I'm curious why (at 0:33) your machines pick each chocolate individually; I'd have expected some form of prearrangement of them into groups and then transferring whole groups would have reduced the total movement. I saw something similar in a BBC video showing the Mr. Kipling cake line in the UK.

David Alan Gilbert The task of this line is, amongst other things, to recognise pralines with different toppings, like for example pistachios, walnuts etc, and to sort them into the trays. Each praline has to be recognised by the vision system and the trays have to be filled in a way that each package contains the correct number of each praline type. If a praline is damaged, for example if the topping is missing, it is recognised as damaged by the vision system and not picked by the roboters. This means that it is not possible to pick complete lines. Moreover, the products are not always feeded totally ordered.
For the film we have used praline dummies in different colours.

Thanks for the explanation; it's interesting you used the same picking each item individually for the Mr Kipling line in the UK where it was all the same items, but yes I guess it does allow you to skip damaged items or have the flexibility to do mixed packs.

Schubert stellt nur Maschinen her. Es gibt allerdings Unternehmen, die als Lohnverpacker Produkte verpacken.
