    Good to see that the "Tottering Tower of Terror" has not altered much in the past 7 years. A short spade comes in handy.

    That was a “lovely” trip. I went into full mother hen mode for that one!! “Thor, don’t go down into that hole”, “Thor get out of that hole,” 😂😂

      Yes, been waiting to do that one for years but never quite got around too it. Walked 6 miles to get there after walking to another that turned out to be collapsed just inside.

    That's one incredible mine! Thor had me on edge thinking he was going to get stuck and definitely not a place for beginners. When you talk about false floors I just get a image of someone falling through a section that gives way underneath them and all the water then suddenly disappears down with them to totally flood where they have fallen into. I can see why you turned around on your first visit. Brilliant as always, please take care and stay safe 👍👍👍⛏️⛏️

      Yes, just after filming that section, we switched the camera off and a ghost from the late 1800s who had been sitting nearby, smoking a pipe as he watched us told us about that incident too :)

    @06:13 that id roof peel hello from down under opal miner here that back (roof) is a widow maker just look at the drop on the ground as you crawl through...............that good people is beyond blocky nasty bad ground. @09:00 that vertical crack on the back (roof) is a definite widow maker looking for somewhere to happen in my humble opinion. Sorry got to 19:09 as a miner I would not even have gone that far , with the water seepage and the blocky ground that place is a death trap. It wont need a few bang sticks to seal the portal just a ground shake will do the job. Stay safe good people.

      Yes, not a nice environment but something you get used to and be able to read and treat with respect. Still more to explore at that one, you missed a few of the main features by stopping there :)

    I've really enjoyed this Steve. I remember it from before. I like a good half hour video too. Some of those walls look like they're all leaning to the right, unless that's how they were cut.

    Its a vile hole, unrelenting crawls, deep water, bad roof. From one of the LH sumps (23 min) there is a short SRT route down to the sublevel, then horse level below, but deep water behind massive roof falls puts the kybosh on any progress, never mind a clear way to the famous now-lost flats. The ally ladder is mine, as is the Teetering Tower of Terror. You did well to get useable footage

    • @UKAbandonedMineExplores
      @UKAbandonedMineExplores  3 місяці тому

      Yes, interesting place thanks, we went many years ago but didn’t go past the tower as it freightened us. Yes, gonna look down there at some point and explore those dodgy bits with a larger team. Found signs of another entrance to the complex hidden away with the drone, yet to look on foot.
