I'd like to give an honorable mention to Light Mender's Pack for mages, that bonus lightning damage is very nice! I do love all these packs a lot so I think they do deserve the top spots, thx for the video Sheen!
I genuinely believe that the Trade backpack deserves to be in first place. Keep in mind that the 110 carry capacity is the *minimum* it can carry! Something I noticed about being overloaded is that it's dependent on the percentage of the carry cap and not on how much points over capacity affects movement... For example a primitive backpack makes you immobile if you carry 5 points {20% of max carry cap.} While The Trade backpack user can still dodge {using feather dodge} when 5 points {~4% max...} over capacity... Well comparing the worst pack to the best pack isn't a good example keep in mind that new players tend to haul a lot of materials to fight or explore the game... Also 110 cc is soo much that it could be used with players who like changing combat styles or just like using an arsenal of gear! And if a player can't beat an opponent they are going to need all that cc for traps! It's also amazing for coop!
I personally agree. Having more space for multiple weapon options and many more potions will always win over other stats. Also, without feather dodge you take the bag off anyway rendering most of the stats useless. So for the majority of builds the carry capacity is the only thing that matter anyway. Although Boozu can be nice for corruption areas regardless.
I would like to give a honorable mention to Preservation Backpack. For those like me who use alot of different foods to have passive health mana and stamina regen as well as discipline, rage, and other buffs up for fights having food take a very long time to rot makes this bag very useful.
On top of that when you've started your quest in Caldera for New Sirocco you can stash all your perishables and just leave the bag in town that way it degrades slowly while you're busy sleeping in plant tents or burning 7 day skips to finish your town construction.
Can confirm Brigands BackPack is a GREAT addition to any physical damage melee focused build. My only gripe is i hate the carry capacity (im a pack rat so the 110 pack is my main for plundering loot) and the no lantern gimmick, but as you stated earlier you can circumvent that with using Runic Lantern if you have a bit of mana in your build. That or drop a torch/lantern and lure enemies into it.
While all backpacks are - depending on their load - decreasing your speed and increasing stamina cost , I always fight without any backpack on me, keeping only vital potions in my pocket :) I never join any faction without having a character fully buildup , hence no house available, so I always go with Mefino for long runs and Boozu when travelling into highly corrupted areas. Once having a house : Zhorn backpack as main . Thanx for the video ! Peace
Mefinos is usually my go to until I think I have enough loot and can just fight bosses. Boozu is so small on your back and makes for a more appealing build. But ya Zhorn is super useful lol.
@@SheenShots Agree lol ! . As soon as you have a house to store your mess : Zhorn for big rides but still carring empty Boozu and Brigand , just in case of upcoming shitstorm :D :D :D ;)
Dusk backpack might actually replace the brass wolf in a lot of ways. I have never used it enough to include it on the list, but definitely something people should always look at before deciding which bag they want.
Can’t believe Light-menders backpack didn’t even get an honorable mention. It’s the only one that gives elemental damage, so in a way, It’s as good as Brigands for any spell users.
This is a fair point. The reason I didn't include it is because I typically go with Zhorns as a mage to negate that less stamina in case I want a bunch of mana. Definitely one of the better options for mages though.
I'll stick with mefinos. Even before I enter a dungeon my pack usually has 50 or so in it, these ones with 75 get full before I get through the first door.
I often feel like this lol. Even in my livestreams I sometimes use mefinos the whole time just so I don't have to be overweight from being a loot hog 😂
Glowstone lol. I don't really know if anyone has ever used that for a full build 😂. Maybe a lightbulb build with enchanted virgin armor. Really make them see you lol.
It is easy to forget about, but that much barrier can't be laughed off. Really nice pairing with armor sets that more protection than elemental defense.
I’m currently using it fir my bios called the great defender. Tsar armor, dusk backpack, tsar warhammer, shaman, warrior monk, primal ritualist. The defense is Amazing
There is a huge problem with Mefino's, and it's that it gets you into the bad habit of carrying too much useless stuff comfortably. So when you swap your backpack for, say, boozu or preservation packs, you'll end up constantly overburdened without knowing what to put away...
@@SheenShots I just love that you literally just took a chest and a lockbox and strapped it to a board and made that your backpack. But I mean, if you're smart with inventory management you can carry two backpacks, first clear the dungeon with your combat pack, then switch to mefinos and collect the loot.
I've been enjoying the glowstone backpack. I like not having to worry about light, ever. I've been using a chakram in my off hand and can't carry the Angler shield anymore.
@@SheenShots I think I got it from a kind of hidden area in a dungeon after getting my butt kicked and being low on health. I'm pretty sure there was an Immaculate there? So I felt like it was one of the hardest won trophies in my vast collection. Lol sometimes it's just about fun.
Is that some new fist build in the making? I'd like to see it, as I'm a new player and been thinking a while about doing a build like that. Actually I've seen yours builds and I'm undecided which way to go, so it might be what I need.
I would like to do at least something here soon. It has been a bit. Maybe for the Christmas or near year I will plan a run where we do some interesting challenge. Maybe mods, no backback, something unique.
All of the backpacks have some amount of preservation. Its just not a stat given to the player for some reason. (Nothing beats the preservation backpack of course, but its still nice to know)
Yes you can hand carry the lantern. Which really isn't that bad, but a lot of times a build will have two handed weapons or even an off hand weapon. So when you try to fight in a dark cave you just don't have the light. There are ways around it though like even dropping a lantern on the ground where you are about to fight.
I honestly expected a lot of people to say this. Brigands is such an advantage that its an obvious choice. I ultimately went with Zhorns because I use it more and the convenience of a lantern just feels right to me lol.
If you die in the cabal wind temple for the first time, there is a death scenario added in Definitive Edition where a yellow ghost is summoned from the grave to help you. He also has a quest associated with him after this.
Ouch. Hearing you say the truth about melfinos... my soul! Lol. It's always my main pack. I'm usually the pack mule when I play coop with my two sons. I carry all the loot, cash, buff foods. xD
Hey thanks for watching! This was an experiment with the wolf game set. The porcelain fists are good, but the armor in total not so much. Good Fist Build: Cabal Hermit Warrior Monk Hex mage Obsidian Knuckles = Obsidian Shard, Obsidian Shard, Palladium Scrap, Iron Knuckles Boozu Backpack Scarab Mask = bought in levant Antique plate garb with economy enchant Virgin Boots with rascals verve enchant This would let you deal fire damage and a lot of impact with wind infuse. It would also keep you more defense to the elements and give you hex as a last resort. Sorry to not give the one I used, but it turned out to be rather we due to the armor and really not worth looking into.
The problem with barrier is that elemental resistance can get so high it negates barrier entirely. In other words it is easier to decrease elemental damage taken than it is to decrease physical damage take. At least that is what I was thinking.
Sheen is such a goat for still producing Outward content at this point. What a champ.
I appreciate it. Hope to continue making more Outward content for quite some time.

I figured I would get some heat for that choice 😂. Glad you enjoyed it!

I have a big soft spot for Blue Sand armor with a Dusk backpack, Shamanic and Master of Motion letting you face-tank everything.

zhorn's backpack is top 1 for me two, but brigand's is so f... beautiful, with zhorn's dagger it makes such a badass looking combo

Glowstone lol. I don't really know if anyone has ever used that for a full build 😂. Maybe a lightbulb build with enchanted virgin armor. Really make them see you lol.
I’m happy the dusk backpack made it. Been using g it recently and have found it’s use in my tank build

Mefinos is best because it's short and simple, plus it looks the best when wearing trader gear
Mefinos is too hard to live without. And I agree. The two chests strapped together looks really cool.

When light-mender gave mana reduction instead of lighing damage it was in every build that used mana.
That made it S-tier lol but just lightning damage is not quite as useful for mages. Still good, but not nearly on the same level as before.
I love Trader backpack+Trader armor with Pearl Mask=gg easy :D You walk so much in this game.... it is so easier to play, dodge etc :D
The speed daemon build lol. Just run around everything. I did this with guns one time and it was a blast.
Pearl birbs mask is best mask! Who needs fast travel when you can out run the loading screen!

Boozu is one of my 3 favs along with brass-wolf and Light Mender's Backpack as an early backpack.
Light menders is under rated. It looks amazing and that lightning bonus is nothing to laugh at.

I will have a build on knuckles hopefully soon. Shield first then spear probably coming sometimes this week. Very excited for a knuckle build though.
Great video

Yo Sheen, I know you haven't played Outward in a while but what about doing a No Backpack challenge playthrough?

Wait… Zhorns has 50% preservation???
Wow good thing I stumbled on the manticore lair in a death scenario and had just picked up a large emerald lol.
All of the backpacks have some amount of preservation. Its just not a stat given to the player for some reason. (Nothing beats the preservation backpack of course, but its still nice to know)
Can you not just hand-carry a lantern with the brigand's backpack? Or is that locked out by equipping it?

So when you try to fight in a dark cave you just don't have the light. There are ways around it though like even dropping a lantern on the ground where you are about to fight.
Definitely would choose numb.2 over numb1. all day..Brigs backpack is the only one I ever use..10% stamina over 15% damg..not even close..

It would be cool if when you wore the boozo bag they wouldn't attack you. They think you are one of them. That would be a nice little feature.
I miss the old intro laugh
boozu hide my beloved
why was that summoned ghost yellow towards the end of the video?

Mefino's trader backpack still slows you down by -10%, it's still a type of "trader backpack".
