because it's quite a nostalgic set for anyone from that era, and it just has a great old school Fleer insert look.
I opened some of these cards. There are so also some David Robinson holograms. You should have pulled all of the holograms,if you were bustin' these packs Gordo to long.
the early unsealed proset and unsealed hoops card boxes are very risky to buy i am finding out. any sealed box seems to pull 10 times better because these cards where packed almost always the same. familiar players appear then you get the card you are looking for. so I am sure through the years these boxes get searched, if you can see the card number on bottom of pack you can pretty much tell if you are going to get the card you are after. I learned this the hard way on 89 proset series 2 boxes. I bought 4 from 4 different buyers and only pulled 1 Barry sanders and and 4 Deon sanders, no troy Aikman's :/ same with the 89 hoops, zero Robinsons so be careful when buying these boxes. Worth the extra money to get BBCE verified sealed boxes if you are going to take a chance on these old boxes that came unsealed. lesson learned.
So I bought a bunch of basketball cards from an auction for $5, 4 binders worth. I have a few Michael Jordan cards. And bunch of others. I’m not a basketball guy by any means but I might sell it.
Is it smarter to hold onto pack fresh Jordan cards for the next 30 years, or will the value not be that significant since they are part of the over production era? I’m torn between holding onto the cards until he dies and then selling or grading them now and flipping them for 5 times what I would get for them raw.
hello there, i got a question i bought 91-92 basketball card upper deck inaugural edition, so i would like to know if there are both series inside i mean 1-400 low serie, 400-500 high serie??? thanks
Thank you for sharing! I just opened me a couple boxes of these! You skipped over a Larry Johnson rookie card. Larry Johnson was a good player. He actually won rookie of the Year this year, in 91-92. He beat out Dikembe Mutombo. Both Larry Johnson and Dikembe Mutombo are the best two rookies to get in this year and set. Their rookie cards are all pretty much the same equal value. They are the best two to get. Then other good rookies to get this year, right below them, are Steve Smith and Terrell Brandon. Larry Johnson was sort of like the Zion Williamson of his time. He was a great college player and was the #1 draft pick overall this year, in 91. Larry Johnson went on to win rookie of the Year this year, beating out Dikembe Mutombo and Steve Smith. He then went on to have two All- Star appearances, in the early to mid nineties. I think he may have even been on Dream team two , or three, if I am not mistaken. Both Alonzo Mourning and Larry Johnson, led the Charlotte Hornets in the early to mid nineties to some good teams and years. They propelled the Hornets to some good teams and became very popular in the early to mid nineties. Leading to of course, as you probably already know, the GRANDMAMA commercial, being very popular in pop culture, also becoming Larry Johnson's nickname. He put up big all star numbers for the first half of his career, but then suffered a severe back injury, costing him a lot of his athletic ability, which in return caused his numbers to drop for the second half of his career. His numbers were still good, but not the same all star like numbers he had in the first half of his career when healthy, before the back injury. When he was on the Knicks, he still put up solid numbers and had some memorable moments with the Knicks, after being traded, from the Hornets. However, with all that being said, he was a really good player and he was the #1 pick this year and won Rookie of the Year. He was the rookie card to get this year, along with Dikembe Mutombo and Steve Smith. Both Larry Johnson and Dikembe Mutombo's cards are all pretty equal in value and worth the most, among all rookie cards. Once again, just trying to help. Again, Thank you! Take care and keep up the box breaks! God Bless!!
@@Trading_cards_and_more Your welcome! Yes, correct Mutombo is in the Hof. However, from most sources I have seen take, or give a little, their cards are pretty equal in value. However, at the time and mostly throughout the nineties, Johnson's card was worth the most and still is, in some cases. From what I have seen, they are pretty equal in value, but both are def the best two to get, along with Steve Smith as well. Steve Smith put up possibly future HOF worthy numbers as well. Just like Mourning is in the HOF and Spreewell is not, but there cards are similar in value. In the same way Mutombo is in the Hof and Larry Johnson isn't yet, but there cards are similar in value. Just the way it is. Johnson is a star none the less and may be in the Hof in the future. Those were the top rookies to get this year.
@@tonyevans63 Yea Larry Johnson isn't a HOFer. His stats disqualify him. Also, no NBA rings. I grew up in this Era and Larry Johnson was hyped so huge. I did like his game. He was a big guy, but a good shooter as well.
Dude. No way. I’m breaking my same box of 91-92 upperdeck and watching this video and I pulled the Jordan at the same time you did!!! Cant make this up. Wow man. Let’s gooo
Such nostalgia. These were my favorite cards back then. Upper deck. Back when they were actually worth something

Just opened a box tonight. Got all the Jordan’s expect the main one everyone wants and the hologram one. I got the hologram Rodman. Fun box to open.

I opened some of these cards. There are so also some David Robinson holograms. You should have pulled all of the holograms,if you were bustin' these packs Gordo to long.

I’m so mad…I had thousands from these years that lost
Oh yea, I thought adult sports card collecting was for nerds. People have retired on their collections.
This is one of my favorite products
Nice Jordan!
Thanks we've opened quite a few on the channel
Just need 401-500 to complete my set.
I just opened a box of this and pulled 5 MJ holograms and like a dozen MJ’s
Just opened a box and pulled 3 Holograms. They were all of Stockton. Couldn't believe it
Good old quality control

Grade then decide store better graded raw cards are cheap unless its a rare insert.
@@Trading_cards_and_more thanks man. Appreciate the advice. Love the channel. Huge fan.
my mate and i went halves. 2 jordon holograms and david robinson holo each.
Got 5 Jordan’s holo in mine and 12 Jordan’s total including the holo. So 5 holo plus 7 other’s

Should just be one or the other
These were so brutal. Always garbage in every pack
Got a question, I have pulled one of each Jordan so far, and I have 8 packs left. Should I go for more Jordan’s or save the packs as a hold?
Just open them there not much value.

Is it both series 1 and 2 nba cards
I think so
Are these worth money?
where did you end up buying the boxes?
Ebay
I broke 2 boxes of this in the past week and pulled 2 Jordan Holo out of first one and 3 Jordan Holo out of 2nd box. Is that weird?
we got 2 jordon holo and 2 david robinson, 6 holo alltogeth
Nice pulls from the first box but the second seemed like a lot of "Pooh." 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
Haha
Dude. No way. I’m breaking my same box of 91-92 upperdeck and watching this video and I pulled the Jordan at the same time you did!!! Cant make this up. Wow man. Let’s gooo
Question bro, I have pulled 1 of each of the 6 Jordan’s in this box and have 8 packs left...should I keep ripping or save the 8 packs?
Hey you should grade that stay in school micheal Jordan card psa10 sold for 1200
$50 at most, please do your research.
I did
My bad your right wrong card
Some people grade commons that have zero population in a PSA 9 or 10. It’s a probably a good strategy. But it’s also risky.
I got one of these boxes for my birthday a few years back and I got 0 holograms and 0 Jordans :/
Must have been searched.
I bought one for $60 did I get ripped off
I paid $20 a box but u save if u buy more. Plus the market has changed.
Yep, I paid a bit more. It’s the price that it’s selling for.
DeadLeft Schrempf 🤦♂️
🤣
Also what is the rarest card in this set?
I have no clue.
I have 2 unopen boxes of this
You skipped larry Johnson rookie card 🙄
I grabbed it later on dont worry
