I've watched 'the box' an unhealthy amount of times. Jake is an absolute genius there and also Philip is Randall from 'This is us' makes me love the episode even more
Jake just operates in a different plane of thinking that it actually works great. Thinking out of the box, thinking creatively, and paying attention to details that would otherwise be left out. Brilliant mind.
This show has SO MANY subtle yet genius moments, it's carzzzy! Inspite of watching the show so many times, I still can't believe that I find something new everytime
"There is so much crime in new york, no one should live here" ....yeah EDIT: Aight fellas, that’s a lot of likes. As my Turkish friend Sabri would say, sobscreeb naow
"The Box" is by far my favorite episode of the entire series. the fact that it has no b-plot, Jake's final speel about the crime, Philip's aggressive confession. It's all so perfect.
If I had a nickel for every time Jake had a sleep deprived breakthrough on a case with Terry I'd have 2 nickels, which isn't alot but it's weird that it happened twice.
What really sales Jake and Amy is that even when she was dating someone else he still acted mature even admitting when he went too far or messed something up. He treats her like a person not a prize. I love them they're such a healthier couple.
Not necessarily. Usually there are some provisions for 48 or 72 hour maximum shifts. Usually your boss will let you leave if you tell them "hey, I'm literally too exhausted to function today," but yeah -- you don't get to just go home. Alot of it is getting around it with your partner. That's the real source of the jokes about why detectives always hate partners that are terrible at driving: because that's when you catch up on sleep.
I love it when they actually solve crimes I love it when Scranton branch actually sells paper I love it when Pawnee parks department actually makes parks. They win by far.
"God, i love this job" my god, i wish i had this much passion for something. The man has solved so many mysteries but hasn't yet solved the mystery of growing up. I love the guy..
what i love about this show more than a show like the office or parks and rec is while it's still hilarious, you don't get excited when jim and dwight sell paper or leslie does paperwork. but when jake solves a case it is very interesting and exciting. this show turns the situation of a sitcom into something that is great to watch even without the comedy
The Box is easily the best episode of the entire series, it's so well done, executed perfectly. Not only does it only use 2 sets and 5 characters at the very most, it's a completely focused A plot with nothing else, Philip's actor is amazing, it's riddled with jokes AND drama, and you can clearly see Holt and Jake slowly spiral downwards. Not only that, but the ending is flawless, amazing psychological way to trip up Philip, and it's so cathartic watching the Crescendo of Jake monologuing to Philip slowly getting more and more upset until he just snaps, and realizes his mistake. And obviously the very end is a sweet bit of relief from everything that had just happened.

Who's Andy?
He’s a great stereotype of the cop obsessed with work who completely neglects his personal life. But one who’s actually a decent guy and more of a goof about it than a sad addict.
“Entirely my fault partially” classic jake😂😂
9:23 When Jake says "God I love this Job" is where I understand why he is so passionate towards his work n not stressed or frustrated like most people, he enjoys his work , wish I could say that
Also maybe bcz it's a fucking film and they're just acting and the reality has nothing to do with that

“i’m way too sleep deprived to deal with your negativity.” ~Jake if that isn’t a mood… i don’t know what is.
4:12 I'm sorry, but Jake cuddling with kittens is everything. Maybe Jake and Amy should get a cat?
If only "the worst episode of B99" had ended with them deciding to get a cat instead of having a kid.
Terry would find the cat and kill it.

@@householdisnotaproblem oh my god that's a missed opportunity indeed
I've watched 'the box' an unhealthy amount of times. Jake is an absolute genius there and also Philip is Randall from 'This is us' makes me love the episode even more
"There is so much crime in New York. No one should live here."
Had me like: 🤣
only jake could solve a case by knowing the release date of jordans
I know Terry’s mad at the detectives from his old precinct, but he doesn’t need to insult those adorable kittens.🥺
Look he wanted to bring in a dead cat I think he gets a pass for strength and anger and crazy
He insulted them, yes; but he's still gentle when he handles them and he also wanted them to get homes instead of dumping them at a shelter.
Terry doesn't hate the cats, he hates what they represent; they're a message, a statement
I mean, they are always Nak'd and they pee in a box
Jake just operates in a different plane of thinking that it actually works great. Thinking out of the box, thinking creatively, and paying attention to details that would otherwise be left out. Brilliant mind.
"God I love this job". The person creating these compilations. Probably.
I really hope the day comes where i get to say this whole heartedly

'Sorry fell asleep for a second' so relatable on a Monday morning

"The Box" is one of the best tv episodes to have ever been created istg
6:10 is one of my favourite moments from the actual crime fighting side of the show, such a brilliantly performed reveal :D
Can't stop replaying the part where Jake rolls over to the map of burglaries in New York and its just full of pins
8:18 walks out onto the streets of *New York City:* "Ahh, fresh air"
_are you sure about that_
When you've been cooped up in an office for as long as they had *any* air is fresh
8:55 the most wholesome scene ever
The dentist case is still the best solve of Peralta for me, and he was the best perpetrator on the show.
Wasn't really a solve. They knew he did it. They just needed a confession.
5:45 this might be the greatest scene in tv history. I loved the style of this episode and the writing was incredible.
I understood that reference.
@@phoebegilliland8897 I understood THAT reference
his breakthroughs are so satisfying to watch

They missed the best one: when Jake worked out exactly who got whom for Secret Santa
What really sales Jake and Amy is that even when she was dating someone else he still acted mature even admitting when he went too far or messed something up. He treats her like a person not a prize. I love them they're such a healthier couple.

That dentist guy flinches at 6:24. That's some quality acting right there, you can tell Jake's getting under his skin
Surely detectives get to go home and sleep after spending all night closing a case.
Yeah but there hard workers, they enjoy there job so they don't want to miss a day
Also based on the cleanses of Jake appartment the prescient is a better environment.
*The week was entirely my fault partially*

5:55 is the bestest of all of them, all are super, but that technique is just so good!
"It was for love"
-"cool motive, still murder" got me haha
8:54 Holts laugh is so genuine
Hitchcock is the best at hiding stuff about himself, no-one knows that he and Scully were the "studs of the precinct" 😂😂😂
Holt's binders at 1:05 are organized in a rainbow. That's adorable.
“Cool motive still murder lol”
“Cool motive! Still murder” one of my favorite lines idk why 😂
i love how whenever jake figures out the answer to a crime, it's always based off of something he said to a coworker/friend.
"There's so much crime in New York, no one should live here" lol
I like at 1:30 the lawyer looked down at Whitman with that 'they just busted you' look on his face 😆
have y'all notice how jake brags about everything else EXCEPT what he's actually really amazing at, his work!
I have the entire dentist monologue memorized and I regret nothing
Honestly I love how Jake makes the exact same "I've got it!" Face every time he solves something.
The last one is the best by far man when they laughed at each other after he said "yeah kevin" made this whole series for me man
I love Phillips face when he thinks that he schooled Jake…
Then he realized he just confessed to a murder
8:04 i feel like a lot of people are going to want to get their dental implants replaced
"Cool motive, still murder" I love that line!!!
I love it when they actually solve crimes
I love it when Scranton branch actually sells paper
I love it when Pawnee parks department actually makes parks. They win by far.
YEAHHH
And all are written/produced by Michael Schur.
That fact that he is always sleep deprived shoes his dedication to his work.
5:33 did that guy seriously try to forcibly close the door against Terry. The Terry who is freakishly strong. That was a losing battle from the start
The scene where he says "follow me" and doesn't move is probably my favorite scene from the early seasons
I think you mean Jake Sherlock Peralta😅
if it wasnt for JOKE Peralta...
Sherlock wants a present!
7:48 As Jake said during the Backstreet Boys opening "Ah chills, literal chills" 😮😮😂
