I absolutely love this, Carina. Superbly deft and characterful playing - complimenti! 😍 You treat us to a truly beautiful palette of sonorities through the course of these variations which seem to chime strongly with the Advent mood of excited expectation (even aside from any associations of the chorale text). I always think Pachelbel deserves much wider recognition, beyond the obvious… (I was half hoping that in the final variation you might have Aaron on bells as a human Zimbelstern!! 😄) Annabel x
Absolutely lovely - a magnificent performance and although not a 'toccata' . . . not without its challenges! You play Pachelbel's Theme and Variations beautifully: a real Advent treat!
Come to France !The melody of this chorale comes from the Genevan Psalter (psalm 42). -or psautier huguenot, psautier français. It is always sung by French protestants (with a text in modern French). The german text is not a translation of the french texte ua-cam.com/video/RSDqkWr6XOY/v-deo.html

This is inspiring. Excellent delivery
One of my favorite tunes. Pachelbel does a masterful job with his variations on it. I just wish more churches sang the hymn during Advent.
